Hello everyone!!

Still in new baby hell heaven and the nappies are working a treat. No stains yet either!

Am feeding and dealing with curry paste poo all over my bed so can't stop.....

lollipopmother · 26/01/2009 14:44

Tree You say the nappies are working a treat .... you do know that there isn't supposed to be poo anywhere but IN the nappies don't you, poo on the bed is not normal! Have your nipples fallen off yet? Oh, and did you go with the name you told me?

Hi sorry to butt in, I've been asking LOADS of questions about real nappies and no one else seems to be replyikng so thought I'd jump in here

I'm looking for reusables for my 2.6YO heavy wetting DS. Totally new to this stuff just want to give it a go. Can anyone reccommend any certain brands he is just normal built.

Also needing info about boosters, wraps and anything else that I will need please

Thank you

Hi, I've answered your question on your original thread about what nappy. What other questions have you asked hun, point me in the right direction and I'll have a go!

mamadiva · 26/01/2009 14:55

Just basically what I've asked above thanks

Brands, boosters and wraps really.

People keep telling me to make my own boosters but I think I'd rather buy them because no doubt I'd muck something up LOL. I am not a sewer!

About liners is paper or material better, and do you need them if you use boosters?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/01/2009 15:12

cyteen: Nappy all dry now & ready to be sent! If I get payment before 5pm today, can get it posted this evening - otherwise will be Wednesday. Hope that's OK. xx

AnnVan · 26/01/2009 16:46

Mamadiva - can't answer about a toddler brandwise. Liners - paper basically catches poo so it can be tipped down the loo easily. Fleece liners keep the bum nice and dry, so it's personal preference there really. The best wraps are Motherease Airflows although mybe that won't matter so much with solid poo - will have to wait for someone with older DC to help on that one. Actually Motherease do a toddler sized nappy - the Toddle-ease it's called.
Boosters and liners do two separate things so you can use both, although if the booster you use is fleece-topped you can't use a fleece liner with it. FWIW I don't use liners at all atm, although I am considering getting some fleece liners.
Wow that was an essay - hope it helps a bit though.

rachel sorry, been out all afternoon so missed your message. wednesday is fine, i will paypal tonight thanks!

so annoying: i finally got my parcel from the nappy lady and 2 or my 3 trial nappies are not in there, grr. i guess they're waiting for stock.

AnnVan · 26/01/2009 18:33

cyteen I'll be seeing you tomorrow won't I? so if you like, I can bring a sample of Seb's nappies to show off demonstrate??
What nappy did you get today then?

thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/01/2009 19:40

cyteen: No worries about delay - just like to let people know when I'm able to post things! x

cyteen · 26/01/2009 20:08

Ann that would be cool, although don't put yourself out obviously - just whatever is in his change bag will be interesting

I got the Bumble today, so still waiting on the Teddy and the Flexitots. Plus have got the Pocket Tots from rachelinscotland, 3 Fuzzi Bunz and a Baby Beehind coming from various places there is no hope for me.

AnnVan · 26/01/2009 20:14

hehe!! obviously not - but then there's no hope for me either. have realised most of my nappies are dirty - going to put a wash on so that I actually have some tomorrow!

thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/01/2009 21:25

yeah, buying nappies is dangerous business! LOL Once you start, there's no stopping...you have to try at least one of everything! And having had 2 in nappies for the best part of 2 years, it gives me even more excuse to keep looking for more! Only got 1 in nappies at the moment...but bump due to arrive in just over 9 weeks, so all the more fun again!

cyteen · 26/01/2009 21:31

9 weeks, eh? Exciting!

I am perving over the Itti Bitti site as we speak

thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/01/2009 21:35

Yes, it is exciting! tho bit uncomfortable at the moment...think it's a big & energetic baby!

Not tried an Itti Bitti yet - they look very cute, but not yet spent that much for a single nappy! I'm sure I saw someone on another site earlier today selling quite a few of the large ones for 10 pounds each...but maybe they're not much more than that new? They look so bright & soft - very tempting! Seems everyone likes them at the moment.

rusmum · 26/01/2009 21:38

have we got a name for sapling yet????????????????????????????????????????????????

thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/01/2009 22:13

cyteen: thanks for Paypal payment. Will get it posted out to you on Wednesday. xx

ilovemydogandMrObama · 26/01/2009 22:27

Tree Delivery Please don't post photos of Sapling looking adorable in Sandy's Extra Small. Am having a major broody stage and DP says we might as well try, 'one last time...'

Am so looking forward to the whole story when you get a chance!

mamadiva · 26/01/2009 22:28

Hi again sorry to keep interupting you lot but could any of you reccommend the best boosters to use for a heavy wetter?

ilovemydogandMrObama · 26/01/2009 22:33

Bamboo boosters are good.

I use bamboo and also microfiber. Tescos Cleaning Cloths in Microfiber are good and double as a booster/cleaning cloth (washed! )

mamadiva · 26/01/2009 22:37

Can you use cloths as boosters I thought you'd have to use the fancy booster things LOL. I wish I had of looked into reusables when DS was born now

I assumed it was all safety pins and terry squares

lollipopmother · 26/01/2009 22:38

Ilovemydog - Oh wow how exciting! How many will the next DC make?

I believe I know Sapling's name but it's unfair for me to reveal, hopefully when Tree gets her nipples back she might be able to come on here and tell us all!

Cyteen and Rachel - Ittis are £13 new, 2nd hand they normally go for £10, certainly I wouldn't buy for more unless they had extra inserts included.

OP posts:
lollipopmother · 26/01/2009 22:39

Oh and I must say that my MIL bought me a Jade one and it is bloody gorgeous, I HEART HEART HEART it!

OP posts:
SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 26/01/2009 22:41

re itti - if you're interested, got one for £9.50 posted today from CNT, and she had more (medium), and got one for £12 with an extra insert set.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 26/01/2009 22:41

mamadiva: My little boy is nearly 2yo and a very heavy wetter at nights. I've been boosting my nappies (Tots Bots Fluffles) with an extra microfibre insert (like the ones from Fuzzibunz, though you can use microfibre cleaning clothes instead) and have also added 1-2 cheap flannels! I've found that the cheap flannels (got mine from Tesco) are very absorbant and nice & thin too, so don't make it tooo bulky. Really you can stuff nappies with just about anything, as long as it's soaks up liquid! lol
