.... as they are wont to do & it was hot & we are wishy washy liberals. they were prancing around having a lovely time when this total nutter (mother with 2 small kids in fact) came along & started really yelling at us that we were dreadful for letting them be naked. she was properly ranting, about paedophiles & social services & how we were totally disgraceful & was extremely aggresive. we were kind of stunned but basically ignored her & she left.

and then she came back. about 10 minutes later. and started right back in where she'd stopped and the rang the police to report us .

the girls were actually quite frightened by this point (poor dd said on my knee & whispered that she didn't want the police to take her away ). we left asap, but it was really horrid. i cried. this is our local park, & i so don't want to be looking over my shoulder all the time. she was scary. lovely versdesociete looked after me, & we scarfed many carbs & coffee & cake & all felt much better but i was really shaky afterwards. arrrrgh (and the day has continued to be eventful as ds found strangers running through the garden & there was a terrifying/thrilling police chase with helicopters. i was in asda, don't think i could have taken the excitement....).

Oh dear, what a nutter. How sad that she scared your DD.

Just imagine the mirth she will have caused at your local police station though.

cornsilk · 26/09/2008 22:50

good god.

SixSpotBurnet · 26/09/2008 22:51

oh dear hoxty, how dreadful!

I am sorry .

You know she is a nutter, obviously, so try not to dwell on it.

And obviously the police in your neck of the woods will have bigger fish to fry .

Sorry about the intruders in the garden too - we had bother last year but (touch wood) it has been okay since we installed a security light.

Have a nice glass of wine and try and relax.

PootyApplewater · 26/09/2008 22:51

the woman is a looooooooon.
poor worried dd.

SixSpotBurnet · 26/09/2008 22:52

And grrr at her for scaring your lovely dd . Horrible woman.

lilolilmanchester · 26/09/2008 22:52

bizarre. Makes you feel sorry for her DCs, what kind of life must they have??

hoxtonchick · 26/09/2008 22:54

oh, you're all lovely . really strange experience though. luckily everyone i've told in real life (really rather a lot ) agrees. it just freaked me out a bit....

OP posts:
solidgoldbrass · 26/09/2008 22:55

Urgh, poor you, what a stupid nasty buckethead of a woman. Her DC are at far more risk - of growing up with awful body-images and phobias and complexes.

SixSpotBurnet · 26/09/2008 22:56

It would freak me out too, tbh. Not that my DS3 would go around naked - we cannot get him to remove his socks for love nor money at the moment .

pooka · 26/09/2008 22:57

God how horrid.

What is wrong with some people - they seem to want everyone to live in fear, creeping around, terrified of men in bushes and the like. It takes the shine off the joy of children being children.

Grrrr. I would have been livid and mortified and how dare she scare your children. HAG.

hoxtonchick · 26/09/2008 22:57

the girls were waving their bottoms in the air, it has to be said. but they are very lovely bottoms!

hoxtonchick · 26/09/2008 22:57

that is such a cool image of your ds3 ssb!

OP posts:
pooka · 26/09/2008 22:58

Quite! And you were there with them, and they were having fun. None of her business.

controlfreakinfreaky · 26/09/2008 22:59

grade A bona fide officially certifiable LOON!

poor you, poor your lovely dd.

am sure cake was very sensible therapy

SixSpotBurnet · 26/09/2008 23:00

hoxtonchick, you should have seen the looks we got in the summer at the paddling pool in Vicky Park at DS3 paddling in his socks and doodles. You could tell that there were all these mothers (and I don't blame them) thinking: "Why doesn't she just take his shoes and socks off?"

MadBadandDangeroustoKnow · 26/09/2008 23:00

How horrible for you.

I was once harangued for allowing my daughter to hang from the climbing frame, showing a minimal glimpse of knicker. It was, apparently, only a matter of seconds before a paedophile would leap out of the undergrowth to abduct her.

Think sad truth is that women with ishoos do hang around in parks, waiting to vent.

SixSpotBurnet · 26/09/2008 23:00

sorry for thread crash, btw

note to self: SSB, it's not all about you...

controlfreakinfreaky · 26/09/2008 23:02

hi there ssb, how are you?

cheesesarnie · 26/09/2008 23:02

i feel for her children.

silly lady.

hoxtonchick · 26/09/2008 23:02

glad there are other loons around....

Marina · 26/09/2008 23:12

Dd serenades her naked bottom on a regular basis hoxty, there are plenty of other mad mini-mooners around. She doesn't do it in public any more, which on the basis of your very upsetting experience today, is probably just as well. I will be cross-referencing versdesociete's carb splurge on www's bootcamp thread, mind you

hoxtonchick · 26/09/2008 23:15

ds has no shame either, & he's 6... she did mention your 10yy thread marina, but we decided it was justifiable in the circs. as we stuffed cake into our mouths .

OP posts:
bundle · 26/09/2008 23:48

hoxty, I seem to remember last time your dd and my dd2 were together they got nekkid!

(btw, i rang the parks police today cos a man with a dog wouldn't get out of the playground - despite BIG SIGNS saying No Dogs. They appeared intheir van pretty rapidly..the man took his dog away. ahem)

Marina · 26/09/2008 23:52

Our encounter with the wilder side of park life today featured a tiny tearaway in a stupid hat, smoking a fag (he was about the size of Jackie Coogan) and tearing up and down the path on one of those ridiculous Alf Tupper-sized diddy motorbikes. The best thing was that he had his little brother with him and they had gone to the trouble of sourcing a Pit Bull puppy on a string. Watch it boys, in three short months it will be big enough to eat you up! Totally surreal.
