How often do you tell your children that you love them - and what is their response??

Just told ds1 (age5) and he said "you are always saying that mummy - I know!!!"

I cannot remember my parents ever telling me they loved me, so I think I go over board!

Tell Dd1 [4.11] everyday, several times a day. We do the whole 'love you to [where ever] and back" thing. Her favourite atm is 'I love you to a far away place & back'

Already tell Dd2 [not even 2 weeks] I get many burbs & funny faces back!

Don't get much of a reply from sulky teenage DS, a grunt of a 'you too' if I'm very lucky.

Plenty from DD, end of all calls, texts when she's a uni. Wandering into the kitchen with a 'hello pretty mummy, i love you' this morning. I like to think this is unrelated to her wanting the car tonight and picking the nicest of the bottles of wine I won at a garden party tombola to take to a friends

She lost a friend in a car crash a couple of weeks ago and have noticed if i'm getting ready to drive off she'll now be hanging about and will tell me she loves me. Don't think she's realised I've noticed but I'm happy with being told as much as possible.

I used to wonder if I over did it because my 5 yr old tells me at random times throughout the day, so often he tells me before I get a chance, of course I tell him when he says it to me

I always tell him at bed time and then whenever I feel like it, but like I say he says it first!! (he is a sensitive kind of soul)

We all say it a lot in this house. Only rarely do DD and DD say it to each other though, but when they do, I feel all glowy (is that a word?).

Or is it aglow? Pedants? Help me out please.
