Obviously we love them, but what do you like most about them?

DS1: He has a wicked sense of humour already, and LOVES being scared witless, which is very amusing. He always shares too, usually without being asked to.

DS2: He's only 8.5mths, but he's so affectionate it's lovely.

I can peomise them soon then, and they will nbe calm and happy (well, as happy as a psycho family can be at least)

expatinscotland · 12/07/2008 01:06

DD2: her sense of humour and cheek

DD1: her nature is so beautiful - kind, empathetic, generous.

zaphod · 12/07/2008 01:07

ds1 I love the way he laughs when something strikes him as being funny (usually Family Guy, yuck).
ds2 is a comedian.
dd the girliness of her. HSM, pink room, the lot.
ds3 has a perfectly rounded bottom which I adore.
ds4 is so earnest about things it nearly breaks my heart.

anotherdayyetanothernickname · 12/07/2008 11:49

ASked him what theme he wants for his birthday party next time....expected Thomas the Tank engine or some such like and he said "I want a mummy theme"

Obviously we won't be doing that (don't fancy a me shaped cake much (!) but it was a sweet thing to say!

Greensleeves · 12/07/2008 11:54

ds1 - his ascerbic wit, his affectionate sweet altruistic nature, his gangly funny little gait - pure poetry in motion. and his startlingly unusual way of seeing the world. The lovely dreamy lost look he has in his beautiful almond eyes when he's thinking really deeply.

ds2 - his direct, uncompromising integrity. His way of seeing straight through situations/people like an arrow. His big round wonder-filled innocent baby-blue eyes. His fearlessness - he will square up to adults three times his size if he thinks they really are wrong. And the way his hair flips up and down as he trots along

ktmoomoo · 12/07/2008 11:54

ds ..... cheeky smile
dd,,,,, cute laugh
dd and ds their lovely cuddles
ds and dd when asleep lol
dd........ sweet nature she very kind
ds.....he is helpful ,round the house[apart from own room !!!]
they not bad children really , just seems it sometimes lol

maidamess · 12/07/2008 11:56

dd (12) does the funniest impessions of people and has an ascerbic wit

ds(7) is as honest and sunny as the day is long

ds(5) is the 'silent assassin' . In the event of a nuclear war, he will be the only one left with the cockroaches, foraging for chocolate biscuits in burnt out larders.

What I'm trying to say is, he's self sufficient, single minded and extrememly determined.

maidamess · 12/07/2008 11:57

Ooh just read Greensleeves, that 2 'ascerbic wits' in 3 posts!

maidamess · 12/07/2008 11:59

This is a really nice thread...we can be so quick to worry/slate/despair of our children. Nice to read the plus sides of having them!

MmeLindt · 12/07/2008 11:59

I like when DD is so caring and sweet with her little brother, and other children. That she is artistic and thoughtful.

I like hearing DS giggle and that he skips instead of running or walking. That he has such a cheeky face.

I love that they are best friends, they just adore each other and are always giving each other cuddles and kisses.

Skribble · 12/07/2008 12:05

DD I love the way she makes people smile just with the way she dances about and laughs and smiles. I love the way she can do really good accents.

DS I love his imagination and laid back attitude, I love that he still calls me mummy.

Both of them are very positive and willing to try new things and situations. (DD went to a summer school in a place she had never been with kids she had never met and made loads of friends)

smartiejake · 12/07/2008 12:14

dd2 (9)- away with the fairies most of the time but fiercly witty. Her teacher described her as a "free spirit".

dd1 (12)such a caring child. SHe's the only child to have gone every week to a letter writing club at school this year and has written weekly to a housebound pensioner. Her friends think she is strange and have teased her for wanting to write to old "fogeys" as they put it.

Greensleeves · 12/07/2008 19:45

bumping this because it's lovely [sap]

wulfstan · 13/07/2008 21:42

DS1: he's simply lovely. He calls me darling. He drives me mad by interrupting me with the same question a million times when I'm reading him stories. The way he tells me things in a really, intense, serious, 2-year-old kind of way.

DS2: he's ginger. Beautiful, beautiful coppery goldy carroty hair. He's full of naughty giggles. He has DS1 in fits at mealtimes, when he gets up to all sorts of baby mischief. He's only 10 months and he already finds it hilarious to feed me bits of his food.

I could go on and on here...

meep · 13/07/2008 21:46

dd (1) when she does little squeaks of excitement and her arms and legs all start wriggling at the same time

and when she's tired and her wee head drops onto my shoulder and she puts her hand round my neck and strokes my hair

and when she looks round with a cheeky grin because she just knows that I will be watching her

and when she ........... ah ..... I could go on for ever!

cheesesarnie · 13/07/2008 21:51

dd(8)-so kind ,caring and helpful.and beyond beutiful!
ds1(7)-such a funny little person even when being pain in the bum.
ds2(2)-complete mixture of the older 2!

cheesesarnie · 13/07/2008 21:52

smartiejake-awww at your dd2!bless her!
