Obviously we love them, but what do you like most about them?

DS1: He has a wicked sense of humour already, and LOVES being scared witless, which is very amusing. He always shares too, usually without being asked to.

DS2: He's only 8.5mths, but he's so affectionate it's lovely.

DD is 4. I like that she is silly at bizarre moments - loves singing crazy songs,

and she obviously delights in making us laugh,

she bosses her little bro around but is also fiercely protective of him,

she hates to see me sad,

she tells me I'm beautiful

DS is 2. I like that he is tough as an old boot, but also extremely affectionate and cuddly.

I like the way his face breaks into a huge, wide, squinty eyed grin.

He loves to perform and amuse me and DH.

I like the way he keeps peace with his sister and is generally easygoing.

DD1: she is stunning (18yo) she is forthright - she doesn't give a fuck, if she has something to say, she says it. She is a rebel and does what the hell she likes. She is still my baby girl, even though i don't tell her enough. She is kind and tolerant and everyone likes her.

DD2: (3yo) Cute, funny, beautiful, loving, stubborn, charming and my baby girl too

Hmmm...

DD is loving, blunt and just her.

DS is cheeky, energetic, great upper body strength and has mastered the look of Puss from Shrek so he gets away with murder.

Maybe that last point should be a negative...

Ds is very funny. Makes me giggle a lot. And is very affectionate, bless him, loves cuddles and hugs. Actually, I find it really lovely that although he's at school, his friends still hug each other - wonder what age it is that boys start not wanting to hug each other/you?

the way my DS (20 months) says please, "peeese" .

I love this thread. It's making my eyes water, but then it's totm.

I love my dd because she's got a 50 year old head on her 7yo shoulders. She tells me to stop being silly 9 times out of 10 and she's usually right to do so.

I love her sense of humour, which is a little weird and unconventional.

I love it when I cuddle her 'from behind' in bed, with my arms wrapped tight around her shoulder and chest and her head on my upper arm.

I love the way she loves herself and everyone around her.

I love the fact that she's clever, but not bigheaded; loving but not soppy; persistent but never bored.

I just love her. And yes she's a pfb. In fact she's an only born. And maybe that in itself is enough to give thanks for?

I love my DD (13 months) because she is completely unselfconscious, so is completely herself. She also believes that happiness is her rightful state of being.

Lovely thread

I could go on and on but briefly:

DD1 - 6 with Down;s syndrome -
The way she says 'come on' in a real mock cockney way when I say 'no you can't have a lolly' etc!
The way she does her happy hands when she is happy and the happier she gets the further back downa nd over her back they go
The way she goes from only answering to Dorothy (from Oz) to Lola (as in Charlie and) to Prince Peter (narnis) and everyone else is the Scarecrow/Toto or Charlie/Sizzles or Lucy/Mr Tumus

DD2 - 2 yrs
The way she calls me darlin'!
The way she wants to be involved and help with every single thign I do and the way she asks 'I help you yeah, I do it myslef, all day long, okay darlin'!!!

DD3 - 9 months
The way she pants in a mad excitable way as she crawls after me
The way all her legs and arms go stiff with joy as a put a plate of food infront of her or she sees my boob and knows milk is coming
The way she giggles when I nuzzle into her neck

micegg · 14/07/2008 22:05

Today when DD aged 2.9 stood in front of me in her dads pants (she got into one leg and had the other leg flapping about behind her) and the tie he wore on our wedding day around her neck and said "what do you think?".

My DS (3 months) crooked smile.

Tnoog · 14/07/2008 22:06

His twinkly green eyes, slightly scruffy black hair and his sensitive and generous nature.

MarsLady · 14/07/2008 22:09

The fact that they like each other and are so good with other people. They make other children feel instantly at home.

Oh and they're rather gorgeous. It's all my genes you know.
