I know, it's bloody hard work most of the time but sometimes you can't help laughing:

DD1 to MIL "Nanny, why have you got a hairy lip?"

DD1 (4yo) "I don't like sheepdogs"

DH: "Why not darling?"

DD1 "Well I get confused - are they sheep or are they dogs?"

LOL! I often think of keeping a book of all the funny things DD (2.5) says.
Today she said: "Shh, carrot!" (misunderstood quiet)
A few weeks a go she had the pox and spotted a man with lots of moles loading the fridge in tesco. She shouted "Mummy, he has chickenpox too!!"
I'm also trying to encourage her to become 'dry' at night so I asked her to sit on the potty so I could hear PSSSSSSSSSSSSS - this backfired: she now declares that she has had a "P!ss wee!"

MNersanonymous · 19/05/2008 23:03

Practically everything he says at the moment. I love this age (he's just coming up to 3)....well apart from when he's having a strop.

Sorry to be soppy!

Pinkchampagne · 19/05/2008 23:10

I had a feeling DS1 may have had worms last week, so treated DS2 (just 5) as well. DS2 decided he liked the banana medicine, and just after taking it he said "The banana ones have gone, but now I have strawberry worms!"
Think he fancied trying a new flavour medicine!

Jusr coming up to 3 here too:

"Mummy, who's your keyworker?"

"Mummy ...I'm doing a perfect poo".

"I wear pyjamas to bed...and daddy wears pants and a tummy".

That's just some of today's highlights!

MsPontipine · 19/05/2008 23:23

Fridayfeeling · 19/05/2008 23:50

DS2 "Mummy, I am having a break down" (means a break !!)

DS2 " Look at my ball bag"

He used to say elecunt for elephant

Shitemum · 19/05/2008 23:57

DD2 is only 20 mo
She likes to sing her version of Happy Birthday - "Happy, to you!"
This week she has been saying "I SEE you!"

Astrophe · 20/05/2008 00:03

My DD and DS got a doll from Burger King with the name "Audry" writen on its tag.I read it to them. They call her "Wardrobe", and every time they say it I smile.

Astrophe · 20/05/2008 00:06

DD (when she was 3) to my (adult) friend "When you grow up, you will have big boobies like Mummy"

eidsvold · 20/05/2008 03:59

dd2 said to me - when asking for something

Please your lovely royal highness mummy!

superloopy · 20/05/2008 05:06

DD 3.10yo uses "Please beautiful Mummy?"
when she wants something....

It is hard to refuse!!

Lizzylou · 20/05/2008 05:57

DS1 has taken to calling me his "Princess", he has worked out that any request ending in "Please Princess" is very likely to be fulfilled.

ANTagony · 20/05/2008 06:31

Can we buy RAC batteries this time mummy we always get AA ones.

3 yr old son obsessed with breakdown services!

ANTagony · 20/05/2008 06:35

To a male friend: It okay - patting his arm - I know why you wear glasses, its cause you're really really old. Mummy when you are really really old will you wear glasses?

Theres a line when it makes you smile but you know its rude. Have to tackle this carefully

Minkus · 20/05/2008 11:01

Lol at NotSoRampants DP wearing pants and a tummy to bed!

When looking at our wedding photos "Mummy, in your white dress, that's when you were very beautiful" (Bit of a double edged sword that one!)

At bed time having a snuggle "Mummy you are my bestest friend"

And "when I close my eyes and go to sleep I will think about you Mummy, when you go to sleep will you close your eyes and think about me?"

deaftowhingeing · 20/05/2008 11:08

DD1 4yo seeing a field of oilseed rape: "that looks like a field of sunshine mummy"

Gosh, too many to mention. Recent favourites are:

DS2(3) "Mummy, I love you but not on Fridays" ??????

DS1(4) Has started messing around with words and letters and keeps saying "Wank you" instead of "Thank you".

DS2 "Mummy, you smell of pink roses and fine wine but Daddy is whiffy"

I don't know where they get these from but they make me laugh everyday...

waycat · 20/05/2008 12:50

What a lovely thread!!

My DS2 is 12, and all through his life he has said things that just melt my heart. So hard to think of many off the top of my head, but some that spring to mind are:

"Mummy, why have you got fluff on your wee-wee?" - perhaps I should explain that this refers to my pubic hair, and he asked this when he was about 5 and we were sharing a shower at a swimming pool.

"Oh mum, I can see why dad went for you - you've got curves, soft bits and all sorts of stuff"! - said not so long ago, and I must say it had me in stitches!

Just two for now - no doubt more will come to me when I'm not thinking about them.

choosyfloosy · 20/05/2008 12:51

A gem from ds (4) this morning.

'Mummy you've got a big head. Mummy, your face is as BIG AS AN ELEPHANT'S MIDDLE'

extremely wide

waycat · 20/05/2008 12:53

Just wanted to add this, which is what we do every night at bed time:

DS2: Night night

Me: Night night

DS2: See you in the morning

Me: See you in the morning

DS2: Sweet dreams

Me: Sweet dreams

DS2: Love you!

Me: Love you too!

That has been going on for years, and is a nightly ritual.

Niecie · 20/05/2008 13:06

DS2 (4.8) comes out with some crackers sometimes and can spin a great yarn but his latest one was when we were out shopping and he just said out of the blue,

"lions don't really like eating cupcakes, do they?"

What is going on in his head I really don't know.

nannyjo · 20/05/2008 13:10

DS woke up this morning and said 'goog graciuos it's a lovely sunny day!!' bless him, dunno where he's heard it from. He's only 3.5

nannyjo · 20/05/2008 13:10

meant to be 'good gracious' doh

littlepinkpixie · 20/05/2008 13:13

My DD this morning (age 3.5) "Why does the cat always wear grey clothes?"

And my 1.3 year old - this is a thing she has done rather than said, but she went in her cot for her after lunch nap and I have just been to check up on her and she has turned on her monitor herself Good that she is being safe!
