I know, it's bloody hard work most of the time but sometimes you can't help laughing:

DD1 to MIL "Nanny, why have you got a hairy lip?"

DD1 (4yo) "I don't like sheepdogs"

DH: "Why not darling?"

DD1 "Well I get confused - are they sheep or are they dogs?"

DD2 (3) says 'for goodness sake' a lot, calls people 'cheeky nails (snails)' and 'little piggies' (Peppa Pig fan)

She also struggles to pronounce words properly and gets C and P muddled up quite a bit, so today we were reading a book and we said 'a for ant', b for 'bee', 'c for paterpillar'

Also calls cats 'cussy pats'
Calls her uncle chris 'uncle piss'

when having a discussion about dd tidying her toys or rather refusing to tidy up, I threatened i'd put them in the bin and said I really will for extra effect, her reply to me was "you really not will"

one that always makes me smile is my sister (whos now 22) when she was about 6. My dad was in bed and asked her to go and see if there were any letters, she dutifully went downstairs and came back up and told dad !no but there is some cabbage. She gone to check the fridge for lettuce lol

DS2 has been on form this week. We were watching some programme and some women appeared dressed in hotpants and bikini tops and he asked why the women were wearing 'boobie caps'. Where he got that from I don't know but it is strangely appropriate.

On Friday he decided that I should call him 'darling' all day on Saturday (don't ask me why - he just decided).

At breakfast on Saturday I asked him if he still wanted me to call him darling. Yes he said. DS1 decided as a result that it would be nice if I called him 'sweetheart' all day.

OK, I said what do you want to call me I asked, thinking it would be some loving endearment so suited to the mother they both so obviously adored.

There was a moments silence and then DS2 pipes up 'I think I'll call you Woodlouse'.

I was crushed.

Have only managed to read some of this thread but has made me alot. Reminded me what DS1 (just 3) said yesterday to his little friend - everything is a race at the moment and when he had wolfed down his ice cream first he annouced loudly in a restaurant "I have wind" Bless!
Wish I had got a book sooner - still keep meaning to get one - as I have forgotten loads already. He used to say "Do it by own" but now says "I'm doing it myself" and I don't know when that change happened
