My son is gifted and talented at playing musical chairs.

Ds aged 5 months is incredibly talented at removing himself from the tightest swaddle, then flailing around, startling and waking himself up.

He's also a champion dribbler, and has fantastic gross motor skills where it comes to waggling his head about and yanking his mum's boob with it.

DD2 could burp the entire alphabet when she was 3!(But didn't start to read till she was 6)

bumpybecky · 01/05/2008 13:59

dd2 stunned her Aunt by reading a passage from War of the Worlds (that her cousins who are 5 and 6 years older failed to read as well)

she then stunned said Aunt again by failing to know her left from her right when playing twister.....

DD is amazingly gifted and talented at learning all the words of songs in High School Musical on first hearing.

If only she could apply same fabulous talent to Latin and French vocab

FrannyandZooey · 01/05/2008 14:03

quite good at trumping
said today "doing big trumps makes you famous"

I admire his optimism

OverMyDeadBody · 01/05/2008 14:04

DS could identify every make of car by the time he was 3.

He is also a champion spinner. He can spin anything till it's a wizzing blur around him.

Cammelia · 01/05/2008 14:05

I think the car recognition thing is good, will make good witnesses

OverMyDeadBody · 01/05/2008 14:05

lol F&Z

My beloved daughters sing superbly...

...badly.

IAMI · 01/05/2008 14:12

Not my own ds but a friend of his aged seven has just won the family an all expenses paid trip to LA on a local radio station for doing a jingle in a Donald duck esq voice.

oopsadaisyangel · 01/05/2008 14:16

DS can walk on his toes when they are curled "under" his feet - its disgusting!!!

nkf · 01/05/2008 14:21

Whistling.

keevamum · 01/05/2008 14:22

DD1(7) is G and T at boxing on the Wii.
DD2 is G and T at singing nursery rhymes, she can sing any nursery rhyme and she is 22 months.

Iklboo · 01/05/2008 14:24

DS (2) - great at pulling faces (show me your happy face, show me your sad face)
Filling his nappy just after you've changed him

wilbur · 01/05/2008 14:35

Ds1 is supremely gifted at grandstanding - if he falls over he will lie there like a small beached whale waiting for the world to come to his assistance.

Dd can construct a princess outfit from any 5 items of clothing you give her.

Ds2 can undo any stairgate or restraining device he's faced with. Sigh. Although that could be useful in later life.

suedonim · 01/05/2008 14:48

Dd2 is the creme de la creme when it comes to spitting. She's had this talent since toddlerhood and can spit very accurately from a darn good distance.

choosyfloosy · 01/05/2008 14:52

at 4, ds is G&T at typing '71' into any form of remote control or device that looks even faintly like a remote control.

Can you get a GCSE in precision weeing?

The other night DS (who is 5 months) woke up at 2:30 with his teeth and a stinky nappy. As I blearily faffed with baby wipes, he generated a graceful arc of wee that hit him smack between the eyes. Obviously not expecting to be drenched in this way, he opened his mouth wide in shock, and scored a hole-in-one. That's got to be G&T, hasn't it?

becklespeckle · 02/05/2008 13:34

DS1 does the poo thing too Blue!

DS1 is G&T in sulky faces

DS" is G&T at getting dirty and going through the knees of jeans/trousers

DD is G&T at making sure every poo results in a change of clothing even if you change her immediately!

DumbledoresGirl · 02/05/2008 14:03

Not sure if this is totally useless and thus qualifies, but ds1 is G&T at playing the bottle - you know, filling bottles with varying amounts of water and then playing a tune by blowing across them. I can never get a sound out of them but he can work out proper tunes (He does play the flute which I can't get a sound out of either).

But is that a totally useless talent? I think it might serve him well on the comedy circuit if he fails all his GCSEs.

Or "Britain's Got Talent" - what do you think?

seeker · 02/05/2008 14:11

My dd makes fab fish cakes.
My ds can play the didgeridoo.

I have mentioned these talents before and no one seemed particularly impressed!

when my dd was about 1 she would answer 9 to any question you asked involving numbers. Oh the fun we had at competitive NCT tea parties asking her what 81 divided by 9 was, or what 1678320-1678311 was!
