Mine used to go to bed at 8pm at that age, earlier if tired.

YouHoooo · 13/09/2023 21:21

They’re all different - how much sleep do they need and what works for you?

Whatever time mine goes to bed she’s up by 630 absolute latest, so she’s in bed by 730 so she’s not tired. Plus we want an evening off!

My 3 year old goes to bed at 7 she doesn't nap and is always ready by then

DS is up and in bed for 7 most days. He has to be for 7am though so makes sense he goes up eary because otherwise he will be tired.

VivaVivaa · 13/09/2023 21:25

It depends how much sleep they need. They obviously aren’t robots but I’d try and have DS down for 8pm latest if I wanted him up and not hideous by 7:45am as he is pretty much a 12h guy. My friend’s DD copes fine on 10h overnight.

NioNioNio · 13/09/2023 21:25

630pm

Goldencup · 13/09/2023 21:26

Average sleep requirement is about q2 hours but the range is 10-14 so any time from 6-9 :30 pm really.

Cactuslove · 13/09/2023 21:28

I have a 2.5 yr old and 5 yr old... neither nap. Upstairs for 6.30pm normally asleep by 7pm.

Confusedalways5 · 13/09/2023 21:28

Similar to others my 3 year old is always tired and ready for bed about 7

AuntMarch · 13/09/2023 21:28

Recently 4, up for 6.30 usually, asleep between 7 and 8.

roseopose · 13/09/2023 21:29

My 3 year old gets up at 7am and goes to sleep at about 8pm, bedtime is a struggle. No nap.

RaceToTheMiddle · 13/09/2023 21:30

My 3 year old. No naps, upstairs about 7:15, usually asleep by 8pm. Awake around 7:30.

Sjes never needed much sleep. Stopped naps before reaching 1yr old.

edited to say- bedtime is not a struggle. 2 books and asleep

mynameiscalypso · 13/09/2023 21:41

Just turned 4 here but his routine has been the same for the last year or so. No naps. Generally in bed by 8pm, asleep by 8.30 or so. Awake around 7am.

fairyfluf · 13/09/2023 21:42

How do you all get them to sleep earlier?

Querypost · 13/09/2023 21:44

Asleep 8.30 ish, awake around 8.

Slippedmask · 13/09/2023 21:44

my 3 year old naps so I can’t help ! She has a 2 hour nap after lunch and goes to bed at 1030/11 pm

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 13/09/2023 21:45

Ugh - neither of mine will settle before 9. I am jealous of you all and your evenings.

BuffaloCauliflower · 13/09/2023 21:46

My almost 3 year old goes to sleep between 8.30-9 ish if he doesn’t nap, about 10 if he does. Naps are on their way out but he still needs them sometimes.

We do two stories, turn off the light and then tuck him up with kisses. He can get out of bed and does if he needs the toilet but he mostly just lies in bed chats to his teddies for a while and then falls asleep. The key in our case is consistency.

Chedderbites2 · 13/09/2023 21:51

Depends on how active they are too. I try and put my son into bed for 7.15 has 15 mins of reading etc then lights out 7.30. He has just started nursery has to wake at 07.30 and sometimes I catch him trying to have a sneaky nap in the day hes very tired so I may change to 7pm bed

Alloveragain3 · 13/09/2023 22:24

About 8-8.30pm over here.

But he wouldnt "sleep in" until 7.45am; more like 7am (or 6.30am if we're unlucky).

Usually mine are 8.30 for the youngest and 9 for the elder child. I don't know about you, but I'd prefer a shorter evening and not be woken too early!?

TheSnailAndTheWaaaail · 14/09/2023 07:29

Mine went to bed at 8pm at that age and slept til just after 7

Caledoniadreaming · 14/09/2023 10:13

Mine goes upstairs any time between 6.30pm and 7pm, and is usually asleep by about 7.45pm. No naps- which is an absolute godsend. He's at an outdoor nursery and is on the go all day.

Downside is that regardless of when he goes to bed, his internal alarm clock goes off at 5.30 EVERY SINGLE DAY.

SummerInSun · 14/09/2023 10:15

Mine would wake up between 6:30-7am and to go to sleep at 7:45pm at that age. Still napped on weekends but only very short nap at nursery.
