Blackout thermal blind or shutters?

Hi, we've just moved and DS room is 25 degrees tonight because the sun sets on his room. I have a tommee Tippee blackout blind and blackout curtains, but the blind is definitely making the room hotter.

I'm thinking of getting thermal blackout blinds as I hear they keep the room cooler in the summer? And if so, would a dark colour be ok or make it hotter?! My FIL also mentioned that white shutters would work well too, but I'm not sure if that will be dark enough really.

Not sure what to do for the best! Thanks!
