Finally found a flat I like/ can afford but there's no bath!!

Bit of backstory I live at home with parents and my 1 year old, work part time and also receive benefits. I've been trying to move out for months but landlords where I live don't like taking on people on benefits and alsoo it's so hard to find anything where I live within my budget. So I found a flat not too far away in an ok location which is sort of in my budget that I like BUT it has no bath. (My daughter has oilatum baths for her eczema). I was looking at those foldable baths but I'm not sure one would fit in the shower because of the shape of it, it's a smallish corner shower. Is there any solution to this.. Am I over thinking it or should I leave it

Take it! I bathed my DC in a tub in the shower for years. I’ll try and find you a link to what we had

TooMinty · 15/04/2023 20:12

My in-laws have an inflatable bath that they put in the shower tray, works pretty well

cadburyluver · 15/04/2023 20:12

Take it
Can you put a bath in yourself ? I know a bit extreme but that's what I would consider doing

I want to post a picture of the shower but dunno if it's a bit weird posting someone else's bathroom lol, it's just an awkward shape I'm not sure if you'd get a foldable bath in it

@cadburyluver didn't think of that but now you say it I'm still not sure one would fit it's quite a small bathroom/ shower room

You can't do that I'm rentals.

Some people just haven't got a clue 🙄

hdkwjrbek · 15/04/2023 20:16

@BernadetteIsMySister lol I did think that! Thought maybe some landlords are more lenient 😂

Take the flat.
Use an inflatable paddling pool in the shower to make it into a bath that will fit any shape.

hdkwjrbek · 15/04/2023 20:19

@CatOnTheChair oh I see! That's so clever would never have thought of that

Would any kind of inflatable pool work?

OP posts:
CatOnTheChair · 15/04/2023 20:21

Well, ideally not one too big!
I've done it with the pools with the rings you blow up and a soft plstic base.

hdkwjrbek · 15/04/2023 20:22

@CatOnTheChair 😂 thank you

Another one suggesting an inflatable bath. We use one for travelling

Stratocumulus · 15/04/2023 20:27

Stand her in the shower. Oil her up and gently rinse off. If she’s too young to stand but will fit into a washing up bowl or similar, or sit her on a towel in the base of the cubicle, just do it that way. If shower too strong for her, use a jug or two of warm water. Job done. You’ll find a way. Take the flat!

hdkwjrbek · 15/04/2023 20:27

I realise I'm asking stupid questions but I need to get my head around this lol, would you deflate it after every bath?

OP posts:
hdkwjrbek · 15/04/2023 20:28

@Stratocumulus I just feel guilty cause she loves her baths and playing with all her bath toys id feel bad taking that away from her 🥺

Take the flat, you'll find a way and before long, she'll be fine with showers anyway.

You can give her baths in your mums, like a special part of going to visit.

clopper · 15/04/2023 20:30

My DD uses a foldable dog bath.

qpmz · 15/04/2023 20:31

Get a waterproof plastic sheet and put the tub on top of it on the floor in the bedroom or bathroom to bathe her. Good luck!

Danikm151 · 15/04/2023 20:33

No bath was a deal breaker for me when looking for a new place.
luckily I found a place with a bath but did look up inflatable baths - around £8-£10 on amazon for a toddler sized one.

You have a hard choice then! If you put in a plug she’ll likely have an inch or two to play in?
She sounds adorable but don’t give up the chance of independence for the sake of bath toys she’ll grow out of soon enough. A bath at Grandmas would be a lovely treat too! X

HelpNeeded7 · 15/04/2023 20:36

What about those trug things from garden centres or cheap shops,.like a bucket, but bigger. They are flexible with handles....

TooMinty · 15/04/2023 20:36

I wouldn't bother deflating it every time if she has regular baths, just stand it on its side out the way when you shower. There's still space for bath toys and the best thing is you can shut the shower cubicle so you don't get splashed 😂

Stratocumulus · 15/04/2023 20:37

A trug is a great idea! Look on Amazon. Come in lovely colours and handy for toy storage as she gets older.

stephn88 · 15/04/2023 20:39

Look up dog paddling pool, we use one in our garden for the kids instead of a blow up paddling pool. They fold to any shape etc....
