Omg she's been a fucking tyrant this evening! DP brought her to bed at 12 and she's not stopped since. She's been crying and whinging, we've changed her nappy, given her cuddles, milk, everything and she still won't go to sleep!? It's been nearly 4 hours!?

DP ended up sleeping in DS' bed (DS went to has dad's this evening, thank god) and I had to have DD on the king with me for her to finally settle down. It was not a fun experience for any of us. Made it from 4am to 8am. Just sent DP back to our bed while I deal with little miss whingebag

I think we are dealing with reflux. Any one else having this? Last three nights he is up pretty much every hour in the night and pulling knees to chest and screaming. He is breast fed and seemingly does struggling to get wind up so I had thought colic but now also bringing milk up. Sooooo tired xx

@Thirdtimesacharm3 we’re struggling with baby being sicky. Recommendation from midwives was to gently wind and keep upright for 30 mins after a feed. It makes the night feeds longer but it’s definitely helped. Don’t get me wrong, he still spits up but not as bad as he did. Keep an eye on it and if no improvement as they get bigger then see the GP

havananana · 25/03/2023 11:24

We find best to change nappy first and then feed + burp + cuddle upright. So by the time that cycle has been completed, there's barely any dribble left, just hiccups sometimes.

I've got some little wins :
Had a 5h sleep stretch record last night
My wedding ring fits my finger again 🙌
Bleeding less - going from maternity pads to normal

What are your little wins?

Rainbowbaby23 · 25/03/2023 12:52

Are people cramping alot? Im day 5 PP and cramps seem to be worse today than before

TeddyBeans · 25/03/2023 13:54

@Rainbowbaby23 I remember having awful afterpains with DS but haven't had any with DD. It's down to your uterus contracting back to it's usual size. They shouldn't last too much longer for you

Dreamingof3 · 25/03/2023 13:56

My after pains are horrific but they apparently get worse with each baby 😅

Rainbowbaby23 · 25/03/2023 14:01

Oh dear, good thing this is my one and only😂
baby has a lump on the back of his neck that midwife checked and said to make an appointment with the gp to get it checked

Blocklynn · 25/03/2023 15:14

No afterpains here. I’ve been quite surprised how quickly my tummy has gone back down.
Expected more of a bump for longer.

TeddyBeans · 25/03/2023 16:11

@Rainbowbaby23 hopefully the lump is nothing to worry about 🤞

Same! I'm also back down to my booking weight which I wasn't expecting, although lower stomach is still holding on to a little fluid but I expected much more.

Still getting a bit emotional about my inability to produce enough breast milk but all in all doing ok - I think it's more as it's taking the decision away from me and I feel a bit judged although nobody is judging me 😂

Finally time to graduate to this board 🥳 Toby was born 21/3 Via c section after getting stuck. He was 11lb7oz and as some of you may have seen on the FB group has alllll of the rolls 😂 we got home 24/3 evening and I've finally had my 2nd post birth shower. Who knew how exhausting and amazing a shower could be. We had to stay in a bit longer as I had urine retention and had to have the catheter put back in and Toby had low blood sugar and jaundice.

Toby is doing well, I'm slowly becoming more mobile and we're settling in as a family of 4.

I'll try catch up with the rest of the thread properly during the night feed :)

TeddyBeans · 25/03/2023 18:25

@Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels congratulations 🥰 I may have squealed over his rolls already hope you're doing well now you're home after a tricky start!

Dreamingof3 · 25/03/2023 19:30

@Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels @TeddyBeans I've definitely had a little eeek over his rolls ...what an absolute squishy cutie!

I've managed two quick showers but going to treat myself to a hair wash tomorrow....if I feel up to it, been ordered to take it easier than I have been 😂

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 25/03/2023 19:33

@TeddyBeans @Dreamingof3 I wish it was acceptable to have rolls like that as an adult 😂

@Dreamingof3 I washed my hair tonight and I feel amazing! I'm finding recovery so different this time. I didnt have a c section with my first and I couldn't sit on my poor vagina for ages. I can sit down now but I can't do much else 😅

Dreamingof3 · 25/03/2023 19:43

@Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels this is my third section and it's the hardest recovery, but I think it's easy to forget what a big surgery it is when you've got a new baby and other kids to look after, as you're so used to just sorting everyone else out first! I'm 100% spending the next few days doing absolutely nothing as I don't want to set myself back!
Sitting down is ok...it's the getting there or back up that is hard 😂 and laughing, coughing...

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 25/03/2023 19:45

@Dreamingof3 ah see I had Pgp pre birth and didn't do much for 4 weeks, my poor husband did absolutely everything. So I'm in a good place for picking up what I can, when I can manage. But my god the laughing is killing me 😂

Cats23 · 25/03/2023 19:57

I feel I want the FB link but im used to everyones user names here - How would I even know who is who🤣
Just to be clear- my name is not a nn ' Cat' ...I have 2x cats and its 2023🤣

Cats23 · 25/03/2023 19:58

No after pains with babies 1,2,3 or 5....but 4....awful, I actually went to A&E as I didnt know it was afterpain and I was in so much pain , that I believed it couldnt be that!

Cats23 · 25/03/2023 20:59

Is anyone else really thirtsy? I drink enough but fizzy drinks are only just quenching thirst- alongside water.
In pregnancy, lemonade is the only fizzy drink that didnt make me feel sick..Ive now started drinking coke again which is always first thing I go off in pregnancy! Im 13 days pp

Rainbowbaby23 · 25/03/2023 23:28

Hi all, as my baby is getting drowsy his eyes roll back and almost move side to side. They become quite jerky and then he goes off to sleep
is this normal? Anxious ftm😂

Dreamingof3 · 26/03/2023 03:33

@Cats23 yes sooo thirsty, I would've expected it if I was breastfeeding but I'm not!
