Just got into my first post birth bath and oh my god it's glorious! Can't believe it's been almost 3 weeks since I last had one 😱 seems like a crazy long time when I literally had a bath every day for 9 months

Congratulations @Dreamingof3 how are you feeling 😊

@TeddyBeans I miss baths so much. They are a luxury now I've 3 children and have only had one or two in past 3 weeks. Hope you enjoyed it.

Talking of baths lol I had a c section, does anyone know when it's ok to have a bath? I am assuming after 6 weeks as 6 weeks seems to be the answer for everything 😂😂😂

Report

TeddyBeans · 20/03/2023 22:15

@beatingheartbaby not sure, I've never had a section but Google results vary from 2-3 weeks up to 6 weeks. Maybe have a look to see if you can ask a midwife online? I did a virtual chat with one when I wasn't sure if I should bother my own midwife with what felt like a silly question

@beatingheartbaby I think I was told to wait the six weeks but I definitely did it before last time 😂 I'd just make sure your incision is healing well and don't use anything heavily perfumed if anything at all

Report

beatingheartbaby · 21/03/2023 04:10

@TeddyBeans ah that's a good idea, didn't know virtual midwifw was even a thing!

@Dreamingof3 yeah I am healing ok and pat the 4 week mark now so would probably be ok I'm just paranoid.

Couldn't really enjoy baths when I was pregnant as would end up stuck in the tub 😂😂😂 so looking forward to actually being able to get in and out of one on my own

I was told 2 weeks

@beatingheartbaby I amazed myself with how easily I could get in and out of the bath yesterday 😂 it's the little things we definitely take for granted isn't it?

First day today for me being a solo parent after pat leave has ended! Not sure how I feel; not overly nervous as I have no expectations of what I’ll get done, or won’t get done! But very much thinking it’ll drag!

Well my airbed has died a death, I don't know why as there's no obvious hole, so I got to spend last night in bed with DP 🥳🥳 nothing beats your own bed! Little miss slept beautifully in her cot. She woke up for feeds at 1.50 and 5am - the latter was a 30ml top up so hoping she'll drop that one soon 🤞

How's everyone else getting on with sleep?

@Shep21 enjoy! I find it incredibly peaceful going solo, bubs sleeps so much that I can practically do what I want 😁

Ah shame it died but bed sounds much nicer to be in your own bed! Feeding/sleepwise that sounds awesome!

We're still trying to get him to sleep in the next to me crib but he's just not a fan! On us or the sleepyhead is his thing, although after us tag teaming holding him all night he slept in his crib 8am to 10.45 and I feel amazing for a bit of unblocker sleep!

I'm still trying to establish milk supply - c-section and losing a litre of blood seems to have really hampered it so were formula feeding on the main and expressing 6-8 times a Day but only getting enough for one feed atm 🤦🏻‍♀️ really hoping this improves so we can do a bit more but trying to not put too much pressure on myself.

@TeddyBeans not so great on the sleep front.
She is quite unsettled at night, I think she might be struggling to poop and getting tummy ache 😣
As I have been struggling DH has been sleeping for a few hours in the evening, then doing night shift downstairs with Evie and then me getting up and him going back to bed about 5-6am.
We can’t carry on like that forever though so not sure what else we can try.

Oooo good luck, hope it goes well! Good to not put any pressure on yourself.

So lovely to see all these beautiful babies being born!

Baby boy is exclusively BF has been feeding every 3-4 hours until this evening where he wants to feed every hour, is this normal? I'm exhausted

So our first night home! I'd not slept at all since going in Monday morning, so I went up to bed at 7pm and swapped with my partner at 2am! The sleep was lovely but that's definitely too long without painkillers and I'm now trying to catch up 😔

First day alone with little miss went fine! She happily goes down if she’s asleep and fed so managed to have some time to get washing done! It’s great not to pressure yourself and loads of family keep saying they can come and help. However it feels great keeping on top of everything myself. Obviously if she stops letting me then it’ll have to change! But for now I’m enjoying her being so chilled out!

Sounds like cluster feeding, he's probably having a growth spurt!

Little man slept in his cot from 3am to 7:15am I feel like I've had 10 hours unbroken sleep 🤣

Also spoke to the NCT feeding line about how to transition to more breast feeding than bottle and increase supply so feel good to have a bit of an action plan.
