@Decadesbcun glad you had a lovely holiday, we live in Dorset and the weather has been beautiful, great for the beach!
We have a bit of a feeding routine but it's all so confusing and most of the time it feels like all he does is eat and I'm just left wondering whether he's having too much 😂 It starts with me breastfeeding in the morning when he wakes up, then porridge around 9am (I started with the powdered pouches when he was 4/5 months but have now moved onto ready brek, soooo much cheaper, mix some fruit in with it and he loves it) Then a nap, then formula bottle around 11.30am, then lunch around 1pm (usually pureed veg although today blitzed our left over lasagne and he seemed to love it!) Then another formula bottle around 4pm, dinner at about 5.30pm (normally pureed fruit or some plain yogurt with fruit in - i think the petit filous have a bit too much sugar in them at this age?) Then breastfeed and bottle before bed. It's exhausting constantly feeding him but I've managed to wean him off the boob during the day so at least I've been able to leave him a few times!
@Curlymam88 I'm always rocking things that don't need to be rocked or swaying backwards and forwards when I'm stood talking to someone as if I'm holding a baby 🤣 I look like I've gone mad! Gorgeous photos of Leola ❤
@jadey1991 sorry to hear Josiah had the sickness bug, I'm dreading Dex getting it, how was he with it? He looks so cute in that pic!
Dex has cut his first tooth and is finally able to roll front to back, our little babies are growing up!

Curlymam88 · 20/06/2022 17:32

@burtle4 you sound like you have a good routine there. Leola naps when she wants to, sometimes she has an extra nap early afternoon, sometimes a nap at 4. She's not really on a set time still. Think that's what makes it difficult for me.
And thank you for the comment. And I'm glad I'm not the only mad looking one around 😂

2020mission · 20/06/2022 18:25

What's wrong with council juice (aka tap water 😅) I guess England probably process it differently I'm sure it doesn't come from sewage in Scotland. I hope! I do drink tap water but I have a jug with a filter in it so it's not direct from the tap often.

I've still not fed Matthew any food yet 😆 hes got to be the only one still waiting?? He's 6 months old a week today - I will be giving him some this week starting tomorrow.

@jadey1991 aww Josiah looks lovely there. You don't sound selfish at all being fed up with breastfeeding you've been going for 6 months, some people don't make it that far. It is hard going, believe me I know!

@Curlymam88 😂 I've totally stood rocking the crib when Matthew wasn't in it... deep in conversation with my husband and he lifts him out and I'm just on autopilot and don't even realise. Must be more awkward when in public though right enough haha. Leola's hair does look so different much lighter, longer and straighter. Was it dark and curly originally or did I imagine that? Matthew still has very little hair.

@jadey1991 Thanks hun yeah it's from 6 months (although admittedly I started a little sooner just 2 weeks ago) for a 47g (no added sugar small pot) is 2.3g sugar.....everything has natural sugars in but the advise is no added sugar or lower sugar x
@Curlymam88 aw she's so adorable with her new trim.....my hubby keeps joking about taking oscar to the barbers 🤣 he's got quite alot of hair too! It's each to their own hun and what works for somes routine won't work for others.....I normally try feed him food half hour or so before he's due a bottle (so he's not agitated or crying for bottle when the food comes around) he normally eats half a jar or sachet worth then he will still take around 60 or 90ml afterwards his routine atm is wake up at 6am bottle at 7am porridge at 9am, bottle at 10:30, lunch sachet at 12,bottle at 1pm,bottle at 4pm,dinner jar and petit filou at 5pm then final bottle and bed at 7pm. He's then wakes at 11pm for another bottle AND 2 or 3am for another bottle 😅 I'm exhausted to say the least, especially fitting all that around our other 4 children's routines, lunches, dinners etc
@burtle4 I am giving serious evils through my phone at your extra hour and a half gap in-between feeds 🤣 agree with ready brek I normally try to switch too late though as they get used to creamy texture from baby porridge....then ours all gag on ready break!
Interested is anyone else's baby still doing 3 hourly feeds....I know eventually he will go longer without so I'm not worried but its nice seeing how different routines are around our different life styles.

@lovebeingmum9 haha, sorry 😂 to be fair he still feeds again at around 1am and sometimes again at about 5am so maybe it means he's not getting enough in the day?! 🤷‍♀️ Like you say, they're all different and each settle into their own routine, I definitely feel like we're just muddling through! He looks very healthy and happy though in your pics so whatever you're doing must be right!

jadey1991 · 20/06/2022 19:28

@burtle4 hey hun Josiah was quite wheezy with it and coughing a lot. I had to take him hospital a couple times because he was working hard on his breathing but other then that he was actually happy within himself. Thanks for liking his pic. Aww dex has his first tooth I don't know if you can see it in the pic I posted of Josiah u can see his teeth xxx

@2020mission thanks for the support. I breastfed my youngest daughter till the age of 3 years so traumatised... oh the tap water over here is nasty. Aww bless I'm sure you will know when Matthew is ready..

It's so lovely seeing pics of everyone baby... It so exciting to know that we have done this far together. From being pregnant to now having 6+ month old babies...

I have to say thanks to all you mums for the support and still being here chatting away. I give u all big hugs from a distance

@Theawkwardblonde - sorry to hear that, it must be so difficult! Sending my love 🤍

Can't believe how big our babies are 😩

I keep looking on the pregnancy forums and see "Due December 2022" and it makes me emotional! I'm more hormonal now than after having Jack! I cried so much at our friends wedding at the weekend 😂

Jack was 6months on Saturday, he now sits up and loves it! He's been on food since 4 months but is now going into more foods. He had omelette for dinner tonight!

Tonight is also his first night in his room, he's slept through the night for about 2/3months but stirs at like 5am (never for a bottle) when my husbands alarm goes off so I just think it's time to see if he stays asleep the whole time 🤞🏼

@JW2021 - we've defo made 2 beautiful little Jacks 😏

@LouLou0505 omg jack looks soooooo damn cute... he has arms like Josiah awwwwwww... girl you look good too. How cute is your little family. Oh I'm the same when it comes to being emotional..
I think we have all made some cute babies

OP posts:
LouLou0505 · 20/06/2022 20:39

@jadey1991 - you've got to love the chunky arms!! I'll get Jack weighed this week as I do it once a month so I can put it in his book. He's already in size 4 nappies and 9-12month clothes 😩

Aw thank you! A bit of fake tan can do wonders, if you could see me now slobbed on the sofa 😂

Such cute babies! Just can't believe time has gone so quick for us all!

Decadesbcun · 20/06/2022 20:51

So I tried Seth with broccoli at lunch time, I gave him one ‘tree’ and then some purée. He had one bite, pulled a face then spat it out haha He took about 2 spoons of the purée. But other that the odd bit of banana when I eat one he’s never had food so it’ll take some getting used to I guess.
I wasn’t sure whether to just give one meal a day for this week then go to two next week? I have some banana porridge I could try him with too. Fruit wise I have some mango and some smushed up raspberries to try and veg wise some sweet potato, cauliflower and butternut squash. It is so much effort for him to have like 2 spoons so I may just have to move onto giving him what I eat.

All the babies are super cute :) and are really starting to get their own personalities now.

Decadesbcun · 20/06/2022 20:54

@2020mission Seth is 6 months old next week too. I only started him today properly with food. I think he would have been ready a couple of weeks ago but as we were away last week I wanted to get that out the way before we started.
I wouldn’t worry though, NHS guidance is 6 months so just do it whenever you and Matthew are ready :)

jadey1991 · 20/06/2022 21:00

@LouLou0505 I actually need to get Josiah weighed. I haven't done so for a will. Yes Josiah is size 4 nappies too but soon to be a 5 because 4's can be a little tight... he is in 6/9months. Defo gotta love the chunky arms... oh stop it I bet you don't look bad at all

OP posts:
jadey1991 · 20/06/2022 21:02

@Decadesbcun awww Seth don't like broccoli? They are bland tho. I like to add salt to mine
🫣🫣sweet potato is really nice... Josiah likes that.. it's from Ella's kitchen.. x

OP posts:
Theawkwardblonde · 21/06/2022 08:18

@2020mission yep right about my work sector..hated on mumsnet 😂

@LouLou0505 aww we have the same paddling pool as you, the dinosaur one? 😂

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies. I'm feeling much better now after the shock of it all. We've been weaning baby S since about 5 months. Just using Ella's kitchen purées atm. Our food is a bit too varied for baby so haven't made my own purées yet. It's gone down great. We started with one meal a day, now on two.

Also made the transition into own room a few weeks ago too which has been brilliant. I'm ashamed to say it but I've missed having our room to ourselves. Love just curling up in bed to read which I haven't been able to do in a while!

Anyone finishing mat leave soon? I'm on a countdown now. It's 6 weeks but feels like it'll soon be here.

jadey1991 · 21/06/2022 22:13

@Theawkwardblonde glad you are feeling much better hun. Does baby s like her food? Don't feel bad about saying you want your room back. I wish I could 🤦🏽‍♀️ but unfortunately I can't.

Good morning all? I hope your all doing well and your lovely babies too...

He gets himself to sleep ( mainly at night time)..

Hi @jadey1991 we are good here thanks. Ive given up trying to cook Leola her own meals as our health visitor advised and just been giving her 7months jar of foods, they have the lumps in so the same kind of thing. Find it quicker and easier so they'll do atm. Shes enjoying ready brek with Raspberries and Blueberries atm.
How are you? Is josiah maybe like that because of the heat? Leola has been like that, the heat has been a bit of a shock to her lol.
No news here really though.

She's gorgeous @Curlymam88! @jadey1991 Dexter is getting a bit wingy at the moment when he gets frustrated with not being able to crawl I think! You can see he really wants to go but isn't strong enough yet. He really wants to be able to do things that he hasn't worked out yet and he gets so annoyed! Other than that he is so cute at the moment and learning so much. He's in a pretty good routine now, meals three times a day and happy to try most foods. Sleeping a lot better and napping better too!

Curlymam88 · 28/06/2022 12:05

Thank you @burtle4 glad Dexter is settling into a routine. same here, Leola seems to be getting into more of a routine now where there wasn't much of one before. She has 2 naps in the morning then afternoon then she sleeps all night too which I'm so relieved about. My other daughter was an absolute nightmare sleeper when she was 6/7 months.
These few months have gone so quick. I been a bit emotional this week thinking about it 😫

jadey1991 · 28/06/2022 13:13

@Curlymam88 aww bless her she looks so adorable.. Josiah loves mangos and bananas... I'm doing ok thanks hun. He might be like that because of the heat. I tried him on a bottle yesterday and he drank an ounce lol. Need him to drink more lol.

Thank you @jadey1991 so does josiah. I love his expressions 😁so cute. I'm glad you're doing ok. Well that's good, its a start. Hopefully he'll get used to it and have a bit more for you 😊leola loves mangoes too! She's not so keen on veg no matter how many times I try. That'll probably and hopefully change though as she gets older.

Curlymam88 · 28/06/2022 13:21

....saying that...I only like peas and carrots myself 😐

jadey1991 · 28/06/2022 13:42

@burtle4 aww bless him yeah I think Josiah gets like that too when he is on his front... when Josiah is on his back he lifts his head up too
