I'm starting A200 which is History from 1400 - 1900. I know that Rosa did this one last year so I'm hoping to be seeing lots of her this year

What's everyone else doing?

Everyone out there okay?

All you 217 types getting on okay with that assignment?

Agnes

bossybritches · 08/02/2008 12:34

Hi Agnes- no, shitty week so I'm hoping to get my head down over some books this w/e

Have told DH firmly he is on Parenting Duty & WILL take the kids out somewhere for a LONG time!!

agnesnitt · 09/02/2008 20:34

I've managed to get through the intro book, but with a four year old, a six month old and nobody else in the house I take my chances where I can. Will be throwing myself at the essay on Monday I hope.

Good luck.

tasha22 · 09/02/2008 20:55

agnes know how you feel i have a 5 month old a 1 year old and a 3 year old. just as well the older 2 go to bed at 7. ive completed my rough draft of first assignment but need to take alot out because im well over the word limit.

bobsyouruncle · 10/02/2008 18:10

Meebles, I'm doing the same course!

agnesnitt · 14/02/2008 10:39

eTMA01 for A217 submitted last night with 60 words and 52 minutes to spare

Next stop: Islam...

Agnes

MarsLady · 14/02/2008 10:41

So far I've submitted 2 TMAs for A215. Got 70% and then 71% so grade creeping up. Am starting French but my DVD player has died so need a new one sigh...... first TMA due end of March.

agnesnitt · 14/02/2008 10:56

Well done on those grades I suspect that the one for the assignment I just handed in will be very poor. First essay in about eight years, and a small boy with man-flu wince

Will be better prepared for number two however, I'm getting a new pooter and a new study area.

bossybritches · 17/02/2008 22:18

Well we've had our first tutorial!

Brilliant tutor who completely inspired me to go home & get cracking.

Sadly RL & children conspired against me but did manage an hour this afternoon so feel very virtuous snigger now got to find time for the other 4 hours !!!

bossybritches · 17/02/2008 22:19

Yetanother- we had several students on our course form Lincoln who had somehow been allocated Nottingham tutors. They'd come along to the Lincoln ones & swapped tutors I think.

agnesnitt · 19/02/2008 12:09

I couldn't make the first tutorial, and the second doesn't look promising either

Sucks really, as I could really do with the input.

Agnes

bossybritches · 19/02/2008 21:11

It really bucked me up Agnes & I think I will trey my damndest to go to as many as I can. Bit like going to WW or SW support groups-you KNOW you can do it on your own but the group support can rerally help you keep going!!

Is it childcare problems that stop you or work? (sorry to be nosy)

agnesnitt · 19/02/2008 22:41

Childcare I also have no transport of my own, and the train to Leeds and back isn't a short affair

I'm hoping to make one or two of them as the course goes on, but I'm not that optimistic to be honest. I suspect I shall be relying on the reports from my tutor on my essays to get me through.

Have you had your first TMA back? Mine came back indecently quickly

Agnes

bossybritches · 20/02/2008 09:54

No ours isn't due in till the 4th April so I have time to panic get it done before then.

agnesnitt · 20/02/2008 14:11

Bonne chance with it then, a damn good panic seems to sort out most essay woes

I'm doing W300 law. Agrippina, on the law course you can go to any tutorial you like in the country. There's a form you can contact the tutor with letting them know you are going to attend. Hope that helps

Sketchi · 23/02/2008 19:53

I'm a OU virgiin. I'm studying Biological Psychology - exploring the brain SD226. Anyone else doing it?

I have 14 month old and 5 months preggers with dc2. Did Law at uni, so hopefully will organise my time as and where I can strategically! lol!

agrippina · 24/02/2008 12:50

Thanks Sketchi I think I need to find out a bit more about the tutorials as I think the I will have to miss the first one as we will be celebrating our daughter's 16th birthday on that day. I would like to attend a tutorial as I am finding that I feel a bit isolated on the course.

allsopp · 12/02/2009 18:45

Hi I am doing S343 Inorganic chemistry, SXM390 the project course and finishing off S205 this year. I am just starting SXM390 tips on projects welcome.

i opted for online tutorials and am happy with lyceum

but you peeps keep on talking about forums and cafés and stuff, and i can't find them, nor do i know what they are for and if i need them!

can anyone please help?

pumpkinsoup · 14/02/2009 19:56

bossybritches, am almost seething with jealousy - your doing the E123 NOW! I wish I was, but was told in December/January they weren't running it anymore, and I had to wait for the E100 in October. maybe it was full?

Oh and the E123 &E124 look so good, whereas nobody knows yet about the E100. And then I might have been able to do the level2 Working with Children and Families before that course finished. It is too late to start the E123 isn't it? Does anybody know how different replacement courses are to the previous courses.

Anyway, which degree are you heading for? I'd love a BA in Early Years, but the professional development courses look so boring! I'm not sure how useful the BA (Hons)childhood and youth studies will be.

pumpkinsoup · 14/02/2009 20:07

Is there a stupid emoticon? Just realised that was 2008, and it is now 2009! hmmm, maybe uni isn't such a bright idea....

Anyway Bossybritches, would still love to know how its going, what your plan is etc.
