What time do your children go to bed?

My little one is 4 and she's in bed at 7pm most nights.

1yo -7.30
4yo - between 7.30-8pm

cliffdiver · 26/01/2022 18:45

When DDs were a similar age they went to bed between 6.30 and 7pm, depending on how tired they were.

CatCup · 26/01/2022 18:45

7 on the dot!! We're just starting to let dd5 stay up a little bit sometimes.

SummerHouse · 26/01/2022 18:47

This is the golden hour op. Keep it as long as you can. Mine are 10 and 12 and now going to bed at 8.30 but we held on dearly to 7pm for a long time. Selfishly because we wanted a bit of the evening but also because sleep is so important to them. They are very emotional when tired.

ButWhereDidTheWindComeFrom · 26/01/2022 18:48

Mine are not tht young but 10 and 12 and they go to bed between 8.00-9.00. Lights out at 9.

But we are up quite early- 5.30 for me and 6 for the Dcs.

DrWankincense · 26/01/2022 18:48

My 5 year old goes upstairs between 6.30-7.30 depending on how tired he is. Mostly 7pm on a school night as he's shattered but he does ask to go earlier sometimes

Simonjt · 26/01/2022 18:51

6 year old around 7:15pmish, small baby doesn’t have a bedtime, she likes sleeping in daylight, night not so much.

BrambleRoses · 26/01/2022 18:52

13 months - 730.

jelly79 · 26/01/2022 18:53

4YO better 7-7:30

BobbyeinArkansas · 26/01/2022 18:53

8 yo. Aim for bedtime at 7.30, lights out at 8. Usually I hear singing until 8.30. They usually get up at 7.45 in the morning.

Eileen101 · 26/01/2022 18:56

Almost 4 year old - between 6 and 6.30 generally. Often moved forward to 5.30-6, as they like they're sleep and get very tired and emotional.

Almost 2 year old - still naps in the day so more like 6.30-7, sometimes 7-7.30.

Eileen101 · 26/01/2022 18:56

*their sleep

MintMe · 26/01/2022 18:56

DS5 - upstairs at 7pm or close to it. Two stories then lights out. Downstairs by 7.15pm. I know I'm incredibly lucky!

TinyTeacher · 26/01/2022 19:04

When she was 4, 8pm for DD. Any earlier and she tended not to drop off for a while and and up staying up longer! Now she ends up going to bed at 8.45 and is miserable in the mornings :-( (issue with juggling twin brothers)

SummerInSun · 26/01/2022 19:05

We start the routine of bath, stories, teeth brushing, last toilet trip at 7pm and aim for lights out with our 5 year old between 7:45-8pm. 8 year old can stay awake reading to himself to 8:15pm.

FloatyBoaty · 26/01/2022 19:07

5yo in bed by 7.45 and asleep by 8. Any earlier and he’s up at 5am. Which I can’t bear. As it is, he wakes 6.30-7, which I can.

Mediocrates · 26/01/2022 19:09

DD10 is lights out by 9, and DS14 is 10.45. They get up just after 7am. Later today bed and also later getting up and weekends

JesusKGM · 26/01/2022 19:10

My ds goes to bed 4-5am and i am completely at loss how to shift him back to normal sleep routine

User0ne · 26/01/2022 19:12

Ds3&5 during term time between 6 and 7pm depending on how tired they are. The longer holidays 8-9pm.

The baby- whenever is convenient for us. He sleeps well in a sling if I'm busy doing stuff

cazinge · 26/01/2022 19:15

19mo old is in bed 6.15-6.30pm & 3.5yo 6.30-6.45pm (has has a 2nd story in his bedroom after small one has gone to bed). I'm back downstairs by 7 most nights. Bath is every other night. 19mo old wakes 6.45-7am and 3.5yo gets up at 7am when his gro clock changes. He may get up earlier for a wee but goes back until clock changes. 19mo naps for 1-2 hrs in the afternoon still.

I am v grateful but we have been so strict on bedtime / wake up time. 3.5yo dropped naps at 22mo so bedtime was 6pm for a bit. They both need their sleep and get v cranky without it.

JanuaryPinks · 26/01/2022 19:15

14 month old - 7-7.30
3.5 year old 7.30-8.

I put them both to bed most of the time so do the baby first.

Mumoblue · 26/01/2022 19:18

My 2 year old goes up at about 6:45 to 7ish. We have a few stories and then a cuddle.

Unfortunately he’s going through a phase of just laying there awake for about an hour. 😩 I tried pushing back his bedtime but that made it worse!

gogohm · 26/01/2022 19:19

Around 7.30/8, they are night owls and lie in as late as I let them. Never was rigid though.

Bobholll · 26/01/2022 19:20

DD reception age - 7.30pm, she’s out like a light.

DD age 22 months - 7pm but she spends a good hour going to sleep 🤦🏼‍♀️ She really struggles falling asleep but does sleep soundly once she’s out. Doesn’t matter what time we do bedtime, 7pm,8pm,9pm .. it’ll be 45-60 minutes of settling! I think we need to cut down naps 😭 On the days she does an hour car nap, she falls asleep much faster! Imma bit gutted that she’s needing short naps before she’s two though!
