Just curious to see what the norm is, my 11wo daughter is sleeping longer stretches now so I’m wondering if it might be coming back soon…

8 months.

ForestLake · 19/12/2021 22:39

8 months. But I was combi-feeding.

Ruthietuthie · 19/12/2021 22:48

I stopped just before my child turned two. My period returned about four months after that. So more than three years without a period.
Interestingly, since they returned my cycle is shorter. It used to be every 28 days and is now every 24. It also took two years for my feet to return to their pre-birth size.

DS fed until 2 1/2 years and stopped a couple of months ago….. still not had one!

MonkeyPuddle · 19/12/2021 23:08

8months I had a full bleed so I had a coil fitted. I’ve been spitting ever since and she’s 13mo.

ShiftingSands21 · 19/12/2021 23:14

Thirtytimesround · 19/12/2021 23:15

16 months.

It depends how offen they nurse.

Thepowerofthelook · 19/12/2021 23:17

Both times within two weeks of weaning.

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 19/12/2021 23:17

9 months for my first, 14 months for my second.

FolkSongSweet · 19/12/2021 23:25

Got my period the day of my last bf with my first child, at 13 months, having gone down to mornings and evenings a few weeks before. DC2 is 13 months now and still bf loads and no sign of it.

sqirrelfriends · 19/12/2021 23:39

6 months almost on the dot. I had just started weaning DS which must have triggered it but he was still drinking loads of milk.

virtuallyanass · 19/12/2021 23:47

@hemhem

Took more than 2 years for me with both DC. Didn't miss it!
Same here, but I fed until 2 years for each of the DC
Isit2021yetplease · 20/12/2021 00:00

First about 5/6 months when I moved to pretty much formula. Second about the same despite ebf until about 8 months. 3rd - I had vv mild periods from the month after birth despite no formula at all!! He did sleep amazingly as a newborn and would do 5/6/7 even 8 hour stretches at night so I wonder if that kick started them. Now he’s 6 month, and I wish he’d sleep that long! And I have proper full on periods along with all the night waking too now!
I read they tend to come back when night feeding decreases.

finova · 20/12/2021 00:03

Around 15-18 months

Mummy1608 · 20/12/2021 01:34

I'm on 16 months and counting...

My baby still BFs at least 4-5 times a night which I guess is why! Every now and then I think I get a phantom twinge in the womb area and I'm convinced it's going to be pre menstrual cramps but it never is, so far

9monthson9monthsoff · 20/12/2021 03:32

4 months

PanicBuyingSprouts · 20/12/2021 06:27

18 months both times.

Borracha · 20/12/2021 06:32

Not until I had stopped feeding entirely (around 12 months each time) Even when we had dropped right down to one feed just before bed, it stayed away.

(I also managed to fall pregnant again just one month after my first period with DC1)

kitkatsky · 20/12/2021 06:35

6 months post partum

ClemDanFango · 20/12/2021 06:40

I had a period about 6 weeks after birth then nothing for 10 months then it came back with a vengeance. Was in bed for 3 days! Following month it settled back to a more normal pattern.

ButtercupBlue · 20/12/2021 06:46

I breastfed my two round the clock and they were waking hourly in the night as newborns but my period still came back at 6 weeks after birth both times! I felt very cheated!

SantasOnHisWay · 20/12/2021 06:53

First I had 1 very short period at 6 months and then nothing, then somehow managed to get pregnant when she was 9 months old without a period (or trying!). Second I had a short period at 9 months but they weren't back properly until 12 months. I'm now on 9 months with my third and no signs yet. I breastfeed and did the same with the other 2 (for 14 months and 2.5 years), none of them ever slept through still breastfeeding.

Slayduggee · 20/12/2021 07:34

DD - 4 months. DS -10 months.

Tomatobear · 20/12/2021 07:46

9 months here. Was feeding all day and up every 1-2 hours at night still!

Anotherboy · 20/12/2021 07:46

Straight away with first, 8 months with second. So variable!
