I feel so terrible but this year I can't afford to buy any present for my daughter will that make me a bad mum? I don't want her to grow up hating Christmas because of me. I've recently moved out by myself struggling to pay bills as well as rent after I paid all my bills for food nappies baby wipes I have around £20 it's absolutely impossible. I don't think I'll even have a tree this year. I feel terrible for her.

I've tried to look for grants and I can't seem to find any can't afford any loans.

What can I do to make my daughters Christmas better?

I'm honestly trying my best, please I hope no one thinks I'm not.

Any ideas are welcome

Thanks

She won't know for years. Why don't you start some other fun traditions instead? Make a special recipe and have a picnic on the floor? Watch a Christmas movie you love from your own childhood? Make a Christmas craft with whatever you have on hand? I bet you can make it magic completely for free. Additionally there are loads of charities that provide presents for kids in all kinds of circumstances and facebook/nextdoor would be great resources too I imagine.

Do you have any little safe ornaments,or knick knacks around the house, that she may not have seen, chidren will play with all sorts of things.

I remember when my daughter was very small many years ago, and my Late mum, who did a lot of sewing, used to save all the wooden cotton reels (for some reason ) I got quite a lot off her, and stuck all the reels together, to make a kind of toy, that you could pull along, or roll about, she used to play with it quite a lot. I left some loose, and she used to build them up on the floor.
