Tiny DS in hospital with bronchiolitis - hand hold

DS 14weeks has had a bit of a cold the last few days but this morning really deteriorated. I took him to the GP who said it was just a cold and sent me away. Throughout the day he got worse, fighting for breath, not feeding at all etc so I insisted the GP see him again this afternoon. One look at him and we were sent straight to hospital. DS is now on oxygen with a feeding tube and I’m in bits seeing my tiny baby so helpless. I’m trying to pump but I’m so exhausted and hungry I’m not getting much. DP not allowed to stay due to bloody fucking Covid even though we’re in a side room. Not sure why I’m posting other than to just get it out there.

come on Henry, keep fighting this.

You are in my thoughts, they are resilient little things babies but do turn quickly either sick or better.

I hope your next post tells us he is home OP

big big hugs x

Get better soon, Henry. Big hugs to you - and your mum.

My niece was struck down with this when she was only a couple of months old. Things happened frightening fast as she ended up in ITU. She healed just as fast, so sending you hugs xx

Sending prayers for you and Henry. My baby was ventilated at one week old, it was one of the worst experiences of my life. He is now a strapping football-mad, very healthy kid. Flowers

Flowers Sending you and Henry love and strength OP xx

I have observed that babies who are intubated tend to recover quicker. As they've had a proper rest. I find it really frustrating every year that Bronchiolitis brings all children's hospitals to their knees. But most people have never heard of it. Tiny babies are so resilient. Henry will bounce back, and be over it long before you will. Look after your self. You are not good to him knackered. ThanksThanks

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 09/09/2021 23:05

I'll pray for Henry and your family, of course. I really hope everything turns out well Flowers

You should be very proud how you acted given how recently you'd been told it was 'just a cold'. You've ensured he's in the best place he can be x

Rosecottage888 · 09/09/2021 23:17

Thinking of you all xx

Oh I remember my little girl being blue lighted to the children’s hospital in the middle of the night because of this. She was two weeks old and it was right in the middle of the swine flu pandemic.

I had the added joy of discovering my (now ex) husband had also been signing up for dating sites at the same time!

Little girl is now almost 12 and a talented gymnast, your son will pull through and this will soon be hopefully, the only not nice memory of his first year.

LouLikesLollies · 10/09/2021 08:34
