Tiny DS in hospital with bronchiolitis - hand hold

DS 14weeks has had a bit of a cold the last few days but this morning really deteriorated. I took him to the GP who said it was just a cold and sent me away. Throughout the day he got worse, fighting for breath, not feeding at all etc so I insisted the GP see him again this afternoon. One look at him and we were sent straight to hospital. DS is now on oxygen with a feeding tube and I’m in bits seeing my tiny baby so helpless. I’m trying to pump but I’m so exhausted and hungry I’m not getting much. DP not allowed to stay due to bloody fucking Covid even though we’re in a side room. Not sure why I’m posting other than to just get it out there.

In a life or death situation there is nowhere else I'd rather be in the world than in the arms of the NHS.

I'm so happy for you and your baby OP!! And I second your sentiments. I had terrible asthma from aged 8 to 12 and whenever I had to be admitted I had this lovely warm feeling that the NHS would make things better and they always did.

My DD was also hospitalised at 16 days with a mystery virus and I remember when she started pulling through that there was no other place I wanted to be than that little room surrounded by those amazing people.

Enjoy your life with your now healthy baby!

This wonderful update has made me emotional. I remember reading someone (an American living in the UK I think) saying that the NHS was the greatest achievement of humankind. He was a hell of a man, that Nye Bevan.

So glad little H is doing well now. Best wishes to you OP Smile
