Tiny DS in hospital with bronchiolitis - hand hold

DS 14weeks has had a bit of a cold the last few days but this morning really deteriorated. I took him to the GP who said it was just a cold and sent me away. Throughout the day he got worse, fighting for breath, not feeding at all etc so I insisted the GP see him again this afternoon. One look at him and we were sent straight to hospital. DS is now on oxygen with a feeding tube and I’m in bits seeing my tiny baby so helpless. I’m trying to pump but I’m so exhausted and hungry I’m not getting much. DP not allowed to stay due to bloody fucking Covid even though we’re in a side room. Not sure why I’m posting other than to just get it out there.

I was always told they go down fast but come up just as quick. It is horrible and terrifying.
My son had bronchiolitis at 12 weeks and later bronciolitis around 5 months which developed into pneumonia- it got very serious and scary and then he just turned a corner. He has no lasting effects even though lots of people unhelpfully said he would get asthma. He didn’t.

Babies are strong little things and children have an amazing way of coping and bouncing back quickly. He is able to rest now while he gets better . Sending love to you .

@Floopyandtired my little boy was on a ventilator for three days after he was born. It was the most surreal, scary, period of my life. Neonatal units are amazing. You are in my thoughts.
