Tiny DS in hospital with bronchiolitis - hand hold

DS 14weeks has had a bit of a cold the last few days but this morning really deteriorated. I took him to the GP who said it was just a cold and sent me away. Throughout the day he got worse, fighting for breath, not feeding at all etc so I insisted the GP see him again this afternoon. One look at him and we were sent straight to hospital. DS is now on oxygen with a feeding tube and I’m in bits seeing my tiny baby so helpless. I’m trying to pump but I’m so exhausted and hungry I’m not getting much. DP not allowed to stay due to bloody fucking Covid even though we’re in a side room. Not sure why I’m posting other than to just get it out there.

Just seen this post op. So pleased he is on the mend.
My baby (now 8) had bronchiolitis as a baby too. Deteriorated rapidly just as you said but bounced back even faster. Wishing Henry all the best now

RosesAndHellebores · 15/09/2021 08:56

Brilliant update.

My DS had bronchiolitis then pneumonia and was considered chronically asthmatic by the time he was 6 months. Three courses of oral steroids, a nebuliser at home and the first year was a long haul. Helped greatly I may say by seeing a specialist consultant privately whose asthma nurse gave much clearer advice than was available at the local hospital. That may be something to bear in mind.

However, it never held him back and he ended up playing front row. He's now a very healthy 26 year old.
