Tiny DS in hospital with bronchiolitis - hand hold

DS 14weeks has had a bit of a cold the last few days but this morning really deteriorated. I took him to the GP who said it was just a cold and sent me away. Throughout the day he got worse, fighting for breath, not feeding at all etc so I insisted the GP see him again this afternoon. One look at him and we were sent straight to hospital. DS is now on oxygen with a feeding tube and I’m in bits seeing my tiny baby so helpless. I’m trying to pump but I’m so exhausted and hungry I’m not getting much. DP not allowed to stay due to bloody fucking Covid even though we’re in a side room. Not sure why I’m posting other than to just get it out there.

So glad to hear he is fighting and stable. Please be kind to yourself and make sure you're getting enough food and rest. He needs you strong! Keep us updated when you can x

Aww it's awful OP. Mine was 6 weeks when he went in. We were there for a week. It was shit.
It's so common though. Our ward was full. All kids with RSV.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your continued support. The fact so many of you are keeping us in your thoughts and checking in is lovely. It makes me feel less alone. Little H remains in PICU on a ventilator. I’m afraid there is no real improvement. Yesterday we had a fright when his tube slipped and it was feared it had pierced his lung, but luckily after some swift intervention he was stabilised quickly. Having initially been told we would be in intensive care for 2-3 days it is now looking like we’re going to be here a lot longer than that. I know though that babies can bounce back as quickly as they deteriorate so I’m hopeful that he will turn the corner soon. Once all this is over I will share more about which hospital we have been in and maybe a pic of my little boy. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts x

Hi OP. I'm so sorry to hear your little boy is still so ill. My daughter spent 6 days in PICU ventilated and paralysed in July so I know how awful it is. PICU staff are absolutely fantastic though and will be doing everything they can for him. I hope you're being looked after too, it's incredibly stressful.
