We were at the park today, my 2 1/2 year old found a stick and swung it and said: Look mummy, I'm fishing.

It put such a smile on my face, the imaginative is properly starting now.

What about you? Xx

Aww that's so sweet at that age! 😍

DS got stung by a wasp and when we got home DD (6) took it upon herself to look after him and brought him his pillow and quilt to have on the settee.. and told DH off for doing something for him because that was HER JOB!!! 😂

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 04/09/2021 19:19

Ohhh these are cute! Fishing is a hilariously sweet choice! Love the idea of a 6 year old telling their dad off for trying to help

Dh was changing the batteries on one of ds toys and he couldn't find a screwdriver in the drawer, he asked me to check the cupboard under the stairs, but ds said "daddy wait" toddled off to his bedroom and brought his tool kit through, handed the screwdriver over. Was clearly too big, but the smile on his face as he passed the screwdriver to dh was adorable.

Awww @Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese how cute is that! Little kiddies with their tools are adorable 🤩

I was explaining to dd(9) about what is happening in Afghanistan and how 100s of people were leaving their country to travel long distances to different countries for a better life. Often the journeys were hard, and often people would try to stow away.

She said “Like Paddington?”

That made me smile

Houserenoqueen · 04/09/2021 19:30

Ds is 16 months and wanted to sit with a yoghurt pot balanced on his head today.

Frank77 · 04/09/2021 19:31

Trying to teach DS2 to count. Held up 2 of his beads and asked ‘how many have I got?’. DS promptly marched over and took them off me & said ‘nothing!’

MonkeyPuddle · 04/09/2021 19:32

God I love their imaginations.
DS is 4 and starting school next week and is a bit wobbly about it, we read ‘The Invisible String’ tonight at bedtime, it’s about how our love connects us all by invisible string and we are never alone, he drank in every word and then asked if his string could reach all the way to Grandma (60 miles away) and was so, so happy that they had a sting of love between them.

BikeRunSki · 04/09/2021 19:37

@MonkeyPuddle, damn my eyes are itchy tonight!!

MyGrassIsBrowner · 04/09/2021 19:38

Watching Hey Duggee on the sofa with my 17 month old (it's her favourite) she doesn't tolerate anyone touching her hands.. she held my hand for the first time ever and rested her head on my belly (pregnant with baby no.2) Not ashamed to say I shed a little tear or two.
It sounds so cliché but it really happened. 🥲

Couldhavebeenme3 · 04/09/2021 19:38

My dd (age 14) was in charge of the car stereo this afternoon, she put on some ABBA and was really belting out the tunes. It was so good to see her truly enjoying herself and letting go after a particularly shite year.

hiredandsqueak · 04/09/2021 19:41

Had grandson here this morning, he's just two, he'd brought his jigsaws, we did the jungle one, I asked him what noise a tiger made and quick as a flash he went "Ask Alexa gangan." Grin It was also funny hearing him argue with ds early thirties that the animal wasn't a buffalo it was a bison and correcting him when he got any other animals wrong.

mrsmmajeika · 04/09/2021 19:42

DH was mimicking someone talking a lot with his hand
DD (15 months) said "Nana?"
😳😂

2tired2bewitty · 04/09/2021 19:44

DS 5 announced that he had a “rock crumb” in his shoe, which made me laugh Grin

dashoflime · 04/09/2021 19:45

DS9 picking a film to watch and misreading "The adventures of Huck Finn" as "The adventures of Fuck Him"

Bessiebigpants · 04/09/2021 19:53

17 year old who swears she can’t nap had a nap and woke up all mussed and confused for dinner They are not cute anymore but, this was endearing

Vebrithien · 04/09/2021 19:53

Today DS (almost 15 months) took his very first, wobbly steps, whilst holding onto both of my hands.

He was a premature baby, and I had a horrendously traumatic pregnancy and birth, in the first lockdown. He spent a fortnight in NICU.

He's completely refused to stand whilst I've been holding his hands. As soon as I've moved my hands from under his armpits to his arms/hands, he's bumped down into his bum. Irrationally, I've been worried that his seeming inability to stand with just a hand hold, or show any interest in walking, was due to his prematurity.

We went for a country walk today, I had him in the sling. After we've sat down for a picnic, he set off crawling along the verge, and onto some gravel. He didn't like the feeling of it on his knees, so when I held him using his hands, it was so emotional to see him take those first steps. I hadn't realised how worried I'd actually been about it.

Then, DD (5) made it even better by saying "I'm so, so proud of my little brother!"

bloodywhitecat · 04/09/2021 19:55

Our 14 week old fosterling laughed for the first time today.

Our 17 month old fosterling who we were told would not be able to do so many things is just an utter delight who makes us smile every day with his killer attitude.

orangejuicer · 04/09/2021 19:58

Almost 3yo DS dancing in front of the tv, it's kind of new for him so was very sweet to see.

Mads123 · 04/09/2021 20:00

DS nearly 3 honestly makes me smile daily with the little things he says, but is also into hitting at the moment so not all roses. Today he said "I'm a clever boy, I did an outdoors wee. But I do indoor poos".

Dd18 falling into the car at 1am after a looong shift at her new job that she loves and chatting away about all her coworkers and customers. It was worth staying up late for.

Took my 4 YO to the theater. One of the characters from a Knight but she was most perplexed "why is he just wearing white trainers? I don't think knights wear those!"

My 18 month old pretending to be a puppy, which involved crawling around asking to be petted and eating treats "um num"

TinyTrue · 04/09/2021 20:08

My Daughter 2 years old climbed on the pirate ship at the park and said Aaarrrggghhh! It made me laugh, I was shocked her Dad must have taught her that one lol

HappyBirthdayMrPresident · 04/09/2021 20:08

My nearly 15 year old DS gave me a hug voluntarily ❤️
