We were at the park today, my 2 1/2 year old found a stick and swung it and said: Look mummy, I'm fishing.

It put such a smile on my face, the imaginative is properly starting now.

What about you? Xx

This thread is lovely.

Today, DS2 (6) was sat on my knee when he spotted the blister on my finger from where I burnt myself last week. He said "Mummy what did you do?" So I told him I hadn't been very careful and burnt myself. Next minute he jumps up and runs to the kitchen and starts rummaging in the fridge. He returned with the Mr bump cold pack we keep in there.

DD (7) told me, as she was leaving to spend the night at her dad's "don't worry mummy, I like your cooking better than dad's, but Mrs J (her new teacher) makes the best toast so you and daddy need to practice toast making"

And DS1, the big one, the preteen... he has spent the afternoon laughing with his friends over the xbox. Its nice to see him with a smile on his face

There was one apple left we were both hungry and I said well why don't you have the apple. She said 'but what about you'. She'd clearly been leaving it for me.
It is that that makes me love her

I was drinking a cuppa and my little one kept wanting some, I usually give her a sip at the end when it's cooler... Then she shrieks and says "I just want a teeny tiny bit mummy" it made me smile as she's really getting so much more advanced with her words lately.. Also after dinner she got the baby wipes and cleaned the table and said there you go mummy 😍

Pebbledashery · 05/09/2021 07:11

Just before bedtime we watched in the Night Garden on the sofa.. My little girl had her blanket, she put it on her knees then stretched it over to cover my knees too 😍. It was so adorable ❤️
She always offers her last hula hoop to me as well😢

Di11y · 05/09/2021 07:19

Just turned 4yo sidled up to me, pulled me down to her level saying "whisper in your ear mummy" and whispered "I love you mummy" 🥰

I'm super proud of your little boy too. If you're worried about something, a milestone is so much more than just a milestone. It's like something that's been pressing on your chest has now been lifted. I know how it feels xxxx [/quote]
Thank you so much @gemloving

It's been a tough time, the worry has been constant, and to just see something so normal and happy was beautiful.

These are all lovely and/or funny in equal measure!

My baby has just learned to crawl, in the past two days. He bunny hops after me when I leave the room for a second Smile

DD(9) playing her final cricket tournament of the season. Softball, so no pads, but they can still sting! DD got a ball at speed in the thigh, and chose to come off. Went back on when the next batter was out, big cheer from home and away teams and supporters, and scored the winning runs for her team.

My nearly teen and pre teen are making a YouTube style video together. It has taken them about 100 takes so far, amid lots of giggling. It’s so lovely to hear them getting on.

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 05/09/2021 15:45

My 6 year old (she has ASD so is closer to a 18month old developmentally and verbally) asked for some milk. On receiving said milk she looked me and said "Good job mummy". Grin

HSHorror · 05/09/2021 15:55

We had been having internet issues with our phones. So i said among lots of other things blaming internet provider- maybe dc2 has plugged in the wifi repeater. Anyway we didnt get round to checking and dp spent hours trying to fix issue.
Finally remembered and yes dc2 6yo had plugged it in after taking it off the table lol.
Dc has form for plugging things in.

2 and a half year old DS and I were reading a book called When I Grow Up.
So I asked him "What do you want to be when you grow up? Do you want to be a pirate?"
And he answered "No. I be a whale" Grin

Bluejayway91 · 05/09/2021 21:55

My nine month old did proper belly laughs when I made faces at him. It's one of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard.

Harlequin1088 · 07/09/2021 17:01

My youngest stepson walked into the room brandishing my Suffragette-era "Votes for Women" placemat and says,

“This is a great placemat. You SHOULD vote for women”

Couldn’t understand why everyone started screaming with laughter. Love this kid 😂

BikeRunSki · 07/09/2021 20:48

Ds’s birthday today. He’s 13. He not beck at school yet, so I took him and his best friend bowling, he’s been to his cricket club presentation evening, played PS4, cake - low key birthday stuff, but he’s not a party animal at the best of times. He just popped his head round the door, gave me a hug, and thanked me for a lovely day, unprompted. The “Kevin” transformation hasn’t happened yet!

serialname · 07/09/2021 21:29

Went to school, managed to beat anxiety to stay all day AND go to all their lessons. May not be a big deal for most but was a big step.

LadyCatStark · 07/09/2021 22:23

DS (12) has been watching the Fresh Prince of Bell Air and came down to show me the ‘Carlton Dance’. We had a dance in the kitchen and It was lovely to see DS being so carefree again.

DH has broken his shoulder and needs surgery. I work fulltime, look after my elderly mum, now this. Was stressing a bit about coping with it all and DH(19) said, " But mum you dont have to do it all. Just ask me, and I'll do it". Seem to have something in my eye...
