We were at the park today, my 2 1/2 year old found a stick and swung it and said: Look mummy, I'm fishing.

It put such a smile on my face, the imaginative is properly starting now.

What about you? Xx

My 4 year old tried to blow up a beach ball and farted.

Littlest DS (3) told me not to worry yesterday because the clouds have stopped crying now. It made me smile Smile

Soubriquet · 04/09/2021 20:12

I said “the floor is lava”

Watching them jump about trying to find a safe spot was funny

nipped to the shop with DS7 today to pick up some bits for tea.

he carried on around the shop whilst I was picking up bread and all of a sudden I hear 'ooh nibbly fingers' from the next aisle.

he'd only spotted the mini cabdury fingers but it had me in stitches 🤣

Daughter lost a tooth yesterday and put it under her bed last night.
This morning she found the tooth fairy had left her a gold shiny pound.
I told her that she could spend it on chocolate for herself or she could spend it on treats for the cat.

About an hour later she came down from her room with a pencil case full of change from her money boxes. I asked what she was doing and she said,
"I'm counting it to see if I have enough to get Spot some treats as well when I spend my pound"
That was just the sweetest thing to me..

@Vebrithien well done! It sounds like you've had a traumatic experience and it's affecting life now still. I hope you're ok mama Thanks Your beautiful little boy will get there in his own time, mine never walked when I held him until he started walking on his own. He could also not stand up by himself, crawled to a place where he could pull himself up, then walked. If he tumbled, crawling again.

DD (just 4) is starting to absorb my and DH’s taste in music now that the car has a digital display. I asked her if she wanted to listen to the Beatles on our way to the shop and she paused for a second and then said “Yes, I want Hey Jude because that’s my favourite. Then Eight Days a Week.” Then she belted out the chorus of Hey Jude.

My dd8 came up behind me and gave me a kiss/peck and said “affectionate turtle dove”. It was so random and she burst out laughing, so did I.

gemloving · 04/09/2021 20:17

@Vebrithien sent before I wanted.

I'm super proud of your little boy too. If you're worried about something, a milestone is so much more than just a milestone. It's like something that's been pressing on your chest has now been lifted. I know how it feels xxxx

I was a naughty Mommy and let my 17month old have his Christmas trampoline/ball pit early.
Bouncing on the trampoline with his cars and then bumping down on his bum 😁

Danikm151 · 04/09/2021 20:21

Also saying uhoh!

itsgettingwierd · 04/09/2021 20:21

@Frank77

Trying to teach DS2 to count. Held up 2 of his beads and asked ‘how many have I got?’. DS promptly marched over and took them off me & said ‘nothing!’
🤣🤣🤣 that's brilliant.

17yo ds actually asked me if I was watching the telly when he came into the lounge instead of just walking in and changing the channel and being shocked when I said I was watching it.

I'm calling that progress Grin

Taking 22 month old to the shops, she has a backward facing seat. She was singing for a bit then went quiet, asked if she was ok and she shouted “HURRY UP” at us. Found it funny, seems she felt we were dawdling.

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 04/09/2021 20:23

I brought my DD(4) out for some school shopping. She starts junior kindergarten on Tuesday. This was only her second time out by herself with me since our third DC was born 3 months ago, and it was her first time shopping since the pandemic began!

When we had bought everything needed for school, we stopped for a hot chocolate. She drank half, and then insisted on bringing the other half home for her two-year-old brother “because he couldn’t come with us and he is my best friend”.

5yo dd climbing up taking money from her money box to put in granny's birthday card. Too cute

We've been trying to teach DS1 how to use a fork properly and he was eating his tea today with his fingers I asked him to use his fork like a big boy...
and he ran and grabbed his forklift truck toy and started scooping up fish fingers with it 🥺
He's 3 in December
DS2 was dancing in front of the tv today to Metallica... propper headbanging he was 😂
He's 2 in December
They keep me on my toes tho!

BoredZelda · 04/09/2021 20:27

My 12 year old announced that today was the best weekend day we’d had in a long time.

Might not sound smileworthy, but the day was spent clearing out cupboards and putting stuff in bags for our charity shop run tomorrow. The girl just loves sorting through cupboards. And, as her face is a dead giveaway, it made going through my wardrobe really easy as I held up each outfit to see if it was keep or throw 😆

QueenLagertha · 04/09/2021 20:28

3 year old DS fell off the kitchen chair. I lifted him up and he piped up "me drunk mummy!" 😂

SingingSands · 04/09/2021 20:29

Before she left to walk to her friend's house, my DD (17), bent down and adjusted her Crocs and said "activate sports mode". (Putting the ankle strap behind her ankle)

Makes me laugh when she does this. And off she went, sports mode Crocs activated Grin

Brieeeeeeeeeeee · 04/09/2021 20:30

Blew a raspberry on my neck without sinking his teeth in; it made a stupendous fart sound and we both giggled (he’s 18mo). Love the silliness.

BoredZelda · 04/09/2021 20:30

I said “the floor is lava”

I love doing this. I don’t do it often, but it is funny to see DD scramble for the sofa.

Love this @singingsands

Mumoblue · 04/09/2021 20:34

My 19 month old son usually isn’t very cuddly when he’s trying to sleep but today I was cuddling him with my arm tucked around his middle while putting him to bed. He kept his hand on my arm, tapping it with his little fingers, and if I moved and he thought I was moving away, he pulled my arm back closer around him.

It was really lovely. That and the amount of “Wow”s I got today. “Wow!” Is a word he learnt recently, and it’s so lovey to hear him use it. New library book? Wow! Tipped toy car over? Wow! Bath full of toys? Wow!
Makes you appreciate the little things. Smile

BendingSpoons · 04/09/2021 20:36

We want to start toilet training DS but he needs some convincing, so we thought we would bribe him Grin DH and I had previously discussed a sticker chart v. chocolate buttons. We then said 'DS what do you want if you use the toilet?'. He replied 'fish finger!'

abbs1 · 04/09/2021 20:38

My nearly 18 month old has been just started spontaneously stopping whats hes playing with and will just come running over to me and give me kisses and hugs with the biggest smile on his face! Its the sweetest thing and melts my heart each time. 💙
