We were at the park today, my 2 1/2 year old found a stick and swung it and said: Look mummy, I'm fishing.

It put such a smile on my face, the imaginative is properly starting now.

What about you? Xx

My grandad has been dealing with a lot of loss lately and has been down. He came round and sat in the garden and my DCs wanted to paint, so I got the stuff out and a big bit of cardboard for them to draw on while we had a cup of tea.

Painting turned into handprints... turned into footprints... turned into nose prints... and eventually bum prints, with the two boys bucko and covered in paint running round like something out of Lord of the Flies.

My grandad has been crying laughing every time he thinks of it for two days so it was worth all the mess Smile

Lovely thread

Such a lovely thread! My daughter wore my shoes out by mistake because we have the same size feet and said ‘mum I won’t fall just trust me’ haha

My DS started school today, first day of reception. He was tired and emotional at pick up, understandably so.
We had a big cuddle and drove to a local farm that has an ice cream parlour. We got to walk past some of the farms cows and he waved and said hello to each cow. It was adorable.
I’m so proud of him starting school. Feel like I’ve done a good job with him.

I had a huge (potentially career-defining) presentation this morning, online from home. DH took DD to breakfast club at school, abs I asked DS if he wouldn’t mind going to breakfast club at his school (head secondary) even though it was his first day back. Miraculously, by 8 am everyone had left!

After school he came bounding through the door, gabbled our everything he’d learnt, done etc today, took a breath as said “So Mum, how did your presentation go?”. It’s a bit of a new thing, this realising that other people hide lives, stresses, concerns and so on.

I am always feeling great when the baby is cuddling with me)

DD and DS2 don't often get to play together in school as they generally play in separate playgrounds. I think it's safe to say they've missed each other this week. Grin
