Second child looks more like Mum?

I'm not worried but my first looks the spit of his dad ( which I love) just wondering people with 2 children did second child look more like Mum or dad? I read somewhere first baby is always dad and second is Mum... Who knows

Both mine look similar and look like I was as a baby!

I think it's down to genetics?

DS2 is looks like a mini clone of his father. We thought DS1 looked alike but he's slowly looking more and more like my family.

I don't see any scientific evidence for this - my one piece of anecdata is my sibling who was baby no.2 in our family is the one who looks most like my dad.

My eldest is the spit of my BIL. Caused great hilarity in the family but fortunately he was abroad at the crucial time.

Nope, my second is very blond , very fair, very Nordic, like my husband, I am brunette, olive skin.
So not in our house

Not the case here, Dd1 is exactly like me. Dd2 is like her dad through and through. They are so alike it’s uncanny.

Ds1 looks like dh's side, dd like me but with darker hair and eyes and ds2 looks like my mum.

Despite looking like different sides of the family, fb is always confusing them when tagging photos so they clearly have strong similarities as well. I love seeing the different ways our genes combined.

Mine is. I used to get asked if DD was really mine because she looked so much like DH but Ds looks a lot more like my side of the family

First looks very much like me, second looks nothing like either me or DH (but does look like his brother and mother).

When DD1 was born everyone said she looked the spit of DH - she's 4 now and very much looks her own little person, though she definitely has stronger genes from his side of the family (very dark brown eyes with a hint of her dad's green).

It's been said that DD2 looks much more like my side, and when she was tiny I did think she looked similar to one of my older brothers as a baby. DD2 has much lighter eyes than her older sister, her dad's green with little bit of my blue.

Neither of my daughters look like me and they don't look like each other - the only similarity I can see is that the have the exact same hair colour. I find genetics absolutely fascinating, I'm due DD3 soon and I can't wait to see what she looks like!

Not here. Our first born (female) is a mix of both of us, maybe slightly more like me than DH. Second born (male) is the absolute image of DH, can’t really see my genes in him at all 😆 If you look at a photo of DS and a photo of DH at the same age, you’d think they were the same person.

Wen she was born, DD2 had grey eyes and black hair like DH.

She now looks more like me (and has my brown hair and eyes... although it went white blonde then darkened again!)

DD1 is the absolute image of me and my DB. DD2 Looks like DM and her great-great grandmother. DS looks like me but with his father's colouring.

DH's genetics come out more strongly in facial expressions and personality!

In our house dc1 looks like dh and dc2 looks like me. So maybe some truth in that

Opposite here... first looks like me, second just like her dad. Third a mixture.

Yeah, first DD looks exactly like her dad. Second DD looks exactly like me!

DD1 looks like me/my dad/she has my colouring
DD2 a resemblance to my mum in terms of face and colouring, like my sister and my dads family in terms of height/body (v tall).
Neither looks much like DH. MIL did actually question DD2’s paternity! DH is dark haired and eyed and DD2 is a blue eyed blond.

It is that way for me. DS 1st looks like his dad but my DD is my double.

This. I don’t see how birth order could possibly determine physical characteristics. It’s not like the particular sperm and egg know what order they’re coming in!

I have 4dc and they all look like me, my identical twin has 3 dc and they all look like her. It's really fun when we all go out as the dc look like siblings. Her ds and my ds2 regularly get mistaken for twins as they only have a 6 month age gap.
