DS1 looked like my family as a baby/small child. Now he's the spit of his dad but with my colouring.

DS was the reverse. He's practically my twin now but with his dad's dark hair. My mums computer face recognition thing often confuses us.

My eldest looks most like me but has my husbands nose. And my second looks most like me husband but with my nose and olive skin tone.

I only one but Dd always looked like me, especially my baby/toddler photographs. She has the odd bit of dh in her and some of my sister too.

Dh is first born and resembles his dad; bil resembles his mum more.

Me and my siblings don't really look alike. I take after some of my dad's side and have a resemblance to my mum's youngest brother. My sister resembles another of my mum's sisters. My brother doesn't really resemble any.

1st DS looked the spot of my dad and me when he was born , the only thing that is like DH is his height,
DD looked like DH, although her hair is a lot lighter, than any of us.

Children change so much from when they're small. DS1 looked like DS's family when he was tiny (there was much crowing about this as if it made him theirs🙄) Anyway now, at 13, he is the spitting image of me and my brother. DS2 was like me as a toddler - now, at 9, he's DP's double. I imagine there will be more changes as they get older.

Mine both look like their Dad. I have friends where all look like their Mum. Some where first more like Mum, second like Dad and vice versa. Others that are a very obvious mix. I I can't imagine there is anything which would dictate first looking more like one particular parent. But if that is the case, would be really interested to know why.

DS (3 y/o) looks like both of us but DH's family like to take credit for his good looks!

DD (8 m/o) looks like me. She's adorable Grin

First looked like dad, but possibly down to his colouring, but now much more like my side of the family.

Second has my colouring but is the absolute spit of his dad and has been from birth.

Son, 1st child, is the spitting image of my brother who looks like my mum, I look like my dad. Daughter 2nd child is like her dad's sisters. Neither of them look anything like me, or each other.

fantasmasgoria1 · 20/07/2021 16:20

My Fiance and his sibling look nothing like each other. Neither look like their parents. You would not be able to say to my Fiance you look so much like your mum or dad because he genuinely doesn't. Neither does his sibling. If you didn't know they were siblings you would never know they were because they share no resemblance at all. My sibling looks a bit like mum and a bit like dad. I look like neither and my DD looks like me and ds is a mixture.

irresistibleoverwhelm · 20/07/2021 16:25

My DD looks like a mix of me and her father - she has his face shape and nose/mouth, but my colouring and eyes.

My siblings - first sibling, firstborn girl looks like dad, secondborn boy like mum

Second sibling - firstborn boy looks like mum, secondborn boy looks like dad

So a complete mixture here!
