I'm having a c section at a hospital that has no cafes / restaurants nearby apart from the league of friends which isn't particularly appealing! I know I'll be famished so looking for some inspiration.

What was the first thing you ate after childbirth?
@MrsXx4 that sounds lush! I've said I want cured meats, brie, really thick sourdough bread, proper farm shop butter and a glass of ice cold white wine!
Well that sounds exactly right to me!

My midwife gave me Chinese herbs which she said were traditional for a postpartum diet, do DH just made up a simple veggie broth and threw them in. I had HG my entire pregnancy so wanted to start with something very simple.

Sweet tea and buttered toast after vb's. I think I only had the sweet tea after my elcs though as I didn't feel hungry, dh and sil went out and got me a McDonald's late at night before they left me.

Bread, butter and jam with a cup of tea, made by midwife at midnight. I hadn't kept down a single bite in 24 hours: this was the most delicious meal I had ever tasted!!!

I had ds at home in the morning so I think it was toast made by dh - definitely lots of Lucozade Sport.
