How many kids did you want and how many do you have?

To parents with one gender families- were you okay having all one gender or kept trying till you get the other gender?

We have three girls and happy with girls, we don't mind a fourth even but not more than four kids. I just feel bad for my husband so would love to hear experience of other parents and how they just knew they wanted or not more kids?

I have got 2 girls dd5 and dd4 I would love another but my partner has said he is happy with 2 and I would love a boy but iv got my girls

I've got 3, 2 boys and just had a girl. We didn't try again specifically for a girl, both me and partner are one of 3 siblings so it just felt right to have 3. In fact, we both come from single gender families so I was very much expecting (and excited about) another boy!

2 boys, stuck at two, happy with that.

I have 4 children. I really didn’t want any until I had an unexpected pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage at 33.

They have a small age gap, dc4 was a surprise as after dc3 we felt happy with our lot and DH had the snip. Although a shock very much wanted.
I have 2 girls and 2 boys an even mix.

I have 3 DC. Always wanted 3. I have 1 DD and 2 DS. Im very happy

I would have a huge family if money was no object but in reality I would love four but think we will settle on three. We have one of each gender already so nothing to do with gender for us

One, boy. I am happy to stick with just one tbh right now, doesn’t bother me the whole ‘one of each, or two boys to form a gang’. If we have a second then it’s 50/50 anyway

2 boys sometimes think about a third and then I give my head a wobble and move on..!

I have 4 - 2 boys , girl then 12 year gap and another boy. It's been lovely starting all over again

1 DS. Always wanted a son as I have 3 sisters. I couldn't afford to have any more children as a single mum.

Two boys. Very happy with two boys. OH had the snip so no more for us.

We have 3, 2 boys & 1 girl in the middle. I'm 1 of 4 (2 of each) DH is an only child. I thought I would have 4 but I honestly couldn't see myself doing it all again, aside from the ££ aspect! DD is very "spirited" so more than makes up for the lack of female numbers!

Two girls ( 18 & 16 ) and a boy ( 14 ). Had my first at twenty three and sterilized at twenty eight, so definately no more for me.

2 boys and finished.

3 boys - would like a fourth but worry I’d be disappointed with another boy & don’t want to feel like that about a child. Love a big family!

One boy whose sex is male. Zero wish for any more DC. He's 9yo and fabulous.

four. two boys, then two girls. i think i’m done, but i’m still only in my late twenties so i’m keeping an open mind as to whether we’ll have any more at some point in the future.

It's sex not gender.
