How many children do you have and what genders?

How many kids did you want and how many do you have?

To parents with one gender families- were you okay having all one gender or kept trying till you get the other gender?

We have three girls and happy with girls, we don't mind a fourth even but not more than four kids. I just feel bad for my husband so would love to hear experience of other parents and how they just knew they wanted or not more kids?

Girl and a boy.
I had horrendous problems with dd in labour, had a cord prolapse and severe pph after emergency c section.
Left it for 9 years then had DS - ended up with another emergency Cs and pph.

DH had the snip after that as it would have been too dangerous for me to have another. Ideally I would have liked 4 or 5 children but c'est la vie.

Girl age 6 and boy age 3. Part of me would love a third but I'm sticking at 2. My son has never slept well, we're only just starting to turn a corner so that's played a massive part in our decision to not have a third.

Two boys and a girl.

You feel badly for your husband? I immediately feel sorry for your daughters with that outlook. Poor girls. Already you've made them 'less than'. God, we have miles to go.

Namechange8471 · 25/01/2021 09:29

One dd, 12 and another dd on the way ❤️.

Will hopefully have one more in the next few years, couldn't care less about the sex!

ParkheadParadise · 25/01/2021 09:30

2 girls
23 years apart.

DamsonBramble · 25/01/2021 09:33

I imagined myself having two and had two. I'm fine with the 2 girls I had and would have been fine with 2 boys or one of each also

iusedtohavechickens · 25/01/2021 09:38

4 girls, my hubby isn't bothered about having a boy and tells people so when they ask if we are trying for one! We love our children regardless and don't feel we've missed out by not having a boy!

NewYearNewOldMe · 25/01/2021 09:41

I have 1.75 (no2 is still cooking, but due in a few weeks). We wanted two close in age. I have 4 siblings, and DH is an only child. He's always said he loves my big family, and that growing up an only child was lonely, and harder now he's the only one to take care of his parents.
We both agree that two is perfect for us.
Our family is single sex, which I prefer. DH would have liked one of each

lilsquish · 25/01/2021 09:42

I have 2 DD and we would love a third DC. Will be over the moon with boy or girl.

waterlego · 25/01/2021 09:52

I have two DC.

I think having lots of children is selfish in terms of impact on the planet.

Notashandyta · 25/01/2021 10:00

One boy, two girls, in that order.

No more for us!

WitchesNest · 25/01/2021 10:14

Sex not gender.

hiredandsqueak · 25/01/2021 10:43

Three boys and two girls all adults now. Really enjoyed having a big brood was never bothered about the sex of the babies I had though so five of either sex would have been just as welcome.

Avaganda · 25/01/2021 15:43

Had two boys and then a girl. I used to get asked a lot by boy mums what I did to get my girl. My answer was simply, the same thing I did to get my boys!

tilder · 25/01/2021 22:10

@waterlego

I have two DC.

I think having lots of children is selfish in terms of impact on the planet.

Having any children is selfish. The more you have, the more selfish it is.

I have 3. I also have guilt, but most parents do about their kids.

Sjl479 · 25/01/2021 22:15

Sex not gender. Feel bad for your husband for what reason?

Tiddlywinkly · 25/01/2021 22:19

1 girl, 1 boy. Pre ds I wanted 2 dds as I grew up with a sister. Ultimately you get what you get. They are 2 unique individuals. I wouldn't change them.

mamaoffourdc · 25/01/2021 22:32

Girl, boy, girl, girl x

Mochatatts · 25/01/2021 22:35

I've 2 boys 13 and 9. Always wanted a 3rd. I'm no longer with the boys father and my OH and I are due a girl in less than 3 weeks. He has 2 boys 11 and 9 from his previous relationship. This will be the last child for both of us.

RenegadeMrs · 25/01/2021 22:44

2 girls, and we are done. DH said he had a slight preference for a second girl when I was pregnant the second time. I had no preference either time, although I'm one of two girls, and close to my sister so I hope it'll be the same for mine. No desire to try for another. Boy or girl I'm just not up for a 3rd.

MossandRoy · 25/01/2021 22:49

Girl, girl, boy, girl.

rooarsome · 25/01/2021 22:52

A girl and 2 boys

waterlego · 26/01/2021 00:07

Having any children is selfish. The more you have, the more selfish it is.

Agree @tilder. I feel guilty about mine too!
