We've tried dd on toast, she wasn't interested in finger foods at all but since some of the others at nursery have toast dd wanted some too. She especially loves vegemite on it (i know a bit salty probably).
I'm almost back to my pre-baby weight but still feel a bit flabbier than I was (well a lot) and am having trouble going hard out at the gym as I want to spend every possible moment with dd. I want to look my best when we go back to NZ for Christmas.
HMC will have a look at that PND questionnaire on the web.

MrsDoolittle · 26/10/2004 09:51

I am back to pre baby weight too, although flabbier I bought two lovely pairs of trousers for going back to work and now they are too big. I should be pleased but they are really nice trousers!
You should see HD! She is like a stick!!

YG - What cute little girls you have! Lovely pictures

Chuffed · 26/10/2004 10:00

MrsD I'll do contact offline to try to get a meetup sorted out.

MrsD! I may have lost weight but I'm not toned underneath
YG - love the piccies!
Chuffed - sympathies re missing your dd. Mine is at the childminder's for the first time this morning - we're practising for next week. Had a bit of a wobble leaving her but am now spending quality time with ds, painting etc (better get off mumsnet... )

lunavix · 26/10/2004 11:30

My stomach is back to pre-ds size, but i seem to have these -saddlebags- at the back of my hips that i can't seem to shift.. argh!

Chuffed · 26/10/2004 11:35

I've just got a little bulge on my stomach that pushes over my trousers which I never had before.
It's the thing I've found the hardest of all - I think this has added to my just pathetic really as I see lots of people whose stomachs are worse than mine and they don't even have kids. DH keeps telling me I should be proud of how in shape I am and to look at the rewards - it is hard when you are a perfectionist by nature...
I'm having a much better day though believe it or not!

MrsDoolittle · 26/10/2004 11:45

I moaned about stretchmarks once and a friend told me, "I should be proud, they were my scars of motherhood. Look what I have to show for it."
Shut me up!

dolbear · 26/10/2004 14:08

hello
ds is well into rusks @ the mo , tho bit messy ! - bless
re the old post bump , i have 1/2 stine to go to be pre-bump weight and gods knows how long to tighten up the front bit !
not going to even think about until after xmas so there ha !

Chuffed · 26/10/2004 14:34

I think the hardest thing is that my stomach was better at 4months post birth than it is now...so a little frustrating to say the least.
dolbear are those the rusks from the babyshow? Aren't they made up like weetabix?

dot1 · 26/10/2004 16:14

I don't mind the stretchmarks - let's face it, who's going to see them now other than me and dp?! And I don't mind the flabby lower tummy thing - I'm blaming the c-section on that... It's the fact that I'm back to looking about 7 months pregnant and all my clothes are way too tight - actually went to Tescos last night in a pair of maternity pyjama bottoms - the shame of it..!

LucyJones · 26/10/2004 20:14

Well I only tried toast for the 1st time yesterday and I was holding it for ds as not sure if he'll choke if i just let him have it?!
I'm about 9st9, when I got married in 2002 I was 9st and would love to be that again but my stomach is all podgy and I hate it! Not enough to give up the wine and white chocolate maltesers though!

MrsDoolittle · 26/10/2004 21:14

Funny you should say that Chuffed. I was thinking only the other day that I looked flabbier now than I did a couple of months ago. Dh just moans when I mention this to him.

Dd has a tooth. It has come as a relief actually. Recently she has been scratching herself as I have been getting her ready for bed, I really didn't want it to be eczema. Apparently it's because she has been teething!

MrsDoolittle · 26/10/2004 21:59

Hi Chuffed. I received your CAT, have e-mailed you back

Chuffed · 27/10/2004 10:45

I replied MrsD.
Had a bit of a disturbed night last night after 2 nights in a row of fab sleep. The only thing different last night is that I went to the gym after work.
She could have just been hot but I'm wondering if my milk disturbs her after I exercise. Will see how she goes tonight as I am going at lunch time today.

MrsDoolittle · 27/10/2004 10:51

I seem to remember Fennel saying that her milk supply drops after excercise

Chuffed · 27/10/2004 11:23

I'm quite careful and work with a heart rate monitor and never go into anaerobic in the hope that I don't get lactic acid in my milk. There doesn't seem to be any problem with supply while dd is feeding, I just wonder if I'm producing lactic acid anyway.
Maybe I'll pop a post on lactic acid.

LucyJones · 27/10/2004 17:04

Hi again. I gave ds some bread crusts today (not toasted) and he had a lot less trouble with them. I take it that's ok to give him? Sorry, I sound like a becoming bread/toast obsessed!!!!

dolbear · 27/10/2004 19:18

uuuug , spent all day in the childresn ward and all night up with ds , completely zonked now , some kind of vius thingy , ds had temp of 28 and rising so took to the hopital , we are home now and he is asleep , finally , 1st time in 24 hrs
am gonna try and get some myself 2-night

hewlettsdaughter · 27/10/2004 19:50

eek dolbear! (although a temp of 28 - isn't that too low?) hope ds (and you) recover soon...

spots · 27/10/2004 22:19

YG, no worries re the steriliser - please thank dh for posting it though (how is his job going?)
I am experiencing a sense of impending doom re next week - though as you say it's inevitable. At least I'm not actually worried about work - I've been there ages and gone back after maternity leave before. It's just leaving dd and that whole 'no-one else will be able to look after her like I can' drama (seem to remember libb from May babies voicing this).
Spots - Tues went ok, thanks for asking . I was actually only away from dd about 3 hours. The childminder tried her with a bottle and although she didn't have much she is not out and out refusing to take the teat in her mouth. Am using an Avent bottle with a two-hole teat. Anyone know if this is reasonable for a 6 month old that has been (and still is being) breastfed?

handlemecarefully · 27/10/2004 23:09

Dolbear sorry to hear that ds has been unwell - glad he's a bit better now though...

Dot1 - so that you don't feel outnumbered by these skinny minnies who have lost their post baby weight (yah, boo sucks to you! ), I'm like you with 2.5 - 3 stone to loose. Have just started to do something quite positive however by stepping up my attendance at the gym; now 3 times per week and running (albeit not that fast) for 30 mins on the treadmill. So hopefully it will start shifting soon. That's what helped shift the weight last time after dd was born.

Chuffed · 28/10/2004 09:12

Well perfect night in the chuffed house...no gym last night so will see how it goes tonight after I return from spinning.
Guys I didn't actually put on that much weight during pregnancy which probably gives me a bit of an advantage. I put on a total of 13kg so by the time the baby was out and the fluid weight had evaporated there wasn't that much extra weight there. I also think gymming the whole way through pregnancy helped not put on to much extra (as well as a few genetics).

dolbear · 28/10/2004 11:28

sorry , I meant 38 - oops wayyy too tired !
ds is better today , just a bit moaning - blocked nose and a cough
I am just sooo tired ! managed to get a couple of hours last night though can not see straight , will get better though
