Mrs D - you just have to make sure the may mums don't beat the april mums on the ttc threads too I'm out of the running for that one though. am dithering between mirena coil and the snip for dp.

dot1, yorkiegirl etc - sorry you are all ill. it's so grim being ill and also having sick children.

there was a thread yesterday on 2 year olds jealous of new baby. HMC posted on it. actually, for the broody ones among you, it is an advantage of having another baby soonish, they accept a new baby easily, (though I'm sure someone can post a counter-example to that...)

Chuffed · 14/10/2004 11:38

have just joined the ttc thread

sorry so many of us are feeling grim.

lunavix · 14/10/2004 12:37

Chuffed - are you definately trying now then?

Interested in this thread?

yes, well practising in hope I think is more the term at the mo.

lunavix · 14/10/2004 13:13

I think dp is living in fear that i want another one - which i do - so soon! He says that we can't afford it but I think it's just me having more time not working we can't really afford...

dolbear · 14/10/2004 13:21

Mad . mad your all completely bonkers ! , in the nicest poss way of course as much as I love ds its gonna take MAJOR broodies to get me doing that again !
tries other threads b4 , but get scared off by militant mums !
something to do with food allergies i remember

dolbear · 14/10/2004 13:29

HD have e-mailed you

Chuffed - so you really are trying!!

Hummmm [thoughtful emoticon]

dot1 · 14/10/2004 15:28

oh my Lord - Chuffed and Mrs D??! - aarrggghhh!!! Just the thought of another new born so soon is making me feel quite dizzy..!! I feel a bit sad when I think I won't have another child - biological or otherwise - but I feel petrified if I imagine we're might have!! Are you sure you're ready for the sleepless nights ALL OVER AGAIN...???!

Just phoned home and ds2 is still coughing and spluttering away, bless him...

Chuffed · 14/10/2004 15:43

remember dot that you have your 2 ds's. dd has been pretty good and all I'd be hoping for is that the next one is as good as this one. We have never had a completely sleepless night and never felt completely exhausted at all (touch wood). She'll probably make up for it in her teenage years.
I miss her being a baby so much.

Fennel · 14/10/2004 16:01

it's the secret curse of having a good sleeper. fools you into having another too fast and all your friends will hop, in the nicest possible way, that it's a bad sleeper so you can really know what it's like having sleepless nights.

Fennel · 14/10/2004 16:01

hope, sorry, not hop!

Tickle · 14/10/2004 16:02

Just another quickie - to say hello of course, but to respond to that gauntlet from the May mummies!!

Nights going pretty well here, I'm sure dd2 is konking out because of the sheer volume of porridge she is taking on board at 6pm. Mind you - she's showing signs of snottines

I'm supposed to be getting the house sorted before ds1's friends trash it at his 4th birthday party on Sat. Any good ideas for games for 3,4 & 5 year olds inside the house? (weather here in DK brill now - hopeless forecast for Sat)

Only 7 kids in total thank god - but 3 of them don't speak a word of english, and my grasp of danish would make an 2yo shudder Planning to make industrial quantity of playdough to see me through!

Fennel · 14/10/2004 16:04

pass the parcel
hide and seek all over the house
games with balloons
choc button hunts
musical bumps with cushions (though that's verging on the complex for this age)

more hide and seek
more pass the parcel
party tea can take a good hour too.

Tickle · 14/10/2004 16:15

ooh yes - they would love hide and seek - my two bigger ones play it a lot, but i would never have thought of it for a party... thanks fennel

Chuffed · 14/10/2004 16:16

treasure hunt with simple clues an adult reads out when they are found, clues like big red cushion.

LucyJones · 14/10/2004 16:28

Chuffed this line made me laugh "I miss her being a baby so much." Our April babies are still babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tickle · 14/10/2004 16:35

that's true - i could maybe do picture clues for the treasure hunt - great ideas

Chuffed · 14/10/2004 16:36

god mine doesn't act like it really. I mean the helpless, not moving around like a maniac babies.
I blame all the exercise during pregnancy on the energy my dd has. She just never stops moving and is such an adventurer.
She tried to climb up on one of those 'childrens chairs' at nursery yesterday.

Chuffed · 14/10/2004 16:38

tickle what about statues...music stops and they stand as still as a statue and whoever moves before the music starts is out. When the music is on they are dancing and jumping around.

Tickle · 14/10/2004 17:03

chuffed - can't believe you've got a climber already! no wonder you're after another baby! dd2 still not rolling - almost sitting, but that's about it. maybe to do with miniaturised sherman tank proportions

statues will certainly be good for a short break from noise...

dolbear · 14/10/2004 17:12

how about sleeping lions - not allowed to say dead anymore - my mum was always a big fan of it - I wonder why ! ha ha

Tickle · 14/10/2004 17:31

another great idea - you're all geniuses

just plucked dd2 out of the bath - god they are cute at this age! dh has got the older 2 off on a day trip (it's half term here) so i've had a full day with smallest. a peaceful rare treat

lunavix · 14/10/2004 18:24

Fennel - that must be it! Ds is such a good baby and an excellent sleeper so i think that's whats fooled me too.. Do you ever get two good babies in a row? Ever?
