How often do you bath your kids?

I have a 2 and 3 year old. I’m just wondering how often people bath their kids?

Always every other night at least but if they are mucky during the day then every night.

barneymcgroo · 09/03/2020 20:17

Nightly, unless we're travelling somewhere or really late for bed. Highlight of his day.

firstimemamma · 09/03/2020 20:17

I have a 19 month old.

He gets a bath on mon, weds & fri and is perfectly clean.

On the fri night I wash his hair with shampoo (although it does get a quick wash with plain water and flannel every evening when I wash his face).

When it's not bath night I top and tail him.

Works for us.

Once a day when they were little. It was part of their bedtime routine.

Mine are all malodorous teenagers now, but still shower once a day.

Bol87 · 09/03/2020 20:17

Up until recently, daily as my DD loves her baths. She’d play for hours in there if she could!

But as we’ve dropped naps, she’s so tired at bedtime that we’ve gone to every other day or every third day. Depending on how grubby she gets in the day as well. Some days, she’s filthy! Particularly after nursery!

Bol87 · 09/03/2020 20:18

*DD is almost 3

2beautifulbabs · 09/03/2020 20:19

Every other night unless they have both done something that's made them messy my DS is almost 3 and my DD is 1 I don't tend to bath every night as I find that too excessive

Smarshian · 09/03/2020 20:19

Mine are 3 and 20 months. I bath them usually 3 times a week.

Jessie9323 · 09/03/2020 20:20

Nightly just because it's part of the routine he has with his dad before bedtime, while I make dinner. But if we have been out and it's too close to bedtime we miss a night

Knocksomesense · 09/03/2020 20:20

I also have a 2 year old and 3 year old. Sometimes they have a morning bath so I can get ready. Sometimes an evening bath to kill time. No set routine - sometimes it'll be 2 in a day and sometimes they will go without for 3 days. It also depends what they have had for dinner and whether we have been to the woods

VisionQuest · 09/03/2020 20:36

3/4 times a week

Cotswoldmama · 09/03/2020 20:44

It depends on the child my eldest has such awful eczema he only has 1 or 2 a week. Obviously if he got properly dirty he'd have a bath but otherwise I try not to as his skin gets do much worse after.

Toomuchtooyoung01 · 09/03/2020 20:46

Every night

georgialondon · 09/03/2020 20:53

Toddlers- every day

MyWorriedHusband · 09/03/2020 20:58

Every night

Oldest is 7. Always been every night.

(Obviously theres the odd exception. Late nights etc. So maybe 1 day a month where we switch bath to the next morning.)

Hair wash only once a week after swimming unless there's a need for more (or we swim more)

Wish my hair still looked clean after a week!

MerryDeath · 09/03/2020 21:03

every night unless exceptional circumstances for the 3 yo - i can't bear him going to bed dirty and he loves his bath. the baby, currently every other day. i myself am a passionate night showerer, the bed is my clean place.

When he was a baby, every night. Now he is 12 it takes threats of violence (ok, removal of WiFi) to get him near the shower!

LoisLittsLover · 09/03/2020 21:09

Every night, I think it's really important to instill good washing habits

TheVanguardSix · 09/03/2020 21:09

My 5 and 9-year-old 2 times a week.
Of course, they wash their faces and hands all the time at home, but actually bath twice a week, hair wash once a week.
My teen is funny. Sometimes he showers daily. Other times twice a week. I probably shouldn't admit the latter!

ParkheadParadise · 09/03/2020 21:10

Dd is 4. Every other night. Hair gets washed twice a week.

Mrsdoubtfireswig · 09/03/2020 21:12

DS is 2 and every night. Part of bedtime routine and he loves them. Very occasionally no bath if late night but that’s probably once every few months or so

Gillian1980 · 09/03/2020 21:14

Dd4 and DS9mths get bathed 3 times a week. More if needed.

Caterina99 · 09/03/2020 21:37

DS4 and DD2. Usually bath every other day unless really dirty or we’re out late.

strawberrysundayss · 09/03/2020 23:28

Hi I'm just curious reading such a huge variety of bathing routines. Those who bath kids 2-3 times a week, do you do the same for yourselves as adults?

If you bathe more or less than you bathe your children what was your decision making process?

Again no bias just very curious.
