Who has four or more children?

I was just wondering as I have four and alot of mumsnetters seem to gasp when they read that and ask how I manage and yet I come across a few other mumsnetters who also have four (or five) children. So I would like to know who is as crazy/besotted as I am and who is more so? Also, who has the most children? You can qualify if some of your children are step-children!

MUMINAMILLION · 27/09/2004 00:01

I have 4 - 11, 9, 4 and 3. Would love to have more but dh inconveniently disagreed and had snip. boo hoo

mears · 27/09/2004 00:02

Welcome back Gilli

I have 4 children and my house is a tip. It was untidy before I had any mind you. They are 17 yrs, 15 , 14 and 10.

mears · 27/09/2004 00:02

I would have more but I had the chop

MUMINAMILLION · 27/09/2004 00:03

And yurtgirl - you can have a tidy house - but no social life or a social life - but an untidy house. You cannot have it both ways!! (or maybe you can but Ive not found a way)

Tiggiwinkle · 27/09/2004 00:07

I have 5 children-all boys-aged 23,22,15,11 and 5. They all still live at home and the house is very untidy!

yamamoto · 27/09/2004 00:44

got 3 but under pressure for four!!, must go now!

lou33 · 27/09/2004 10:19

I have 4.

judetheobscure · 27/09/2004 10:27

I've got four. Girl 8, boys, 7, 5 & 3. I want one more but it's taken a long time presuading dh. He has finally agreed but then various things have combined to put things off for a bit.

House is fairly tidy but I do have a cleaner who does 3 hours cleaning and 3 hours ironing a week (yes I know, I'm very lucky).

It's difficult having a social life with dh. I have a reasonably one without him. But we don't have any family babysitters really and I'm reluctant to ask friends to babysit all four, even though they are reasonably good at going to sleep. We do use an agency once every couple of months but they are quite expensive. Given the choice I'll keep the cleaner and go out less often!

I'm going to show this thread to dh later. We've just had ds3 (4 weeks old) and I'm toying with the idea of 4. I've not decided yet but dh is going on about 'going down to the clinic' (him, not me!) but I don't want the choice taken away from me right now - I'm only 32 (just).

Did the people with 4 find a big difference between 3 and 4?

Blimey there are loads of you with 4 aren't there.

Have been trying to avoid this thread as I have 3 and would like 4. Dp is in agreement, it's just me who can't decide.

At the mo the only thing stopping me is that we can't really afford a bigger car.
We already have an estate, shame they don't do an extra seat to fit in the back .
