Tell me about your lovely son?

Just found out I'm having a boy 💙 and while delighted, I'm struggling to imagine what it will be like parenting a son.

I know this is ridiculous as I knew there was a 50/50 chance of baby being a boy.

We are a same sex couple and already have a DD. All his cousins are female and our friends with kids have all have girls so the little guy will grow up surrounded by women.

Please tell me about your lovely boys? They aren't too different to girls right? I'm a bit scared!

No one will love you like your boy x

My ds is such a quiet lad. He's nearly 17. He's always been quiet but around people he knows, he is funny and charismatic.

He's very helpful round the house (unlike his sister). He's one of 3 grandsons on either side but his cousins on my side are mainly girls. But in dh's family Dd is the only girl.

He has his moments but his dad winds him up while we have a lovely relationship. He often takes me out for costa.

My baby boy is 4 months old. I was always worried about having a boy too, but I don't know why! I have a 2 year old daughter too. My boy is just amazing, so super smiley, he's just so lovely. His personality is really coming through. Its early days yet, I know, and I know you were probably wanting comments from people with older boys, but I wanted to let you know that you weren't alone in fearing having a boy haha! But I can tell you that my heart is as big for my boy as it is for my girl, and I'm not worried anymore :-)

We are a same sex couple and have older DD and a younger DS. There is only 20 months between them. We love parenting them both and neither conforms to a gender stereotype but as people we find some differences. DD is very independent and DD much more cuddly. I also find that DS needs to expend more energy at random!

Delilah2301 · 24/10/2019 21:50

Sorry...meant DS much more cuddly!

My boy (6) is so sweet natured and caring; he's also funny and clever. I wouldn't change him for the world. ❤️

My little boy is nearly five and he’s amazing. He’s always been so sensible and thoughtful. He has a wonderful imagination. He’s quite quiet but very generous with the ‘I love you’s. He loves cars and trains and superheroes but he also loves animals. He’s just completely wonderful.

My little boy has just turned 10 months old and his little personality is starting to shine, he's brilliant, very cuddly and laughs at everything but VERY strong minded! He knows what he wants and when he wants it lol
I'm pregnant with my 2nd little boy and I couldn't be happier they will be so close (hopefully) everyone kept telling me ohh I hope you have a girl this time.. 🙄
Why? Lol I always wanted 2 boys close together so my little life is complete
And also batman & avengers and cars are just more me than princesses and things like that (not that all girls play with pink stuff) 😂 my friends little girl had a Spider-Man birthday party not long ago and my little boys favourite toy is a pink squid teddy 😂

My son (now 18) was the easiest baby/toddler)/child/teen I have ever heard of! Always happy, really easy going, slept like a dream from about 3 months old, never stroppy, just adorable. Everyone who meets him has always said what a lovely boy he is. I am so glad he is taking a year out before university so we got to keep him another year.

MonkeyLife · 25/10/2019 08:21

My little boy is 18months and so affectionate. He loves climbing, playing outside and puddles.... And he loves to help me do whatever I'm doing (cleaning, hanging washing up....) But every night when I get home from work, its definitely mummy cuddles time. He gives the best kisses (not quite got the hang of it yet tho...) but he is amazing. We don't have a girl, but I think it would not be much different....
Congratulations!

My boys are 16 and 13 and they still hug me and tell me they love me. One is sporty and "typically" boyish. The other is not. They're both funny and sweet and thoughtful. They do need a lot of reminding about loo seats though!

Littledryad · 25/10/2019 09:14

Congratulations boys are awesome.
My eldest is a Hurricane. He loves ferociously and has this amazing infectious zest for life and a crazy sense of humour that cheers me on the worst day. He also thinks mummy is the best in the world. He's a mummy's boy and he's so much fun. My little is a cuddle bug. He loves nothing more than to snuggle with mummy and he's a smile a minute. Boys toys are the best!
