Had a horrible morning this morning.

Ds2 has been a bit grumpy and needed feeds earlier than normal. Then I noticed about 11ish that he had a slight temperature, so I dosed him with Calpol and that brought it down.

Then when I was changing his nappy I noticed 5 little purple spots on his leg. Now, they could be just bruises where he's caught something or ds1 has been overenthusiastic with a toy... or could be a rash. A rash that didn't disappear under a glass.

Went to the doctor. He doesn't know what it is (but at least didn't say "they're bruises you daft cow"). Currently keeping an eye on him to see if they spread or if any other symptoms occur.

spots · 31/08/2004 13:51

oh G. don't fret... there are a million rashes in the world... I'm sure it will be fine. sorry he's under the weather.

GeorginaA · 31/08/2004 13:53

I'm sure it will too, just feel rather frazzled and still 3.5 hours before dh takes over!

how is he now georgina?

poor dd has gone to be un-routined tonight. no bath......been to pub instead. bad parents she got sooo tired we left and i just fed her, took her clothes off down to bodysuit and put her in cot - not moses basket - for first time. i must be the last on this thread to do that i am sure. she could reach both ends of her basket simultaneously, and didnt want to stunt growth - so finally succummed!

oooooohhhhhhhh, kaaaaaaaaaaaay, will post thumb sucking pic, if i haaaaaaveeeee tooooooooooo.

Aw that's beautiful, Egypt!

He seems to be okay. No new spots, and the ones he did have seem to be fading. Temperature doesn't seem to have come back. He's been a bit grumpy all day, but not excessively so (and could just as easily have been due to dragging him out to the doctor's just as he was due to get some sleep).

I don't regret taking him, but I am starting to feel a little silly now - must have been some kind of bruising.

DD has been under the weather today too Georgina. Not sure if teething or cold in ears following day at seaside yesterday. Calpol worked wonders though.

Got my mirena coil fitting on Thursday so hoping not to have a period before then.

linnet · 31/08/2004 22:05

Aww Egypt, your dd is so cute. Does she sometimes poke herself in the eye while she's sucking her thumb? Dd2 did this a lot at first, seems to have figured out what to do with her fingers now though. I've noticed though that if she sucks her left thumb she curls all her fingers in out of the way, but if she sucks her right thumb she keeps them all straight, not sure why.

Dd2 had her jabs yesterday, I had to hold her as the clinic was running late and dh had to go pick up dd1 from school. Poor baby it's the terrible look that they give you as if to say you let them hurt me Still it's for her own good that's what I keep telling myself. I noticed today that she has a red mark on her leg where the DTaP went in but it doesn't seem to be bothering her. How is your ds's Leg now Georgina?

Had a surprise visit today from a Friend who's been in Australia for a year. She just turned up, I didn't even know she was back yet. She met dd2 for the first time and dd2 did me proud by giving my friend lots of smiles and giggles.

I still have dd2 in her moses basket. Sometimes if I'm tidying up the bedroom I'll take the moses basket out and lie her in the cot so she can see me. Today she even had a nap in the cot, first time ever.

I still have no sign of my period. I thought that it would have been back by now seeing as I finished breastfeeding so long ago, but nope there is no sign. Hoping it arrives soon as I'm getting a bit paranoid.

I think dd is getting extra hungry now. Yet more night feeds and more day feeds as well. She weighs nearly 15 lbs so I suppose she's got a lot more girl to maintain... but this morning I am yawning.

Egypt · 01/09/2004 10:48

yes dd seems to be so much more hungry lately. last 2 nights she woke more regularly...if there is a regular pattern anywhere!?! and feeding so much more in day too. saw a dad at the docs this morning, who was chatting to dh when his wife and i had our little 'n's in hospital. his son sleeps through from 8-6am :( so NOT fair! but his son is on formula. he said his wife ran out. oh dear.

Egypt that pic is lovely. DD doesnt suck her thumb instead she shoves the whole hand in and almost chokes.

Last night we managed from 10.30 - 5.30am quite a acheivement. I did give ebm at 10.30 so I think this may have helped. I think im going to have to stop though as I dont seem to be able to express enough milk anymore. Im still doing 5 bottles for my mum on a friday. Its taking me approx 2 days to get 1 bottle so trying to express enough for a bottle at night is proving difficult. Oh well I suppose ill be back to waking twice at night again.

Egypt how are things going now that you arent giving ebm?

spots · 01/09/2004 13:07

DD has become suddenly a lot less sunny. Today it's been as much as I can do to coax her out of yelling for a few minutes, and there's no chance of her sitting entertaining herself with toys as she has done beautifully recently. The buggy is her worst enemy after being best friend last week. The front carrier is tolerated for a short while but then gets grumpy revving noises as she tries to get free. She doesn't seem to be distressed, just cross! I don't feel I can do anything right. And can't help thinking how dh can get her cooing and kicking so easily with his games. I know it's stupid but Ican't help taking it personally... Please tell me it's stupid, I am having a bad day! and dh is at a gig tonight and staying over in Edinburgh so dd is stuck with me till tomorrow evening...

kbaby · 01/09/2004 17:32

Spots, I doubt very much that DD has something against you. shes just having a off day. I think its a babies perogative(not sure if ive spelt it right) to like something one minute and not the next. I think its to keep us guessing.

Heres some piccies of my little one. Its not me in the picture but my mum, so I dont want any I look old for my age jokes oh and the hat was too big, i bought a size 12-18 months, thats why it looks odd.

Kbaby, she is a darling! why won't my baby smile?!

kbaby · 01/09/2004 17:45

anyone else getting the same message, if so HELP. Not sure why the message is comming up.

Thanks

kbaby · 01/09/2004 17:46

Libb its because I stand behind the camera pulling the most stupid faces and waiting until she finally smiles. She is now used to it though and as soon as the camera appears she smiles ready.

PicadillyCircus · 01/09/2004 17:48

Kbaby, your version of the link worked! You have a very cute baby

In fact all of you who have posted pictures of your babies have very cute babies. You also have the most talkative thread of babies I think although April babies seem to do quite well I think.

I managed to kill the November/December babies thread so I lurk around littler babies instead!

Judd · 01/09/2004 21:32

Hello! Back from glamorous holiday in Coventry! DH v. cross because I am catching up on the thread rather than helping unpack stuff so I will shove off and post at leisure tomorrow....
