Um... that's four things. My excuse is I have a hangover ;)

GeorginaA · 28/08/2004 13:22

Also, why bother going to all the issue of hunting someone down via the net for their kids, who could be on the opposite side of the country, when all they'd have to do is walk into the local park or supermarket?!

spots · 28/08/2004 14:21

A hangover Georgina!! michty me... what've you been up to?

Good points you make, tho' the fact that you've had a stalker AT ALL is quite sobering news...!blimey...

looks innocent... night out with the girls last night... drinks were on a two for one deal. I actually got off quite lightly!

Re: the stalker - he was a bit of a disturbed bloke, don't think he realised that he was doing anything unacceptable to be honest. Harmless, but rather intense, wouldn't take "bog off" as an answer and more than a little freaky.

hi all, you'll have to let me know if that works now.

you'll definitely have to watch out now twiglett. dd can't roll yet, despite my attempts to put her over! bless. she can do the last bit but then gets stuck with her face in the ground.

just put dd to bed unswaddled for the second night running and she went down wide awake and promptly fell asleep on her own - aahhhh bliss. very happy about this. i also bf her instead of a bottle and she actually slept q a bit longer last night than she has for a while, so i guess mears was very right.

dh and i spent the day doing the garden today. we're trying to put a patio in, and have loads of sleepers that the previous owners left. we're planning on edging the patio with them and filling it in with some stones of some description. not q sure what yet, but cheap ones . we've knocked down walls and started to returf where they have come down, to make the lawn bigger. very exciting. i'm sure we'll be fed up of it this time tomorrow and dh wants to play golf tomorrow pm - which i am NOT very happy about......he wants to go monday as well. "but i'm on holiday". well, you play every w.e and anyway, when do i get to have a holiday!!!! grr

Just popping in to say Egypt your dd is gorgeous You look pretty glamorous too! I'm on the April thread but occasionnally lurk here and love piccies!

kbaby · 28/08/2004 22:48

Egypt, the pics are lovely.

Georginaa you are right of course. Once DP is in work ill post some photos.

libb · 28/08/2004 22:53

Egypt, you and DD are far too pretty for the likes of me, and you make it look easy - I look like death warmed up and my hair is full of gloss paint .

Good news is that DS is upstairs in bed, bad news is that something is still causing interference on the monitor and it is irritating me!

spots · 29/08/2004 01:03

Oh I am up late!

Cooking this goldarn' wedding cake for a friend and finally got round to doing it... it has to be babysat and skewered at regular intervals. But I also had bit of a night out tonight with local MUMS! great. Timed between feeds, but DH said when I got back that he'd given DD a bottle of expressed milk because she'd woken up!! and managed to get 2 layers of cake out the oven at perfect moment.

Think I ought to just go back out again.

The bottle thing is a bit of a breakthrough!

Egypt...

Egypt · 29/08/2004 08:15

glamourous?? you should see me sat here in a sick stained yellow tshirt and a pair of knickers

your night out sounded great spots, and what a nice feeling to know that dh can cope so well! mine wouldnt have a clue. bit like his mil...enough said...well no, she DID babysit last thurs afterall. but i was there to oversee things as we left after bedtime. she warmed her bottle of milk up to about 1 degree past fridge cold. needless to say dd didnt take it and screamed the place down. mummy intervened and felt the bottle - dur, what a stoooooopis woman. then she took her to her room, in a 'I'M DOING IT GO AWAY' kind of attitude. she cried for ages and i resisted until thought of an excuse to go in - turn the monitor on! we left when she was still cuddling her but it had gone quiet. luckily she stayed asleep the whole time we were out. phew. (do believe her as fil said). but when i gave her her 11pm feed she had the bloody bib still round her neck and flapped up over her face. ooo, some people!

Egypt, how tantalising... (lecherous grunt, muffled fumbling noises etc.)

Libb how is your ds's swollen jab mark?

Today was full of visitors. DD has got to the stage where she looks suspiciously at strangers who hold her, and if she is in a bad mood will burst into tears. I am quite impressed, and not a little flattered when she calms down when I take her back... She also thinks physical games - swooping and swinging - are fab in a way she never did before.

DH read her her first book tonight: 'Maisy's Rainbow Dream'. She was half watching the huge wedding cake all wrapped up in foil, but seemed interested enough. It was a good book for a baby, and for a DH. 'This is a good book' he said. aww.

Bozza · 29/08/2004 22:02

Can't keep up with you lot at all. Some lovely pictures - will have to try and get some of mine online. Egypt am really jealous that you have so many of your DD smiling - mine will not smile for the camera and she has such a gorgeous smile. Really tired because went out last night. Left DD with MIL - did not go that well - although DH thinks I am fussing too much. Will post more tomorrow when I report in on my weight loss. Since night out involved a chinese its not looking good on that front.

libb · 29/08/2004 22:25

Spots - there is still an obvious lump except it now looks more of a bruise than a red mark now. I think I might stilll phone the NHS line to double check - he didn't react this badly with the first one. That said he seems happy enough so hope it just a localised reaction.

Bozza, on a whim I took DS to one of those cheapy photo sessions in Boots (photo pixie? or something . . .) as I have been meaning to get a professional pic for ages. Knowing DS like I do I know he won't smile for love or money at strangers so didn't want to waste good money on the serious stuff - know what I mean? true to form he refused to smile once except when being held by me (and I won't have my picture taken!) so the poor young girl nearly bust a gut trying to get that elusive picture. She finally asked "do you prefer him to be natural?", "you mean miserable? of course I do!" bless her, she did try very hard though.

Linnet · 29/08/2004 23:26

Hey everyone, how are you all doing?

It seems like quite a few of us were out this weekend. I was out last night at my friends birthday the one where I had to dress up in 70's clothes! I had a great night, chinese meal followed by Karaoke, such a good laugh. I didn't get home until 2.30am which was a lot later than I had planned for seeing as dd1 had her birthday party today but I didn't feel to bad today at all, I expected to feel a lot rougher. Dh was babysitting dd2 while I was out. Dd1 had a great party at a kids play area. Dd2 was really good as well, had her feed shortly after we arrived then slept. When she woke up she watched all the other children running around.

Hermione, my dd2 was born on May 21st, our babies share a birthday I always post quite late as I'm a night owl.

dd2 gets her second lot of jabs tomorrow luckily dh doesn't start work until 4pm so he will be able to come with me and hold her while she gets them.

I still haven't managed to get the photo's onto my webpage. We're switching over to Broadband soon so maybe then it'll work.

Ok, off to bed now got to get up for the dreaded school run in the morning.

kbaby · 30/08/2004 14:20

Hi all.
Its a year today that I conceived my little madam.
Bank hol, booze, party not a good combination and we did the same this year except the conceiving bit, well at least I hope not.

DD's now taken to trying to lift herself out of her bouncy chair. It almost looks as if shell fall out. Shes also going around in a constant mouth open state, this means that if anything comes within a 6 inch radius its latched upon and sucked to death.

Egypt · 30/08/2004 19:09

blimey!!! another due may thread?! they must have JUST conceived. i conceived a year ago on the 25th and i forgot about it until now :(

dd was 3 months exactly on the 28th but didnt forget about that. she can suck her thumb properly, so pleased....could post you the pic but must resist!

Snap kbaby I did too. Went to a wedding on the Saturday and DH got drunk and agreed to go for it, was too drunk on the Sat, too hung over on the Sun so I managed to lure him to bed on the Monday evening although he was going away for work that night!

spots · 31/08/2004 08:56

I keep worrying that I'm pregnant again NOW, because I have period pains but no period, which is what happened last time. now wouldn't that be mad? Not worried enough to check, mind.

DD has cold. Permanant stream from nose to mouth. does that count as mixed feeding?

kbaby · 31/08/2004 11:40

LOL spots

I was having period pains last night. Didnt know if I was ovulating and thats what it was. Maybe ill get a period in spetember

libb · 31/08/2004 11:51

Mine came over the weekend - that combined with trying to sort childcare within the next 5/6 weeks and picking up the progress bounty pack makes me feel like my fun is well and truly over! Although I have e-mailed my line manager to ask if I can add some annual leave to my time so fingers crossed!

(I think I might've just been walking round town with my jeans undone ) I just hope his buggy hid it!
