sorry . . .

libb · 27/08/2004 13:01

little monkey is blowing raspberries at me - do girls do this? or is he really a proper monkey?!

GeorginaA · 27/08/2004 13:09

ds2 is a little monkey... a swear he grips on with both his hands and feet... AND he does that wide eyed stare thing that you see on nature programmes about baby monkeys...

... just as long as he doesn't start eating nits, I'm happy.

libb - I double checked with dh and he says that the data company are highly unlikely know if you've got licenses or not for the software anyway... it'll only be an issue if you have anything criminal on there. Assuming your ex hasn't been doing a Glitter you should be fine...!

spots · 27/08/2004 13:39

What a flurry of postings... DH working from home today. He has taken DD for a walk; she is in a foul temper today despite good sleep last night. I am thinking that she has taken a turn against me even tho' I know this is silly thinking... DH can get her chirruping away in a way that I just can't ! (does anyone else have this?)

Lovely lovely children Twiglett and Egypt. Same shape as mine!

Georgina from what I hear of school and nursery aged children it might be quite good to have a nit eater in the household?

GeorginaA · 27/08/2004 13:59

Good point, spots ;)

Dd2 can talk!

She was lying on her mat and she said "Hiya" It was so cute and she kept on saying it so Dh and I were saying it back to her.

She was also trying to roll over trying to move her whole body to one side not just her legs, but soon lost interest, shame. I try to put her on her tummy every day for a little while but she only lasts a few minutes before she starts crying. She was trying to lift her head up a little bit more today but soon got fed up. Maybe I should have waited until her hiccups had finished, hmm.

took dd1 to school this morning then went into town. Dd2 fell asleep in the pram as usual at around 8.45am but only slept for 20 minutes! She then screamed all the way round town and all the way home. She needed to sleep but wouldn't sleep in the pram. so when we got home we put her in the moses basket and she slept for 45 minutes. I'm happy that she likes to go to sleep in the moses basket but at the same time I need her to sleep in the pram sometimes. When we go to London in October we won't have the moses basket for naps and we'll be out most of the day so she'll have to sleep in the pram if we're out. I hope she comes round to the idea.

linnet · 27/08/2004 14:06

Oh and Egypt, your dd is lovely. I'm going to look into this photobox site tonight see if I can upload some photo's.

libb · 27/08/2004 15:44

We can certainly talk! My little monkey and I fell asleep on the sofa so only half the glossing is done! thankfully he is still there so I can get on (with this).

Mine really is a monkey! I swear the other day he looked me straight in the eye, cupped a bosoom in each hand and then, with no sense of remorse, squeezed a nipple really ruddy hard! . . . and then laughed when mummy yelped! DP gets all the nice smiles and laughs

Just realised that it is a year to the day I SHOULD'VE had a period! how very efficient of me. But not much fun, how I have missed this joy.

kbaby · 27/08/2004 16:46

ok hope this works.

kbaby · 27/08/2004 16:47

obviously not, Ill try again

this

kbaby · 27/08/2004 16:48

yeahhh. Its taken me half the afternoon to do that. Noah dropped our pc off on his way through. Hense why its so slow to upload anything and why I only did one piccie.

libb · 27/08/2004 16:49

It said I wasn't logged in . . . I want to see your darling!

kbaby · 27/08/2004 18:41

Hope this works better, This is all so complicated.
water baby

The picture isnt very flattering as she looks scared stiff but it took too long to download any others at the same time. Now ive got the hang of it ill do some more soon.

Gutted!!! just read gf book and for a 13 week old they should be sleeping 10-7.30am. I get excited if DD lasts until 3am.

Mil had dd today due to my cold and feeling rough.
MIL recommended adding a rusk to DD's bottle as shed downed 9ozs and was still hungry. Think Ill pass on that one.

Called bf counsellor today as dd not gaining weight and fussing when i feed her. She keeps smiling and burying her head in my boob and shaking about. Counsellor thinks the latch isnt very good.
Have to spend this weekend trying to improve it. I think I have become quite sloppy in latching her on, but the way they show you is to hold the back of her shoulders with the opposite hand and my hand aches, its too uncomfortable so I put the same side arm around her back

Judd · 27/08/2004 19:07

Fab picture KBaby! I really want to take DS swimming coz we are going to a hotel next week and it has got a little pool. Our HV said not to do so until after all 3 sets of jabs - have you had different advice?

Egypt · 27/08/2004 19:29

kbaby · 27/08/2004 20:55

Thanks everyone

our HV said the same thing but I searched the immunisation website and they said it was safe. Heres the link website
also theres a link on here i started about swimming.
I was told the risk is the changing table, encase babies who had had polio pooed and it was caught by someone who hadnt been immunised. I took some antibacterial cleaner and cleaned it. The chlorine in the water kills all the germs. I also didnt even ask my pool if it was ok. I just took her in.

spots · 27/08/2004 20:58

Kbaby I like the NOSE coming in the side... is it yours?! Lovely Baby tho'....

and Egypt your thingy isn't letting me in; says not logged in...

I am trying SO HARD to get pics on here believe me, at the moment trying to get adaptor for ancient clanky camera. Can you have a clanky digital camera? We can.

kbaby · 27/08/2004 21:22

Heres the link to the thread I started on swimming.
swimming link

I didnt notice the nose dp and I both have big noses so poor dd is going to end up with one. DP says at least she wont have to worry about her sunglasses falling off..LOL.

I have a delima(sorry havent the foggiest how its spelt) DP has said to me tnight that it annoys him when my mum takes dd off him. E.g went over there tonight and he was watching the rugby and had hold of dd and my mum said 'let me have her' now I know she was doing it to let dp watch the rugby in peace but he says its happened before and if its annoying him im going to have to say something to her. But what do I say. She loved dd to bits and only does it as she knows we have dd all the time and feels that it gives us a break while we visit her etc. I dont want to hurt her feelings but also dont want dp to get funny with her which he may if she carries on doing it.. What should I do????

kbaby · 27/08/2004 21:24

just noticed that the picture shows my name in the corner. Bugger going to have to change that

Judd · 27/08/2004 21:47

I want pictures on here too! Unbelieveable that DH is an IT consultant and still so crap at this....
Thanks for the swimming info Kbaby. Will have a look and then root out our swimming seat. Hoorah indeed !

kbaby · 27/08/2004 21:52

Dp had a fit about me putting photos on here. He says all the wierdos can see them and made me delete it. Think it paniced him out a bit when it showed my name. Twiglett, your name also shows. Dont know if your ok with this.

hermione32 · 28/08/2004 00:07

Hi again,
i love the piccies of the babies they really are all so gorgeous, but then i never could resist twinkly eyes and gummy smiles . Ds is called Michael and was born on the 21st may, he is the last of 5 kids 3 boys and 2 girls oldest is almost 12, (you'd think i'd know what i was doing by now but i still worry like a first timer . I love reading the comments on the board but unfortunately by the time i've sorted the rabble out and fed the baby time is getting on and most of you have hopefully managed to get into bed. On a plus side tho ds is sleeping thru the night and gaining weight like mad so i shouldnt grumble about the stuff he has probs with.
Well dh will be home soon, nite all,
sweet dreams,
hermione and mikey 14wks +1 x

Re: pictures for all to see.

As you know, I have a weblog and a photolog which is visible to everyone. I think it's important to remember two things:

  1. the photos that turn up in computer raids are far more gruesome than just an innocent snap of a happy baby.
  2. if a paed wanted to get off on normal pictures of children, they'd just sign up for a blooming marvellous catalogue - lots of kids in skimpy swimsuits there.
  3. it's extremely unlikely someone would bother to hunt you and your child down just from a photo on the net. You are far more at risk from family or a close friend who is that way inclined.
  4. I am careful of my information on the net, but if someone was dedicated it would be possible to find me. However, I have been on the net for about 12 years and in that time I have only had one stalker issue - and that was someone I had first met in real life and had started being a problem in real life first.

Hope that helps to put the risks in perspective :)
