mrs D - I am probably being too cryptic. am reluctant to post the actual website but maybe we can try and do what the may thread have done with photobox?

if you found my project website, you can find a link to me, the project manager, which links to my personal work page which has a link to baby photos. that's if you're bored enough on a very wet day!

Fennel - they're beautiful. Your little girls are very pretty. I'll have to post you some of mine now. I'll upload the latest ones and ask dh to sort something out for me tonight.

Lovely photos Fennel . I have some of dd on a webpage - don't really want to post the address here though, so if anyone's interested CAT me (ie use the 'Contact another talker' link at the top of the page).

It's back! Kristina, are you using anything to help with teething? I was wondering about calgel. There's also a homeopathic remedy, teetha granules, isn't there - think we tried this with ds though and don't remember it doing much.

dot1 · 26/08/2004 09:40

Another nightmare night... No screaming though, but ds woke up every hour or so from 2am - chatted to himself for a whole hour at one point... He goes off now if we go in and say 'shhh', and tuck him in.

But the other problem we're having is that he gets soaking wet every night, which can't help. We use Moltex during the day - can anyone recommend a good nappy for nighttime - not sure whether to buy some Pampers to experiment just at night?

Really need to get a good night's sleep soon..

MrsDoolittle · 26/08/2004 09:41

Oooh teething! Already?
Dd slept untill 5.30am - yey , although I was awake at 4am waiting for her to wake up This may have been because she had her 3rd set of injections yesterday, they made her very sleepy last time. The hv was very nice, she said that dd won't have any problems at nursery because she is so beautiful!! Which doesn't sound very pc to me, but exactly what I wanted to hear
I think there are a few of us on here who are nhs/univerity work based.
Haven't sorted those photos yet. Dh and I are thinking where we might move to!

Dot have you really not considered reusables. It's a bit sad, I know, but I have fallen in love with my nappies. I hate having to use disposables now. I am convinced that they are more comfortable and absorbant at night.

hewlettsdaughter · 26/08/2004 11:50

Haven't heard of Moltex nappies - we use Huggies and they seem to be ok at night (I don't like the smell of Pampers!)

Fennel · 26/08/2004 14:54

KristinaM - I think Willowbank hotel is ok. My friend's parents stayed there once and I went to visit them there but that was years ago. it's only a couple of miles from Chorlton.

sorry not to know more about the local hotels, obviously we never stay in them!

am on the verge of giving up my job today as boss being unreasonable. I feel they should be nice to me cos I came back early from maternity leave but the work is piling up. I am not doing it as am spending every morning in the baby room at nursery - it's very relaxing, all soft music and sleeping babies, it makes me want to go to sleep myself.

dot1 · 26/08/2004 19:59

am going to have a think about reusables - I know it's a bit weak, but I can't think where we'd get the time from to wash them! In the meantime I've bought some Pampers to see if they make any difference.

Sooooo tired now... Am really hoping ds sleeps through longer tonight - he had his last lot of jabs aswell, so fingers crossed that and the Calpol will knock him out..!

Need some energy as we're wallpapering a room tomorrow - must be insane to be doing redecorating with toddler, baby and Mum helping!!

dot1 · 26/08/2004 20:14

P.S. Had ds weighed today aswell - he's now 18lbs!!!

Fennel · 26/08/2004 20:29

dot1 - decorating with toddlers is chaotic! mine like to join in with paintbrushes etc.

It sounds as though we are all tired and babies all waking more than they were. dd3 is getting big too but I haven't had her weighed for ages. a friend brought her 2 week baby round and dd3 looked enormous in comparison.

will look forward to seeing other baby photos, bald or not! my dds are far more photogenic than I am :)

We are very pleased with Nature Boy and Girl nappies - using them for both sprogs. Made from maize so mostly biodegradable (if not totally - I'm not sure) and hold incredible amounts of wee! Sainsburys sell them.

Someone swapped my lovely ds (22 months) for the toddler from hell today. Half an hour of shouting (on my part) and screaming (on his)just trying to get a clean nappy on. Aaargh. Kept saying 'potty' but then when I let him get up from the mat he would run off and not sit on it. We're not particularly trying to potty train but does anyone know if he actually wants to start using it if he won't have nappy on? He does tell us when he has done a poo.

Bought some Easy Up pants today to see if they will make a difference.

Fennel - I am so thick. I can't find your website. Or if I have, I can't find your pix. What an utter failure I am .

MrsD, dot - hope your babies are ok after their jabs. My dd had her last lot a couple of weeks ago and I did end up giving her calpol as she was pretty hot and unsettled.
Have bought calgel for teething - anyone know if this is any good? It has chamomile in apparently.
Fennel, hope your party went ok. Do you feel happier about leaving dd3 at nursery now that you have spent some time there?

peachypie · 26/08/2004 23:07

DD had first taste of something other than baby rice today, banana, think she liked it,although not sure how much went down most of it was on her bib.
sleeping well so far so good 10.00 - 6.00pm not bad, sounds like a few of you would like more sleep i hope dd doesnt start to wake again i cant stand broken sleep especially with a 3yr ds to entertain with truck loads of energy all day!

dd still isnt interested in trying to roll.

dot1 - tesco own brand purple packets (not the value ones) nappies are great at holding in loads of wee!!

handlemecarefully · 26/08/2004 23:19

I haven't posted on here for weeks (won't bore you with my excuses). Where are these photos of Fennel's little girls mentioned further down the thread? - I'd like to take a peek? Anybody else going to post photo's somewhere so that I can be nosey?

Baby ds went to Day Nursery today. I decided that I needed at least some time to myself, so he is spending a day there per week every Thursday (one of the three days that his 2 year old sister attends)....I should have done something indulgent with the time, but instead I did a load of washing, cleaned out the fridge etc!!! I think I've forgotten how to spoil myself / relax.

Apparently ds was very chilled and happy at Nursery. Barely noticed I wasn't there I dare say!

peachypie · 26/08/2004 23:23

hi handlemecarefully, its good to know your ds settled in to nursery ok, its a relief to know they are settled isnt it.

I know what you mean about the relaxing time to yourself, why is it everytime the dgp's take the kids i plan a bath but always end up cleaning the bathroom and doing some other task instead of making the most of my me time (sad isnt it?)
