Do you think I should be worried? He fell asleep in the car around 1.45 ISH. Woke briefly during cot transfer at 2.15. Not heard a peep since. He is breathing....I checked

My DS was like this bank holiday weekend. Was better in 2 days. Gave you tried calpol

Littlebird88 · 03/09/2018 20:28

if be concerned enough to check with a thermometer.
I'm.over cautious though

thaegumathteth · 03/09/2018 20:29

There’s no way I’d leave him until tomorrow morning without checking his temperature

His temp is definitely less than 38. You can tell. I'll check on him before bed. Agreed though, it is a little concerning. I'm glad he woke easily when I went in to him at 7.

Historically he is a sleeper but never like this

Have you checked his hands and feet to see if they feel cool or warm?

If they feel cool that's a bad sign and I'd be more concerned, and maybe ring the OOH doctor for advice. I'd also be checking to see if a rash of any sort has appeared (and do the glass test on it if it was there too).

Quartz2208 · 03/09/2018 22:10

And his breathing and heart rate

Catspyjamazzzz · 03/09/2018 22:15

DD would do this occasionally.
Usually would still go to bed fine and be over it the next day.

Even in the holidays she slept in till 11am (she’s 10) one day and went to bed early that night.

Sometimes sleep is a great healer.

Prusik · 03/09/2018 22:34

Dh had just checked on him and apparently he feels physically fine. I'll send DH in to him again when baby wakes in about an hour

I'm not going to lie, I'm concerned but not concerned enough to raise the alarms just yet. I'll ring the health visitor tomorrow if he presents no further symptoms and if he does present symptoms, I'll ring the doctor. Physically he presents as well. My housemate is a paramedic so help is on hand if needed

He's still asleep!

Prusik · 04/09/2018 04:32

He's just woken. Dh gave calpol and milk and he's back in bed. Apparently he was pointing at the cot. I think I woke him getting up to go to the loo. I'm actually starting to get really worried about him. Definitely going to the doctor's first thing. Dh has to be up in an hour for work so we'll assess whether to call ooh or wait for our surgery to open

Spoken to DH. we're going to a&e. He has sufficient symptoms to raise the alarm for sepsis/meningitis. Just getting bags packed and organised now while both boys are in bed. Dh is the key holder at work tonight so has to open up the shop at 7
