Creepy things your children have said...

Hi all, just a bit of fun, but have your kids said/seen creepy things?

My daughter has terrified me in the past in the dark at bedtime with "that man behind you" and has now described in great detail a creature that actually has me nervous too...

Is it just my daughter?!?

DS and I were flying from Dublin to London City Airport, he was probably about 3 or 4 yo. We had just boarded the plane and DS asked me "Where is this plane going?" I told him we were going to London and he said "No, this plane is going to the bottom of the water, we should get off now." That last sentence was said in a nice clear voice just in a really quiet bit where they had turned the engines off and restarted (or something).

We didn't get off and the plane landed in London City with no problems but the woman in the row in front of us had a white-knuckled grip on her armrest for the whole flight.

Haha! Oh wow that's unnerving and also well timed. I'd love to know where the dark thoughts come from. I think my daughter's imagination could make some really upsetting horror fillms.

My three year old started shouting “Go away, go away, go away” at the top of his voice around 8 o’clock the other night (in bed, still light, no blackout blind as it gets roasting hot so just a thin blind and curtains). When I went in, he said the eyes were watching him and there was something in the window. He really meant it and his eyes didn’t leave the window frame all the time we were having the conversation. It is the second time he has said he sees eyes in his bedroom. He wouldn’t believe me when I said there was nothing there until I opened the curtains and the blind and had a good poke around.

Older ds in his 20's slept on the sofa when we were away as he could hear a dc running along the upstairs landing.
Old farmhouse, no neighbours!
Most of my dc have similar experiences though older ones don't mention to the youngest ones at my request.

My daughter (9) just casually dropped into conversation her imaginary friend who lives in the bedroom. Apparently she hides under the bed if me or her dad walk in the room. She has been there forever but never leaves her bedroom.
Remind me never to look under her bed again...

My 7 year old says creepy things fairly often. A few years ago she asked me what happens after there are no more days. When l said 'well nothing I suppose', she looked straight at me and said, in a very serious voice, "Yes. It's soon"

My DD used to wave whilst looking behind me and whenever I asked who she was waving to shed say that old man, is turn around and nobody there . She was 2 at the time and always in or around the house when it happened.

Showing 2 year old son gravestones outside church. “That’s a gravestone, do you know what a gravestone is?” He responds “it’s where you go to bed” ...uh... yeah... sort of.

I guess a grave kind of looks like a bed...

My 4.5 year old has imaginary friends. At our old house in the states she played with them all the time...tea, dolls, read books to them, up chatting with them at night.

One was Ally, 3, and she looks blue. One was Eleanor, 5, who is covered in red spots and allergic to blueberries.

Ally has followed us to our new home but my daughter is much more secretive about her now. Doesn’t openly play or y’all about her much. I know she’s still around because I’ll move something and DD will stop me because it is for Ally but then will quickly stop discussing her.

4 y/o DD and I were walking home. We turned into our street and she pointed at the floor at said " Mummy look over there. All the peoples died there Mummy, see all the blood". I said " there's nothing there, don't worry". She then got persistent saying " mummy look, just look at the dead peoples' blood".

When my DS was three we moved house. After a couple of days I asked him if he liked our new house. He said “this isn’t your house mummy, this is the lady’s house. I asked him what lady and he said the lady in his bedroom.

Also my dad died when I was a teenager. DS (still 3yo) said “your dad is dead isn’t he mummy?”. I asked who had told him that and he said “he did”. He said that my dad talked to him in his bedroom.

He also told me that his great grandad talked to him and that he talked funny. My grandad was from the east end of London and we’re from the Midlands. He’s also been dead for twenty years and my DS had obviously never met him.

We moved into a very old property that was a wall away from a disused graveyard.

Roughly a month after we had settled DS1(5) Refused to go to bed, he got hysterical and after a while he said he didn't want to play with Gracie anymore, she was mean and didn't like boys.

I thought he meant someone at school, but no, apparently Gracie lived over the wall with her little sister Annie and they would play with his trains.
Gracie didn't like him apparently and wanted to play with newborn DD but Annie wouldn't let her because she's not nice to babies 😳

My daughter started staying at her Dads when she was 4 years old but kept coming home saying she didn’t want to sleep there because ‘Doctor keeps waking me and shaking my bed’ or ‘Doctor tries to get me to go with him’.
When I spoke to my Grandmother about it in passing conversation, she said ‘isn’t that odd as those flats were built on an old mental asylum hospital’.

I love reading these! When my DD was 2 she pointed to a picture of my auntie at my mums house and said 'big cough and gone up the sky'. My auntie had died of lung cancer 8 years before.

My littlest would have little babbly conversations with the corner of the room whilst sat in his cot. He said the word man and pointed once when I went to settle him.

As a toddler and til she was about 6/7y DD used to have night terrors whenever she was over excited or anxious. She could 'see' people or creatures, and would look straight through you. She had her eyes wide open, but couldn't see or acknowledge us as such. She was scream or talk to and about these tings she could see. When she 'came out of' the night terror she had no recollection at all.

She also had a couple of imaginary friends. First one arrived at 18m, second one about a year later. They gradually stopped being a part of our lives sometime during the summer of Reception year at school. They weren't creepy really though. As far as DD was concerned they were just invisible friends that only she could see.

My DD when 2/3 would insist Daddy was Home, when he wasn’t and point to a corner. We’ve since moved and DS, similar age, is always telling me that Daddy is in the attic.

One afternoon when DD was just about 4yo she said:"Mama, I remember having been alive before.". I said "Oh, do you remember anything from that time?". Answer "I was with you and we were all happy. But when I turned 8 it stopped. And now I'm here again with you."

She's 12yo now but boy was I worried...

When my nephew was around 3 I was baby sitting him while my sister and her dh were at a wedding. I went to go into the spare room and he quickly ran past me and slammed the door shut and said in a very creepy voice "you are not allowed in their, that's where the mean man lives and he will be cross if you go in!"

I was absolutely terrified and when I asked my sister about it the next day she said he often mentioned the man in the spare room.

DD aged about 3 once told me there was a monster in her room that “has my clothes on and it has my face on.”

DD must have been about 2 and she would chat and laugh with "that man in corner", a few weeks after that started I was settling her one night and she was smiling and pointing, thinking she was pointing at me at first I asked her what she was pointing at. She said "mummy's granda". I said "no granda's at home". She responded "not MY granda, MUMMY'S granda"! He died a year before she was born, it was kind of comforting rather than freaky tbh, he loved kids so I wouldn't be surprised if he paid a visit.
