If your child has brown eyes, were they brown at birth?

Or, if they changed from blue to brown, when did this happen?

DD is three months old and has blue eyes, like me. Her dad has brown eyes, so I wonder if DD's will turn brown.

I've seen other threads about eye colour changes and when they happened, but I got confused as some people were talking about more subtle changes, such as a change from blue to grey (which I think tends to happen later?)

My son's eyes were dark pretty much straight away. My daughter's have stayed very blue despite everyone saying they would change (both DH and I have brown eyes). My mum says mine didn't go brown til I was about 1 but I think this is very unusual. All my siblings have very blue eyes. It's unpredictable I think!

My daughter's changed around 8 months, but before that she had grey blue eyes with a distinctive splodge of brown on one side. If you look really closely you can still see that it's a slightly different colour. I have grey eyes and oh has light brown, DD1s are dark brown.
Dd2 has my sister's blue eyes and she is almost 2.
My nephew is mixed race white/Pakistani and his eyes are a stunning bright blue still at 9 months.
