I am secretly very unreasonable about people who live in cities who do not vaccinate their children.

OP posts:

Saturn74 · 29/04/2007 23:06

one person's 'airy fairy' is likely to be another person's deeply held belief.

electra · 29/04/2007 23:07

quite HC

Saturn74 · 29/04/2007 23:07

I also agree with electra and gess.

I'm with electra and gess. Its the government who should be ashamed not us, Its up to the individual to vaccinate or not. Its no ones place to say you must.

gess · 29/04/2007 23:12

ah yes electra- it was watching the great mercury cover up unfold on BBC that made me realise that I wasn;t interested in gettig the 'truth' out as it would never happen, but that I would merrily go ahead and do what I thought was right for my boys. I wasn't even angry I was slumped and open mouthed.

noopska · 29/04/2007 23:25

sorry the vaccines debate is fascinating (bcg anyone?) but ..

it bugs me when i see people pushing child on swings/ pushing buggy when listening to their mp3 players

5 year olds with dummies
designer kiddies clothes/ shit diet
trainers on tiny babies
pretentious overpriced prams

any more for any more?

Twinklemegan · 29/04/2007 23:32

Yep, as I said before (which got subsumed in vaccine debate) pierced ears on tiny babies. That's mutilation IMHO.

chipmonkey · 29/04/2007 23:42

Anyone who complained about runny noses not being wiped can go take a run and a jump as far as I'm concerned. Ds1's nose streamed constantly for about 3 years every winter, no doctor took us seriously about it and it was impossible to keep clean!

gess · 29/04/2007 23:44

I just assume that a 5 year old with a dummy might have SN to be honest. I know so many 5 + year old autistic children with dummies.

noopska · 29/04/2007 23:55

um depends where u live i suppose
round here u get
tarted up 5 years olds with dummy

noopska · 29/04/2007 23:57

and what about spanish baby girls?

they all have their ears pierced!

muy cruel

Lovecat · 30/04/2007 10:01

piercings on babies/anyone under the age of 13!

little boys with their heads shaved/crewcut 'to make them look like proper boys'

agressiveness towards/swearing at children (if they're like that in public, wtf are they like behind closed doors?)

people who take their tinies out and ignore them, don't talk to them in restaurants/cafes, don't chat as they walk them along, just silence. Just because a child can't talk, doesn't mean they shouldn't be talked too...

people who constantly brag about their dcs achievements and ask 'oh, isn't dd doing that yet?' in a concerned-but-patronising voice

Those baby on board signs that go "PULL BACK! SPARE THE LIFE OF MY CHILD!" - yes, because if you hadn't had that up in your window, of course I would have repeatedly rammed you....[rolls eyes]

people who assume that everything they like/dislike their child will like/dislike - my sil once said to me 'oh, don't give my dd carrots, she won't like them' - when I asked had she tried them, she said no, but 'I don't like them, so she won't either' - wtf???

slaggy clothes on little girls

bugaboo prams (sorry, but my sis has one for her dd and it's treated better than her dp!)

hygiene freaks

whale music/white noise/womb music tapes that your friggin' relatives insist is the only thing that will get their pfb off to sleep and play at ten thousand decibels at 2 o'clock in the morning - then act surprised when you say you didn't sleep too well the next morning!

OrmIrian · 30/04/2007 10:25

Isn't this a lovely inclusive thread? Now that we know what p*sses other MNers other, we can be sure that something we do will fit the bill. And no-one is left out. Isn't that cosy? Gives you a lovely warm glow...

singingmum · 30/04/2007 10:33

Parents who either let their children have or do:-
Snotty unwiped noses
3yr olds running around without supervision
near roads and strangers
allowing Dc's to take other peoples things and destroying them
Dirty children who look as though they've been wearing clothes for about a week
Scream and shout late at night when my Dc's are tucked up in bed
I could go on and on.Generally hate and am angrry at parents who should never have had Dc's if they can't be bothered with them

oranges · 30/04/2007 10:45

wow, i'm amazed how often I must wind up total strangers, as I push ds along in his bugaboo, in a sleepsuit as he's more comfy in it.

FiveFingeredFiend · 30/04/2007 10:47

All so judgemental. Whilst proclaiming hippy weaving lentilness on other threads.

Lovecat · 30/04/2007 10:48

Depends, Oranges.

Do you have perfect glossy hair and a size 8 figure with no stretch marks? Because yes, then you do (I'm the fat, unkempt one with the runny-nosed child, btw - pleased to meet you!)

niceglasses · 30/04/2007 10:50

God, don't get the snotty nose thing. I thought kids were supposed to be dirty with snotty noses - thats what they do isn't it???

I think there comes a point when these lighthearted threads tip, and I think we just went past it......

no, frizzy hair and have never been a size 8. No stretch marks though. The funny thing is that when I was a self conscious teenager, my mother kept saying - stop being so embarrased about things. No one is actually looking at you. Now it seems they are in fact, looking and judging. Ah well.

saintmaybe · 30/04/2007 11:06

I am insane and unreasonable about small babies without hats, whatever the weather.

I'm not joking, it causes me physical pain. I'm working on it.

tarantula · 30/04/2007 11:18

PMSL at this thread. Obv dp and ddd must annoy the fuck out of almost everybody as soon as they leave the front door.
Just wondered what was wrong with toddlers being up late tho? I mean they dont have school and if they arent at nursery it means that the SAHP can have a lie in in the morning and both parents at weekends.

Jacanne · 30/04/2007 12:53

lol Tarantula - I am the envy of my friends with my two - 8am in the morning is the norm for them No 5am wakings for me.

ScottishMummy · 30/04/2007 14:23

ScottishMummy · 30/04/2007 14:26
