Have you got 3 children?

What's it like? Is it that much different from 2? Why did you decide to have 3? Do you have anytime for yourself? Are you permenantly tired?

Just a few of my questions about having 3! I am so undecided!

I am nodding in agreement with most of this thread. I really must stop reading and go and notice ds2 .

Custardo, your posts always make me lol. I agree with what you say about girls as it is certainly true of my dd (lovely though she is).

Cod, happy birthday to ds3 btw

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 09:39

laughingduck · 22/03/2007 09:41

Thumbs up for three of the same here too (5, 3 and 7 months). They are boys and they are great .

friendlyedjit · 22/03/2007 19:17

1,2,3,4 .......fantastic. Family dynamic changes with each one,but once you have one! In for a penny etc. I have three indeed and would like more, but may have to get moving on that

ellabellatheshoeseller · 22/03/2007 20:29

I agree with you foxybrn that going from one to two was a killer but from two to three wasn't - maybe because I spent the whole time thinking - Oh my god how will I cope and I built it up in my head to be a complete nighmare so it wasnt as bad as I expected. I dont know if there is any truth in this but the few friends I have who have had four - the first and the third seem to be very alike and the second and the fourth child? So for me...first babynot too bad and slept Ok and normal and the second colic and screaming foever and carried on being awkward really and third easy aagain. newmum - you are fine to admit that you would like a different sex baby - I wanted a girl every time but of course I have three boys (who are all fab) and I would have carried on but my husband (who is so easygoing about everything usually) made it clear that I would fast become a single mother of four sons...and put like that I decided to quit while I was ahead! A good friend made me feel better by asking me to think about why I wanted a pink one! I have a good relationship with my mother, sister and have fab friends and several god daughters so do I need any more females in my life? I think as a good mother in law you need to back off and I am aware of this and I speak t my Mum every day so imagined my daugher would do he same. But hey...hoping my sons will and they all look great in their fairly outfits (kidding!!!)

Twinmummyx2 · 23/03/2007 10:51

3 is too quiet..have 8 like me...LOL
.....

scorpio1 · 23/03/2007 10:55

no....please dont say the first and third are similar...i will die

PeachyClair · 23/03/2007 19:33

Um sorry but... mine are

They both have curly hair, sleep poorly, have Asd (yes THAT similar), have dairy intolerances.... BUT one os very aggressive, one is a palcid little soul so there are differences.

DS2 is a combination of sweet angel / whiney girl.

McDreamy · 26/04/2007 08:53

Just can't make my mind up, one day I feel all for it the next I feel like I have just got a bit of time for myself for the first time in 4 years and do I want to give it up [shcok] selfish I know but that's how I find myself feeling!!! I think DH will go along with whatever I want to do.

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/07/2007 08:46

McDreamy - any decisions? I am in this dilemma at the moment, will have to convince DH if i decide to go for it, and really really can't make up my mind. This thread is interesting, Ghosty's comments particularly.........

mintchips · 20/07/2007 10:26

I have 3. 2DDs and DS. It's bloody hard work, caotic and noisy, but it's good fun too!

nomdeplume · 20/07/2007 10:28

I have 3. 2 teenaged DS's and 1 5yo DD.

3 is good.

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/07/2007 10:50

I just keep thinking short term hard work for long term gain....lots of grandkids (no guarantees obviously but...) lots of family at christmas, I'd love to have three boys, although a pink one would be nice now too, etc etc. But am I just going to rock the boat by adding to our family?

mazzystar · 20/07/2007 10:58

i've got two - but its a bit symmetrical
would like another 1 but scared of twins possibility
and my body is already a disaster zone

pagwatch · 20/07/2007 11:03

I have three DS1 =14 DS2 =10 and DD = 4
I love it. It feels perfect and we are finished now. And no I wasn't waiting for a girl. We had always thought three seemed nice. But I feel like I have had a toddler for a decade so DD going to school in September feels pretty good timing.
Big brother helping with DD was fab. He is very protective - changed her very first nappy - and is responsible enough to babysit if i need to go get a pint of milk. He wants to collect her from school but not sure school would be pleased.
Love three. Best thing we ever did ( after the first two!)

Enid · 20/07/2007 11:05

it is more work, but then having an active one year old is more work generally

but lovely

I have three dds (7, 4 nad 1)

KTWhoMustNotBeNamed · 20/07/2007 11:05

3 is the new 2 around here - I would say I know more families with 3 or more than with 2 - and not a sign of working class area at all Custy - is New Edwardian the correct phrase? Think it is actually because it is an affluent area families can afford to have more kids....

MrsJohnCusack · 20/07/2007 11:08

we are wanky nuclear family now
would like another. I think. Not for a while though, DS only 4 months

RosaLuxembourg · 20/07/2007 11:10

I have three DDs - 9, 7 and 4. They are fab and much more fun than two. The only thing I regret is not having had a fourth.

compo · 20/07/2007 12:09

ooh I see this thread is from a while ago.
So did mcdreamy ever decide to go for it...
and is Enid still broody for no.4

MrsJohnCusack · 20/07/2007 12:20

I'm sure I just saw a post elsewhere from McDreamy saying she was TTC, so this obviously worked!

allgonebellyup · 20/07/2007 12:31

personally i would hate to have 3, too much hard work and it would totally destroy the social life i have. plus just the thought of dragging 3 whinging kids out on a day out brings me to tears..

Enid · 20/07/2007 12:31

yes compo

but I only want a little boy so he can be all hulking and cool and in aband

TheGoddessBlossom · 20/07/2007 13:35

yes it's from a while back Compo, I did a search for these exact words in thread titles cos I knew there would be one without creating my own! And sure enough...

My DH thinks I should go back to work to take my mind off it....!
