Have you got 3 children?

What's it like? Is it that much different from 2? Why did you decide to have 3? Do you have anytime for yourself? Are you permenantly tired?

Just a few of my questions about having 3! I am so undecided!

I'm one of 3 (eldest) my brother (middle) is a fab brother as is my younger brother! Am aware of middle child syndrome so as long as we try and avoid it happening.....or is it inevitable?

three matching ( any vareity) is REALLY cool
isnt it enid

DimpledThighs · 20/03/2007 11:11

oh McDreamy - I am like you - have the two and so want the three but can't find the reasons - have ds and dd so people do say I have my set but LOVE the idea of them outnumbering me and would welcome the change in dynamic.

Two does seem dull TBH

BTW am a middle child and I think I am great.

i have 3 kids.

its very cool. when i am missing one (ie dd3 asleep at school run time so gets left at home with dh and carer) its odd. it means ai have free for the older dd's stuff lol.

there is always noise, never quiet, some times it seems like a zoo here. but watching all 3 play together is sweet. the other day at bedtime, dd3 got in bed with dd2 and both fell asleep. very sweet. sometimes dd1 joins tyhem as well.

i wouldnt mind another one tho. not sure i want to go through pregnancy and labour again, but if i find one under the gooseberry bush i'll be happy

laughingduck · 20/03/2007 11:11

3 matching is a lot easier I think. They have more in common. My dd is left out and the middle one which can be very difficult.

misdee · 20/03/2007 11:13

3 matching can be madness though.

dd1+2 confuse dh as they are the same size. mind u its easy to confuse him lol.

chocolateaddict · 20/03/2007 11:14

I have three dd's,have no time for myself and I am permenantly tired and spend most of my day being a referee but wouldn't have it any other way.

McDreamy · 20/03/2007 11:14

At the moment I have one of each so very "perfect" and boring iyswim! I just think a third will add a bit more excitment to the family but am I living in a "Waltons" dream and it's not like that after all!

Enid · 20/03/2007 11:14

yes it is cool

I want another one

CODalmighty · 20/03/2007 11:14

mine get on really well
rarely referee - i do tend to make them sort it out

ds1 is very good at peace making

CODalmighty · 20/03/2007 11:15

enid!

are you ok today?
you seem hacked off

MrsPhilipGlenister · 20/03/2007 11:15

Lol at misdee! I get The Fear when I think about the delivery suite - never again! I'm thinking of getting some gerbils though .

Enid · 20/03/2007 11:15

lol

I think I am coming down with something I do feel shitey!

LadyTophamHatt · 20/03/2007 11:15

Go on Enid...have another one...it's great having 4!

MrsPhilipGlenister · 20/03/2007 11:17

Nice to see you LTH! Was just thinking about you the other morning while I was brushing teeth (not mine)...

LadyTophamHatt · 20/03/2007 11:18

MrsPhilipGlenister · 20/03/2007 11:18

Dinosaur

Gobbledigook · 20/03/2007 11:19

What's it like? Er, quite hectic, noisy but loads of fun

Is it that much different from 2? I think it is when they are little, it's a little bit harder to manage out and about on your own when they are small - depends on your age gap. My eldest was only 3 when the youngest was born.

Why did you decide to have 3? I was one of 3 and I loved having 2 siblings. 2 is just a bit 'twee', a bit 'expected' for me. I like 3 better.

Do you have any time for yourself? Yes, quite a bit.

Are you permanently tired? No.

McDreamy · 20/03/2007 11:19

..and will I have enough time to come onto mumsnet?

OP posts:
ChippyMinton · 20/03/2007 11:20

yes, you will make time

misdee · 20/03/2007 11:21

mt stock phrase when one goes 'mum * did this,' is

'sort it out between you'

dd1 helps calm dd2 down over what colour plates she wants (yes really, total choas if i give her the wrong plate/cup) is 'you dont eat the colour, its fine on this plate'

McDreamy · 20/03/2007 11:21

DD starts school in September and then DS would be eligle for preschool from September 08. I am kind of thinking this would be a good time if we are going to do it before we get completely out of the baby stage. Also I am 36!

Aha, Hi dino.....

Gobbledigook · 20/03/2007 11:23

3 matching is uber cool.

Agree with cod - gets easier when youngest is 2.

I never wanted one girl and one boy - not that you have any choice but, God, it's so twee. It's so just not me. 2.4 children. No.

LadyTophamHatt · 20/03/2007 11:23

Mcdreamy, I was promoted from 3-4 children 9 weeks ago and as you can see there is definatly time to MN
