Have you got 3 children?

What's it like? Is it that much different from 2? Why did you decide to have 3? Do you have anytime for yourself? Are you permenantly tired?

Just a few of my questions about having 3! I am so undecided!

thanks mintchocchippyminton. We've got audi estate, 2 britax eclipse and M&P primo viaggio. Think might buy a slimmer seat for DD - a sort of booster with a back - as she will be nearly 4. Will pack them in somehow.

Another question DS is just 1 and very clingy don't know how he'll react to new baby - anyone got any experience/tips?

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:44

odd isnt it?
it realyl was a huge thign for me
" but popel will think ill want a girl"
s tupid what you "want " really
you love em regardless

ds3 4 today

cod lol at girls hair and horses and ballet.

DD is an honorary boy - she has just been invited to a football party by a school pal and she is one of only 2 girls. She wants to go of course!

dingdongjustforyoufg · 22/03/2007 08:48

agree with that Cod, my twins are girls, when I found out it was twins I wanted both to be boys, far less hassle in the long run, but as you say it doesn't matter cos you love them just the same (but am dreading the teenage years already!)

ghosty · 22/03/2007 08:49

Cod, honestly ... I can think of 6 friends who had a 3rd a bit later on ... so a 2 year gap between first 2 then a bigger gap before number 3.

4 of those couples claim that the 3rd was an 'accident' And they all say (not in an awful mean "I wish I'd never had him/her") that going to 3 was bloody hard and if they turned the clock back they might have taken more care.

The other 2 couple planned their 3rd baby. 1 of the husbands buggered off and left her pregnant [wanker]. The other couple seems blissfully happy - but older kids are running riot ...

All 6 mothers are knackered. But the 3 whose 3rd children are over 3 now are, admittedly, pretty relaxed, happy and chilled - and do seem to drink a lot of wine

So, all in all, I have been well and truly put off from having a 3rd ...1) I am knackered enough as it is, 2) I don't want to regret it, and 3) I don't want my husband to leave me

That is the sum of my research and so will go back to the peace and quiet of my wanky one of each

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:49

am sure will want a girl whe they are like 20 and quite nice.
bet i feel funny over hte wedding thing

tortoiseSHELL · 22/03/2007 08:49

If i have a fourth, wondering if i'll get the 'do you want a girl to balance your family?' questions....

or if they'll all give me a wide berth just in case in my lunatic state I do something unpredicatable.

(BTW, not planning another one imminently, just musing)

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:50

hmm we popped em out like wildfire
2 years between each ( well 2.5 wiht ds3)

Twiglett · 22/03/2007 08:50

my girl could take any one of your boys on and win

cupcakes · 22/03/2007 08:51

happy birthday to cod's ds3.

I love having three btw, although youngest is only 3 months.

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:51

ID HAEV HAD A FOURHT LAST YEAR IF WE HAD THE MONEY AND SPACE.

oops

the gap istoo big now and also like being crap free zone

(says she who today has got a playmobil safari house, post office swimmign pool adn green house in her house)

Flamesparrow · 22/03/2007 08:51

DD hates her hair being done, horses have never been mentioned, and she ain't doin ballet regardless!

Thanks for the overthinking it comment... you're right

Most of my friends have 4 or 5 and seem to think I am odd with my two... my mum goes on about 2 being enough and not wanting to babysit 3... and I don't cope very well with any number so not really an issue

Do get very sick of the "so you've got a full set now" No... I have 2 differently sexed children - how is that a set?!?! Especially when they were saying it as DS was born and I was still at the sobbing "but a set matches" stage

tortoiseSHELL · 22/03/2007 08:51

Twig, my dd holds her own with ds1 and his mates...she is tough! And also does a good line in 'MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, they HUUUUUUUUUUUUUURT ME!

cupcakes · 22/03/2007 08:52

the 18 month old dog is more hard work than dd2.

Tortington · 22/03/2007 08:53

girls are a nightmare. dont bother. whinge when they are born. whinge non stop for next 14 years. - then steal your make up and shoes. and perfume. and eyeliner, and hair products, and hot water and hairbrush and hairdryer and mobile phone.

i dont know what boys do - COS they are fab and go away and play with other children without you having to watch to validify their existance " watch me mummy watch me mummy" arrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Twiglett · 22/03/2007 08:55

boys whinge too

but I'll tell you what boys don't do that make them far superior

they don't ...... sing constantly in high-pitched nasal voices which their mums think are adorable

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:55

have you the one twin boy custy or two

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:55

CODalmighty · 22/03/2007 08:58

hwo is his girlfreind these days?

Tortington · 22/03/2007 09:00

he has had the same girlfriend for 14 months. her dad recently won a lottery syndicate. i told him to marry her quick. but it seems i cant get rid.

Flamesparrow · 22/03/2007 09:02

Hmmm... I have met the whingey whiney singing boy...

tortoiseSHELL · 22/03/2007 09:05

I've met plenty of whingy whiney boys as well, and ds1 certainly does sing in a veyr high pitched squeaky voice!

Good thing about girls - dd is a joy to take to anyone else's house, especially when they have loud boys, she sits and has civilised conversation and pretends to make cakes!

katwith3kittens · 22/03/2007 09:21

I've just upgraded from 2 to 3 13 weeks ago and its fab.

Admittedly the elder 2 are at school now so in one way it makes it a lot easier as my days are just me and my baby.

I think we just thought lets go for it' life is too short and hey ho LO appeared 9 months later.

Downside is that we had to buy a new car and I am fearful that my showhome will look crap - but I feel happy and complete.

There is always room for the people you love most in the world.
