ANY OTHER FORCES WIVES OUT THERE?

Just been chatting with 3andnomore on another thread and wondered if there are any more of us on mumsnet who would like a chat and a comforting moan? I am on my own atm - hubby away for 4 months, and would love to swap 'home alone with the kids' stories - good and bad, and also a good gossip about the other wives we are left with! A much safer outlet for frustration than the hive!

nulcat - larkhill, I had a friend based there (she's just left us now ) anyhow she says the houses were dead small - 2 bed ones, her DD was weeks old so didn't go into any other details about the house.

whom ever was asking about the insuraces we use abacus it'as a MIL company DH signed to when he signed up, we're covered for his kit insureace, the computer (specially), the contents (£40K iirc) and £10K of tennants liability apaprently this has a £50 access. costs us £36 p/m, and you basiclly pay on a month by month basis. we've claimed once and never had any probs with them at all, they tell us of any extras - like when the put the cover up (DH;'s kit is now £10K as well I think and we didn't have to pay any more so v pleased about ti really)

anyhow hope everyone's doing well. DH has been in 5 years this week only aother 17 to go! lol.

Hello, hope you're all well, hope no-one has friends or relatives onboard HMS Cornwall or HMS Tireless - tough week for the Navy.

Well ladies, you can all kit yourselves out in the RAF logo now!

here

Like I'm going to want to waer a bikini with the RAF logo on my nips!

saltire · 27/03/2007 20:03

Here's an even better link!
t-shirts and bikins

I can't see many Junior ranks wearing those t-shirts or jeans, especially at the price they want for them.

Skyler · 27/03/2007 20:16

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! PMSL at that clothing. We have so much FREE RAF clothing lying around that we can't get clothing stores to take back from DH I won't be paying for anything else.

saltire · 27/03/2007 22:14

I'm glad you found that funny skyler. DH and I were laughing at it this morning. I think it will only be saddos that wear it, like the Underwood brothers. I wonder how much of the defence budget was spent getting them to model

littleEasterlapin · 27/03/2007 22:17

That is HILARIOUS. My sis is stationed with the RAF at the mo, I think I'll have to get her a tshirt .

DH is wetting himself laughing!

saltire · 27/03/2007 22:19

I think i shall buy myself a bikini so i can go sunbathing on the beach at portsmouth, shall I get you on littlelapin? After all, i really want everyone to know my DH is in the airforce.

littleEasterlapin · 27/03/2007 22:20

LOL, have you seen what it says on the bikini page?!

"If you're going to join the Caterpillar Club, you need the right equipment in case you come down in the drink!"

ANyway, I've already got a bikini, it says "Navy Wife" across the arse in diamante....

McCadburysDreamyegg · 27/03/2007 22:20

I so want a bikini for JAWS!

saltire · 27/03/2007 22:21

Have you noticed that in all those modelling shots they are all looking away, perhaps they are looking for a way out
"look Rory, there's a door, make a run for it"

McCadburysDreamyegg · 27/03/2007 22:22

So are we going to get oue own thread heading - have I missed rhe outcome of that?

littleEasterlapin · 27/03/2007 22:24

I love the way it says "Rugby heroes and pilots" - yes, Rory was an RAF pilot, but Tony flew for EasyJet!

saltire · 27/03/2007 22:24

I don't know, I never heard anything. Still trying to figure out where those model shots were taken. Hendon? Duxford?

saltire · 27/03/2007 22:26

What's that man, Corporal, sorry sorry, Wing Cdr, or Sqn Leader whatever, what's he done to make him the fastest man on land?

littleEasterlapin · 27/03/2007 22:45

This is him .

Got to go to bed now. DH is still chuckling about that stuff. He's just gutted as he was out with some RAF guys last night and would have had a field day with it!

Night all!

saltire · 28/03/2007 07:50

Thanks for the link littlelapin, how proud it makes me.
I'm very jealous of your bikini , I might get on with FWAG on the back Forces Wives and Girlfriends. What do you think

littleEasterlapin · 28/03/2007 09:57

He's not your DH is he, Saltire?!

saltire · 28/03/2007 10:21

No he's not my DH, my Dh is in the RAF, but obviously a different RAF to this guy, as my DH actually has to go into work every day, and has a demanding job.

littleEasterlapin · 28/03/2007 10:33

[handbags]

I know what you mean, but if he's OC Ops at Wittering, he must be a "proper" pilot too...

saltire · 28/03/2007 10:37

Yes, after all the pilots and navigators have the most important job in the whole RAF.

At least according to DS2's friends mum, whose DH is a navigator. She told me that the RAF could cope well without DH, but would collapse without pilots nad navigators!

We still haven't heard anything from DE about our MQ I'm getting pretty fed up wating to be honest, and have tried phoning but the woman who allocates has been off for ages and the others are moving office out to Stamshaw.

littleEasterlapin · 28/03/2007 11:09

Yep, pilots do very well when bits of their aircraft start, er, dropping off...

I hate that sort of attitude, for gods sake, it's a TEAM!

That sucks about the MQs. Hope it gets resolved soon. Sorry, must dash, DS is trying to get into the washing machine!

McCadburysDreamyegg · 28/03/2007 17:03

Hello all, need your company tonight as DH is due home at 6am tomorrow and I don't know what to do with myself
