ANY OTHER FORCES WIVES OUT THERE?

Just been chatting with 3andnomore on another thread and wondered if there are any more of us on mumsnet who would like a chat and a comforting moan? I am on my own atm - hubby away for 4 months, and would love to swap 'home alone with the kids' stories - good and bad, and also a good gossip about the other wives we are left with! A much safer outlet for frustration than the hive!

Morning ladies - nice to see we are still "recruiting" How is everyone this morning? I have finally taxed my car - yay!!! Had to queue for ages though. Last weekend on my own , next Saturday we fly back to the UK for 2 weeks and I can't wait (mainly coz it's my birthday on the Monday!!) If any of you Colerne mums fancy a coffee while I'm over I would be willing to travel over to meet up, I will be in Calne so not too far away.

Munz what's with the name change ?

Laura032004 · 09/02/2007 08:37

frenziednester - sorry to hear about the GBS. I had it with DS2, so if you want to chat about what it all involved (although in a UK hosp), let me know. All was absolutely fine in the end.

hello girls.

shosha- who's daisyduke?? i'll have a chat to the welfare team as well if u like and see if they can help out at all organising things - i'm sure we can sort soemthing out it's a huge garrison after all prob the craddock - or maybe the 1.5 route?

mcd - just feeling like a daisy, and also after the talk of security it dauned on me the MN/RL were too similar to risk it tbh. (I know it prob wouldn't be a prob but best to be safe ) also have one 7 eps for you - obv had to spend all of last night watching them to make sure they work! lol. doing the next 76 over the w/e as DH is working nights on sun so will watch those as well - in the intrests of making sure they work! hope you mum gets to come over. i've also heard aboutt eh travel thing when they're on ops - for me it was 2 free car journeys well I gave a reciept form my destination to come back and they paid the money directly to us.

LL - I can arrange to be there that day - do you have sponsor forms or anything? will try to rope mum/the family in as well, they like doing the walk for cancer as well so don't see why they wouldn't do another one for maude.

hello new commers! it's great to have more signals folks about

shosha- how are we going with the towers? is it worhjt doing a thread in site stuff/shall we all just email towers and harrass them till we get our own section! lol.

daisynut · 09/02/2007 16:03

not 100% yet- I was going to with V & E, but both E/J have their jab at 11.35 and 11.45 respectivly so not 100% it will be worth coming out - will have to talk to V and see what she feels. dreading the jabs tbh, will prob come as it will be the last day we'll go out that week! lol. he's always a nightmare a few days after jabs.

Skyler · 09/02/2007 19:30

Hi all.
Flossie, I have a friend who used to be at Wycombe and one who is still there. They like it there. My friend runs the music group there (or at least she did last time I heard.) I will email and see what I can find out for you. I am coming to Cottesmore next Sunday to visit friends, are you near there?
McDreamy - Hope you had fun at Jumbos .
No 2+1 at the mo then
Frenzied - Sorry to hear about your midwives insensitivity. I would have gone to pieces too. I think it means they would like to give you IV anti biotics whilst you are in labour but if that is not possible (ie labour too fast) I think they may administer anti-b's after and like to monitor. It is incredibly common and most of us carry it apparently . There is a great site, I will see if I can find it.

Skyler · 09/02/2007 19:39

Look here , but don't PANIC. Speak to Laura too. Take care

thanks guys for the support. I have calmed down a lot about it today, and am reading all the links. I have posted on it too, and read other MN stuff in the archives. One website DH found in Canada suggested sticking a garlic clove up your vagina to kill the colonisation..... socialble!!!!! Have a good weekend all - I'm going to catch an early night. Would someone contact MN towers and tell them we are over 400 posts and still going strong? Can't fail to help!

Hi we're in andover. DH was told on Thursday that his department is moving to ensleigh with quarters in colerne. No confirmed date yet but we went to have a look yesterday. DD is 6 months old and I'm a little panicked about meeting new people with not being attached to a regiment and hopefully be working when we move about childminder / nursery.

3LoveHeartsAndNoMore · 11/02/2007 11:56
